Bought a house with them in 2020. We really wanted LAND with a house but the agent steered us into a builder neighborhood with an HOA. We had to give up all our chickens, broke my heart. We got a nice house, have no qualms about that. But we hate the HOA and it's management and I've even served on it. The home had floors improperly installed on it and the floors are cracked but the builder refused to do anything about it saying it was outside their timeframe. It was improperly installed! There is no timeframe for that. The builder dragged it out until the statuate of limitations was up. I'll have to sue to get that rectified. Not going to use Redfin again because the Realtor was told what We wanted and gave me something else and we had a tight timeframe and we had to live with it. Have one good neighbor and one horrid neighbor. We could afford land and we think the builder just gave the Realtor too many perks and kickbacks for her to really dig in and find the land and home we wanted. I did however 2 weeks after we moved in, found the land and house I wished she had shown me in my price range that was on the market for months, but I am sure that builder cash and incentives were just too enticing instead of getting our family what we asked for. We are not as secure as i wanted to be with land and the ability to grown our own food. The HOA went nuts when we put up shadecloth to protect our vegetables from the scorching Texas Sun that bakes everything into shriveled submission. All the neighbors want to lollygag into our yard. Another reason we wanted to be out in the country. We put up a scaffolding around the garden that they've no problem with but once you put up black shade cloth they want to tell you what color and how high when other people have trampolines that look much the same as the shadecloth and are visible from roads far away. People could mind their own business and I have a right to grow vegetables. We have a way around this involving the American flag as you can have that on your property and it will be suspended over the garden, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Had we been put into land with a house I would not be complaining about the HOA. So make sure your Needs and Wants come before your Agent's desire to collect builder incentives and shove you into a pretty house that fills your needs for a roof over your head, but not your need to be left alone by your neighbors and community. Recently went looking for another home in the Dallas Area and there is a redesign feature on their website. I'm sure it is AI driven. It doesn't understand the function of furniture, doors, floor mats & plumbing in a bathroom, but it does understand the types of items and different styles of homes like, Modern, Rustic, Industrial, Coastal, Beach etc. Now, mind you all these photos are for the same space. The AI is wildly imaginative about how big the space actually is and I'm thinking that the "tool" isn't really tweaked enough to be ready for primetime as the results are pretty hilarious and entertaining. read more

We hired Redfin after working with a realtor for about a week over the summer. It was sad but I'd say we were ahead of the realtor 100% of the time using the information available via Redfin. It's so much better from a raw data perspective and because you are working with several showing agents, you can see the homes at times that are flexible to your schedule. It's also way better from a cost perspective because Redfin cuts you a check after you buy/sell through them. You get a sizable rebate on the transaction, cool! Where it can get dicey is the experience part. Home purchase: We purchased a new home and the agent showing the home said her brother worked on the home and was a complete perfectionist. Turns out, her brother stopped working on the home after we were under contract and the builder assigned someone else to finish the job. The house was finished in a less than perfectionistic way, and we are still dealing with the punch list a month after close. The builder also did not deliver on some promises made during contract signing (like choice of grass, etc.). Once our agent discovered our dissatisfaction, she quickly worked to close the gaps with the builder. Home Sale: The house we were selling was in Crestview and we knew it would sell easily once we put it up for sale. It's a hot area right now. So, we told our Redfin agent that once we found a house we liked, we would put the house in Crestview up for sale and we would need an agreement with the buyer that we could rent a week or two back from the purchaser while we closed on the new house and moved out. Pretty simple really. So we found a house we wanted to buy and had Redfin put the Crestview house on the market. As expected we got multiple offers on it. One offer was a cash offer, they were willing to close within our time frame and they agreed that we could lease back through the end of the month, but they wanted a 9 day option period to mull it over. Then, we got another cash offer, which our Realtor said was basically the same except they did not need an option period. The second offer wanted to close later than I preferred but the Realtor was able to negotiate a faster close. Yea! House sold. The week before close we got the closing letter with instructions including bring the keys. I sent a note saying that I was staying in the house through the end of the month. Turns out that the detail of leasing back was missed. We had to move out really quickly and then close on the new house before it was completely done (lots still left on the punch list). This made for a very stressful home buying/selling experience. I guess I'd say that there are a lot of perks to using Redfin but the attention to details needs improving upon. Ask that they provide written comparisons between offers. Ask that they coordinate inspections/walk through so they are present at these critical events. read more

