Lots of tables needed to be cleaned but still ample clean seating. I had the fish with crab meat signature dish, mac & cheese and turnip greens ($13.39) and paid for a side of fried okra ($2.59). Everything was plated separately, which works for me. The fish, however, was cold by the time we got to the table, and I wasn't a fan of the crab meat stuffing - definitely had Miracle Whip as an ingredient. All the sides were good and the yeast roll was warm and yummy. Husband got the Angus Chop House Steak (chopped steak) signature dish with green beans and mashed potatoes ($13.39) and a piece of Buttermilk Chess Pie ($3.99). The jalapeno he added was extra (30 cents), but I would expect that. I tasted the meat and green beans. Very good. Husband demolished his plate, then started on the pie. He wasn't a fan, and when I tasted it, it obviously had coconut in it and some other ingredient I couldn't identify - coconut milk? - either way, not the chess pie we expected. Would not get it again. Drinks were brought to our table after a short time and replenished quickly, and server was very pleasant. So many other choices, we will try again with different selections.

They're…read moreconveniently located near the Superdome and Tulane's School of Medicine, on the 3rd floor in the Freeport-McMoRan building. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's located directly on Poydras, but if you've already paid to park in one of the nearby garages then it's easily within walking distance. This place is less like a cafeteria, and more like a food court in the sense that they have several different stations located within the dining area- including a Hot Lunch Buffet, Grill, Deli, Soup station, Salad bar, and Frozen Yogurt bar, so there is quite literally something for everyone here! My mom and I usually split a salad from the salad bar, which offers three different types of lettuce/spinach and a huge selection of toppings and dressings. We also indulge in an order of french fries or onion rings from the grill from time to time. The grill serves a wide variety of items, from poboys, burgers and hot sausage to chicken and fish. I've tried a few items from the deli as well, including the tuna salad and shrimp remoulade, and both were delicious. I haven't tried the frozen yogurt bar yet, but I've noticed they have two flavors and several toppings available. The folks who work here are friendly and there is ample seating available in the dining room. I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area and looking for several food options located within the same space.

The bell pepper has shrimp and ground beef in it and taste just like the ones I ate as a kid. Catfish is a must also. Their sides are just ok but still descent. However, I must say that the candied yams are good. This place is a gas station with the food counter in the back of the store. It is a grab and go type place. Parking is limited so you may have to wait until someone moves to park. There are many drink options to choose from like big shot, Fargo, Arizona tea ect. Service is fairly quick but you need to know what you want before you get to the counter because the line moves quickly. Prices get are very reasonable and you get a lot of good for the money. Definitely a must try spot.

In the back of the store, is a deli where they sell soul food and good eats. Once we arrived they were out of all the items I was interested in getting so instead I ordered a 3 piece catfish and a good cold drank. Fish was amazing, fresh crispy, seasoned and well priced. I paid a total of $7 for the fish and two drinks. Service was fast and quick. Ordering area was busy so be sure to come early if you don't want all your selections gone. I'll definitely return for breakfast and snag some grits!
