My dog is suffering from flees. This WAS our vet. I called to see what they could do and they said they would have to examine her (Get more money form me) but they are booked out until August so she just has to suffer. What a racket! I'll have to call around now and find a good Vet. They make you wait in the parking lot anyway. Done with Redding Vet! read more

Wow! I am so impressed with Dr Townsell. It's very hard to find a vet now that is accepting new patients, much less a good one, and Dr Townsell is probably the best Vet I have ever taken a pet too. She is very thorough and you can tell she really cares about animals and also my concerns. She spent so much time talking to me in depth about my newest puppy and all the questions I had about pet insurances, Flea, Tick and Heart-worm preventatives, the Rabies vaccine and when it was safe to give to such a small dog. I never felt like she was rushing to get to her next patient, the way I have with some providers. I was also surprised at how reasonable my bill was!! I have more experience with Veterinarians than I care to admit, so trust me when I say, Redding Veterinary Clinic Amazed me! They are on Westside Rd right next to Fire Station #3 and across from AM/PM and Jack In The Box, you can see their mural from 273. read more

Dr. Townsell has taken care of both my dog and my older cat, my cat loves her and her staff. My dog is a bit nervous but Dr. Townsell and her technicians have that special touch that eases his worry. The hospital staff are very knowledgeable and are always ready to help with any request or question. Dr. Townsell is kind, very thorough and an experienced, trustworthy and very knowledgeable veterinarian. She explains in detail the diagnostics that are preformed, either in person or with a personal phone call. Redding is lucky to have RVC, they truly care for their patients. read more

I was worried that the new vet would not be as great as Dr. Bond, but Dr.Evelyn is awesome. She sat down on the floor with Tucker and made him feel safe. She answered all my questions and spent a great deal of time with us. We are very happy! read more

My wife and I highly recommend Dr. Townsell and this clinic. We have a very old cat (19 years) who got some kind of respiratory virus, with coughing, sneezing, and a runny nose. She was declining steadily, could eat very little, and got to where she weighed almost nothing, despite our best efforts to feed her. She was dehydrated, matted, and down literally to just skin and bone. We'd taken her to other vets but they were not helpful. Our old friend continued to get worse. We were then lucky enough to take her to Dr. Townsell, who examined her thoroughly. She gave us simple and what turned out to be very effective advice on how to get her rehydrated and able to eat again. Her staff was very helpful as well. The results of following her advice have been extraordinary. Our old girl has gained back the lost weight and has a great appetite. She's shed all the mats, has a healthy coat of fur, and is back to being alert, active, and happy. I call that very good doctoring. read more

Im new to the Redding area and brought my 11 year old lab mix here for a wellness exam and some vaccinations. This was our first visit. Thier prices are average. The nurses were all very friendly. One spent extra time contacting my old vet to check on what kind of heartworm/tick disease tests my dog needed. The Doctor himself was also friendly but fairly short with us. I'd say he spent a total of 2 minutes examining my dog. He checked her breathing and teeth but didn't check her eyes or ears. He was backing out of the room into the hall as he asked if we had any other concerns. read more

I wanted to bring my new dog there and explained she's very anxious that I recently am widowed and needed to go w her because she's new to me and senses my anxiety but the girl said the place was too small for me to go in and they don't make any exceptions. I had taken my previous dog there for 15 years. I am so disappointed. I now go to VCA Gateway Animal Clinic where they let you go in with your pets. read more

I'm hoping that updating this review doesn't erase my previous review, as I still can not recommend this veterinary practice overall. However, Mookie has healed up beautifully. The incision site is just about perfect, you can hardly tell that her skin was broken. There is barely any scar tissue too. So the surgical side was excellent. read more

