My biggest issue started with the cashier interaction. I was waiting to be helped and noticed other customers being served ahead of me. When I questioned the cashier about being skipped, I felt like my concern was dismissed instead of being handled respectfully. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I simply expected the same consideration as every other paying customer. I then spoke with the owner, and that interaction made the situation even worse. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, the owner went back and forth with me and defended the situation rather than acknowledging why I was upset. Since that incident, every time I go into the store, the cashier's attitude toward me has been noticeably different. She doesn't greet me or acknowledge me when I come in. When I receive my receipt, she snatches it, balls it up, and doesn't even ask if I want the receipt. These may seem like small things individually, but when they happen repeatedly after the previous situation, it makes me feel intentionally disrespected. I cannot say what anyone's intentions are, but the cashier interaction, the owner's response, and the way I have been treated since then have left me with the perception that race may have played a role in how I was treated. That is a serious concern, and I believe customers should be able to speak honestly about their experiences. I'm not asking anyone to take my word for it. I'm sharing exactly how the situation has made me feel based on my interactions there. Everyone spends their money there, and everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.