Had a terrible experience trying to use this company - this would be less than one star if it could be. Reached out for a consult and immediately received a response noting that I would be "contacted within the hour". I posed the question in the notes section "How does Redfin do in this market?" Albuquerque, NM. 5 days later I sent a customer service email noting no one had ever contacted me and they were over 120 hours late based on the initial contact ;) They assured me someone would reach out - no one ever did. Two days later I received a message from the same customer service agent asking if "I needed any further assistance and to let them know if I had any more questions", to which I responded "I haven't had anyone reach out to me in any way about selling our place, so really the only assistance I have had to this point at all, is you responding to my initial customer service message that no one had ever contacted me in the first place." Jeeeeeezus... Two days later the same customer service agent contacts me noting they never received that initial contact from me - to which I responded by forwarding her the confirmation message from the first day - see above. Embarrassing. 5 minutes later I get a call from an agent, but can't answer as I am on a work call. I call back all excited to get things going and she says "the area where your home is is saturated with agent listings at the moment and we have no one that can help you" And BYYYYEEEEEEE...what a ride for that terrible let down. We recently purchased a home using Redfin and it was a great experience. Chris Daniels was our selling agent. He is a great guy! He's very personable and he definitely knows what he's doing, which was good because we had no idea what we were doing! Chris walked us through the whole process and everything went very smoothly. The Redfin website is great to find homes for sale and the app. is even better. Even if you aren't planning on using Redfin to buy/sell, you should download the app because it is very helpful. We're very happy with our new home and very thankful to Chris and the other Redfin agents that made it happen. read more

I didn't had good experience with redfin. being first time home buyer, I was expecting more from redfin. Multiple issues (1) area of house was less than the area in tax record. This company should have done some homework. I could know it only after bank appraisal. it was too late. I had to either loose earnest money or start again. The only thing i head from redfin was sorry. I got less area for extra money redfin still got thier full brokerage. I was on loosing end. (2) Later i realized, my redfin agent didn't negotiated well. I felt he was favoring seller more. There were many aspects he should have taken into account in case of resale. (3) pretty much no phone call or status update. every time I had to call him for updates. (4) I was expecting redfin as a company will help if any of his client face difficulty but nothing. Overall,I am very disappointed with redfin. my suggestion will be to get a agent based on referral redfin is a not a team, it is a group and it may not work for you. read more

We went through Redfin to both sell and buy our home. We worked with Heather Trocmet and she was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable and helped us get our house ready to sell as well as choose a new house that checked our boxes. Her advice through the whole process was invaluable! Elizabeth Albeita, the seller's agent made the transaction very difficult. We were the homebuyers and I couldn't help but feel bad for the sellers for being stuck with such a bad sellers agent. She put us and the sellers thru the wringer and stressed everyone out with mal-informed decisions and unnecessary threats. First she listed the property over-value. Then when it didn't sell she listed under value. When we bid on the house for the asking price and the appraisal came in lower, she blatantly accused us (buyers) of playing her when we offered the appraisal value. After being told that we would be a day late on closing almost 5 days in advance, she threatened us with a breach of contract. At the same time she told her clients (sellers) to show up on original closing day at the title office and made them drive 20 miles each way for nothing. She stood them up. Throughout the transaction she sent a barrage of rude emails and texts of a threatening demeanor. I cannot stress how badly everyone was treated in this deal. I would not recommend Redfin to anyone and much less Elizabeth Albeita. The incentives for these people to do their job is frankly not there. If I had to do it all over again, I'd avoid any Redfin property. read more