Dr.Bond and his staff were highly recommended by a friend. Our first visit far exceeded our dreams to find a vet for our 15 month old very high energy male German Shepherd, Micah. There were no behavior issues beyond normal apprehension after unhappy experiences with a previous veterinarian. He sat for his booster shot and brief exam quietly with lots of love from everyone. The love and caring in this office is in the air for all who enter to feel. It was an amazing experience. We are so grateful and blessed. Thank you Dr. Bond, Judy and staff for restoring our confidence and calm, so we could then pass the same onto our beautiful sweet happy boy. Bill and Gail Westfall read more

writing to let people know that when you and your pet are desperately seeking help this business doesn't care. my dog and I have gone here for approximately eight years. my dog has suddenly gotten very sick and I took her to a local vet for urgent care. I didn trust their conclusions or their motives so I wanted to talk to dr bond for some help. his receptionist said they didn't get involved with those situations. Apparently my dog and I don't matter. read more

I am so upset with your standard if dental Care. Bugzy has had his teeth cleaned here every year and the last being March of this year 2019 before moving in April. Not once have they shown me ANY X-ray, offered to take x-rays, or mentioned that he should have x rays done. My dog Almost DIED!! He just had 11 abscessed teeth pulled 2 of which infection was to the Bone with bone loss!! This did NOT just happen since his last cleaning in March this has been an ongoing issue progressively getting worse due to no x-rays being taken. I am sickened that this could have been prevented had x rays been taken or a simple recommendation for x rays. Don't assume you're taking care of your pet just by having his teeth cleaned without xrays. I almost lost my dog due to your lack of medical treatment. You need to be offering x rays, You can't see the abscess happening below the gum all those times I was telling you he was twitching his head because I thought something was in his ear, multiple times I mentioned this, not one did you say he may be in pain, he may need an X-ray of that area. He was twitching from pain, it was an abscess tooth infected down to the bone. And no you wouldn't have known this without an x-ray. I can't imagine the amount of dogs who are walking around in pain with medical issues on their death bed like mine was due to abscess teeth because they have not gotten x-rays to find it. There is a tooth in this picture in this baggie that is completely black this has been going on for months and months and months. He has suffered bone loss due to this. X-rays will be emailed to me shortly and I'll be glad to share those as well. I suggest you up your dental plan to include X-rays and start reevaluate your standard of dental care. I'm pissed off Response to reply: Had you X-rayed my dog in April 2018 or March 2019 you would have found the 2 abscess that had been there so long it was into the bone. You Never xrayed his mouth in ALL the YEARS of cleaning. Your excuses don't change that. read more

Our dog was feeling sick for days and the doctor was so kind. The next day our pit was on the mend and is doing great. The staff was awesome and so friendly. The infection disappeared so fast. I will go back again. read more

I just wanted to leave an update, I was asked to change my review after some communication with the office and the refund of the medication issues I had. Sadly my dog Max passed away Sunday night. He was diagnosed with fleas and an infected anal gland Friday. I'm left with questions as to what happened and why he passed so suddenly. He was given a 3 month pill for fleas and only had 2 of the antibiotics. I am devastated and feel guilty. After reading some of the other reviews I wonder if he was even given a complete exam? Did his temperature get taken, was his body felt? Did the techs just release his anal gland or did anyone feel if it was perhaps ruptured? I'll never know since I wasn't allowed in from the covid precautions. His time in the office was less than 10 minutes and I'll never feel okay with what happened. Out of 12 reviews 4 are not good at this office that's 33.33% of patients. I wish I would have turned to yelp before I was unhappy with the office myself and my indoor living dog unexpectedly passed away. read more

The Redding veterinary clinic gave our 5 year old dog a shot without our permission. Didn't ask for previous records and did not ask if he had any allergies. They tried charging us 104$ when we only asked for an examine that is 55$. after going back in multiple times they said we had to pay 94$. This was still ridiculous for we did not give permission for the shot nor requested one. They said to pay what we could now and then pay the rest later. That is when I had to bring up the legal matter of which giving a shot to an animal without the owners permission or request is in fact illegal. They went back in again and concluded to only pay the 55$. They will do what they can to screw you out of your money. Even put on the record that we were "refusing to pay for service" maybe next time be honest with your customers and don't do illegal activities in a professional business. read more

I have been going to RVC for over 40 years, First with Dr. Troop and Linda. Now Dr. Bond is the Vet. Believe me when I say they are the very best, I have had to use others in an emergency and i will say no more about that. I've gone there so long they know my voice. " Howard what do you need" The love and care for your small pets as well as they will treat you is be on belief. The crew is the very best. Have a new found kitten and took her in for an exam ! Everyone at this clinic was very kind and concerned as I for my kitten! We came home with meds and good advice for her care! I love Dr. Bond and his team. They've been amazing in giving our ailing pup the most comfort in her final months.

