He was extremely quick to respond anytime we reached out with questions, and is very knowledgeable about everything! He helped us get the house we wanted and also walked us through the entire process on fixing up and selling our house. We ended up getting 14 offers on our house, it sold for 20% above asking, and closed 2 weeks after we sold it! I will recommend Dan to anyone in St. Louis looking to buy or sell a house. Not only that, but he's just a really nice person and a pleasure to work with. When it's time to move again, we already know who we're calling :).

But Dan lived in the neighborhood and offered to come by and help me with some new homeowner concerns I had. When I tried to compensate him for his time he politely refused. Fast forward to this year and we had to buy a house sight unseen from across the country. Dan was incredibly helpful in both the search and tying up loose ends so that when we arrived after a 5 day drive, we were set up for success. Little touches like programming new garage door openers and having handymen fix little issues. You will absolutely not regret using Dan for your next house search!

If I could give zero stars I would, but here we are…read more I rented from this company in the Chouteau Lofts Apts for 4 years. In the beginning it was actually great. Management was responsive and timely with things like maintenance requests. They raised my rent every year $25/month and claimed this was for maintenance. They also entered my apartment multiple times per year to do "preventative maintenance". Over the years it became impossible to even get regular needed maintenance. I had multiple instances of my air conditioning going out and people not wanting to come repair it or leave a window unit not attached to the windows. Fast forward to me moving out. I moved because of my job, but likely wouldn't have stayed in this apartment as it was getting more expensive and there was no maintenance done to upkeep it. I moved out on 6/9, I was told I'd receive a prorated refund for the rest of June's rent. Instead it took multiple phone calls and emails over several weeks for me to receive a check for $175 that was nowhere close to the $600+ it should have been. Effectively I was lied to, stolen from, or both. I also only received $30 of my security deposit refund. Large deductions were for things like the blinds, which I was told on several of those "preventative maintenance" visits that they were measuring and going to install new ones. The icing on the cake is them charging me $120 of my security deposit to paint the ceilings. The only thing wrong with the ceiling was due to their own shoddy work. A couple years into my lease an upstairs neighbor drilled into the wall hitting a pipe causing water damage in my apartment below. Instead of repainting the whole ceiling they repainted only patches of what was damaged. Clearly they can't rent the apartment with an unfinished paint job of the ceiling and I get to pick up the tab. Tl;dr: This company will lie to you, charge you extra money for no reason and provide a subpar living experience. All while lacking basic communication skills.

Don't rent from them if you prefer for your home life to be stress free. I lived in my apartment…read morethrough them for two years. Would never rent from Front Door again. 1. The building was often a mess. The place would go literally weeks without the common areas being cleaned. Granted, there was something about the tenants that certainly contributed. Cigarette butts in the stairwells, all over my patio from the unit above me, vomit in the stairwells. Hallways frequently smelled of marijuana. I understand that some tenants had no sense of responsibility in cleaning their mess, but the fact that these things went uncleaned for weeks is a reflection of the management and their priorities on getting the place cleaned regularly. A brand new building too, making it a shame that it's being treated so poorly. 2. The management is dishonest. When I moved into the apartment, the building was brand new. One of the selling points was that they told us they would be building a paved and gated parking lot that was included in our rent. It took them over a year to even start building the lot. And when they finally got around to it, they informed us they would be charging us monthly to park in it. I was told that unless I could provide written evidence that they said the parking would be included in rent (of course, I couldn't) that I would have to pay the fee. 3. The management is just disorganized. Two examples here. I lived there for two years. I went away over the weekend that included the dates my first year lease ending and second year lease starting. I returned to town to find that my key fob wasn't working so I couldn't get into my building. I had to wait 30 minutes for a maintenance worker to come let me in. I then couldn't leave my apartment for the rest of the night because I would've been locked out of my apartment again. I called first thing the next morning to sort everything out. I was told that I should have received an email instructing me that I needed to get my fob reactivated before the end date of my first year lease in order to still have building access. Now, I am admittedly not the best at checking my email. But I would not miss an email that included information about me potentially losing access to my apartment. They said "it looks like you were sent the email....this morning". Two days after I lost building access. Do you think they even offered to prorate my rent for those two days I didn't have access to the building? Not a chance. After moving out, I realized I hadn't gotten my security deposit mailed to me two months after I had left. I emailed to inquire about it this. No response. In fact, often did not get responses to my emails. So eventually I called. And the woman who answered the phone told me that no one had ever finished my check out process. From an apartment I moved out of two months prior. And presumably someone new had since moved in. 4. Safety was not a priority. There was a two week period where the door to the garage of the building was broken so it just stood ajar. Inside of the garage was a door to the building lobby. Which didn't lock. You didn't actually need a fob to get in. So for two weeks, literally anyone could have walked into the building. It's amazing there wasn't any apparent theft or damage during that time. There are definitely a few nice and helpful staff members in the office. Although they had a lot of turnover in those two years so suspect the employees may not have been that happy working there either. I liked my individual apartment. The units were nice. But it's not worth paying a lot to live in a new building when you have to deal with all the issues above.