I was new to Redding and needed a vet for my Anatolian Shepherds (livestock guard dogs). I was referred to Dr Bond and Redding Veterinary. I couldn't be happier and my dogs received great care. One of my dogs, Sam, required several overnight stays for an extended course of heartworm treatment, discovered when I got the dog and took him to Dr Bond for a checkup. Sam has recovered well. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and they clearly love animals. Their charges seemed quite reasonable. I am taking my two new Anatolian puppies in to them today for booster shots and a checkup.. read more

Dr. Bond and his staff are wonderful, we have taken all of our dogs to him for various reasons over the years and they are always so well taken care of. Do NOT take your pets here, we took our dog in for an allergy visit, the vet did not tell us what she has, he did however tell us what the medications are that we could give her to make her better, but refused to write us a prescription because he wants us to pay full price for the medications at the office-. We can get it a 1/4 of the price online with a prescription, he'd rather the dog not get the medication she needs, than to buy online. So sad. Our pup will not be going back there. read more

They took great care of my (almost yr. old) puppy last week. Sensing my apprehension when dropping her off for surgery, they allowed us to walk to the back room and even meet the Vet's (super well trained/behaved) personal dogs. What sweeties they were ... that was the highlight for my 10 yr old! The staff explained the procedure & everything so well and were most complimentary of our girl when we picked her back up that afternoon. Pets are like family ... and my heart felt good leaving her in their care! Thank you Redding Veterinary Clinic! read more

I wrote a review on Facebook regarding this vet clinic and had to sign up on YELP to give a shout out for this great clinic. If you are like me and love your pets but also have a typical working family budget consider this clinic as top notch and considerate of pets and owners. Though I was happy with my prior vet clinic and their beautiful new, LARGE facility, I was at odds with a quoted fee of $500 for a teeth cleaning. 3 animals x $500 is loads of money. I told them I would have to shop around. I took my outdoor squatter cat to Redding Veterinary Clinic as the test animal, I was thrilled with how they treated him. The staff obviously loves animals and the cranky cat with the funky eye was purring away as the gave him a shot in the arse. I just took the dog in for a checkup and scheduled him for a teeth cleaning at less than 1/2 of $500. I will post another review after I have a dog with clean teeth. I do recommend you check out Dr. Gary and his staff. read more

He does not look at the pet, it is cheaper than any other place in town though. It is difficult to get vaccinations done too. My sweet dog had been brought to him a few times, given a topical, took her to Westside Vet just cuz my guinea pig was going there (Dr. Sherrie specializes in small pets, most other places don't) turns out my dog had cancer and was dead 4 months later. We thought it was another uti. Dr. Bond won't run tests to find out. Anderson vet though is not a good place to go, they try to charge you to do things unnecessary, they wanted us to spend a few hundred to a thousand on every pet we ever took there, then made us feel like sh*t for saying no, and leaving with just antibiotics. Every time the dog or cat was fine, and is still alive today. They really really make you feel bad if you aren't very wealthy and love love love to to surgery that is not needed and would have mad things worse. Our older dog is who we took, he is still alive, they wanted to do a huge surgery on a small wound he had opened up, it healed on its own to the size of a dime and now, years later, is gone completely. The surgery would have made it difficult for him to walk and really stretched his skin, giving him constant tightness and pain for years. Anyway, Dr. Bond barely touches the pets, he somehow got my husband to buy $73 of flea stuff, we don't need, because of bumps on her butt, which he never even lifted her tail. read more