We moved across the country on June 4, six weeks after reporting the issue, and the gas leak was still ongoing. A contractor later told us the levels were severe enough that we were fortunate a major incident had not occurred. The owner's contractor also improperly replaced the gas line with an undersized one, according to Spire, and I was the person contacting Spire throughout the process. They let me know that the pipe the contractor replaced was 1/4th inch too small and could lead to carbon monoxide or gas buildup in the lines. During the nine months we lived there, two additional gas leaks occurred in other areas of the system. After spending over $10,000 to move and paying rent for May while the house sat vacant, Stephanie Olsen told me over the phone that "this isn't working out" and that we would need to find another place if we continued being "ungrateful." We ultimately moved out early after 10 months, and paid April 2026 rent while the property was vacant and we were in a new rental. The house itself had numerous issues: filthy vents filled with years of dust and mold, insect infestations (basement had roaches, beetles and grasshoppers) requiring extermination, and a failing sump pump system with drain flies that contributed to a very strong basement odor. The home was at times uninhabitable due to the gas smell, causing headaches and dizziness for both me and my Mom, and we paid out of pocket for hotel stays. This experience was emotionally and financially exhausting. After being threatened with eviction, do you really think I felt comfortable reporting every issue with the house? Of course not. So we financially covered multiple issues due to fear of retaliation.

( fire department had no record) We moved from across the country on June 4th . The gas leak was ongoing. We went on to have 2 more gas leaks in the 9 months we lived in this home . At other areas of the gas system. Stephanie Olsen definitely threatened to let me out of my lease in June when we spoke on the phone after I had just spent $8,000 dollars and payed rent for May( while the house was vacant). And no one would be happy with this situation. We left early and payed for April of this year while the house was vacant. This company and the homes owner were awful. Stephanie literally screamed at me and threatened to evict me on the phone until I was in tears. The house was literally inhabitable due to the extremely strong smell of gas, which was causing headaches and dizziness for me and my son. We paid to stay in a hotel. The vents were filthy with dust and mold that had not been cleaned for years. We had to pay for an exterminator due to a hornet and grasshopper infestation, a plumber for a failing sump pit motor infested with drain flies / worms, which also contributed to the basement odor. The list goes on but my point is - this was a nightmare both emotionally and financially for us. Do you really think I'm going to report every issue wrong with the home after I was threatened with eviction? Obviously not.

Do not rent from these people. They are extremely unprofessional and RUDE. I was renting an…read moreapartment with my boyfriend at the time and another roommate. The place was spacious but you can tell it was poor quality. The doors kept getting stuck, there was a huge leak in the ceiling our first week, and the neighbors are extremely loud. A few months into the lease, my ex and I broke up and we discussed our options of having him and the roommate take over the lease. Julie Rowe, our leasing agent, absolutely freaked out on me saying that she could not believe this was happening and that she had never had a tenant ask to move out and be taken off the lease before. I find this hard to believe as she seems to have been in the business for many years. I understand that it's quite inconvenient for a tenant to move out, but Julie was the most unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Julie asked inappropriate questions about my relationship, and suggested we just 'work things out'. I was in disbelief at the audacity for her to place her opinion on my relationship and my comfort level of living in such a terrible situation. After making my case with her, she allowed my two roommates to reapply for the apartment so they could qualify to take over the lease. After a few days she emailed me to say she would allow it and I felt temporary relief that I could finally move out and secure a much more comfortable living space away from the tense environment I shared with an EX. However, that did not happen. Julie lacks proper communication and empathy. I drafted an amendment to remove me from the lease so that my ex and our roommate could take it over, and I applied for a new apartment. Julie, again, freaked out on me and sent me a truly nasty email saying she wouldn't let me off the lease even though she had previously approved it. The apartment I had applied for was not going to allow me to live there while on another lease, but after I showed them the emails from Julie and how difficult she is to work with, they understood my situation and approved me with a cosigner. Again, I understand that tenants should definitely try and finish out their lease, but unfortunately life does NOT always go according to plan and things do change. This company has no sense of empathy or willingness to understand complicated situations nor are they helpful in any way. I suggest NEVER renting from these people unless you want to be belittled.
