My family moved to beautiful Redding over a year and a half ago and don't regret it all. What's…read morereally shameful and frustrating that we're hearing from others in the community as well as our own experience is Redding Electric Utility lacks grace with its customers. It's another bureaucratic money making utility that definitely runs a monopoly on this is us who live in the city itself. There needs to be some more programs for people who struggle during seasons of financial hardship. I had surgery the beginning of July and am recovering, have a job to go back to but no income until I go back, all while my wife is holding down the fort (barely) All the while not getting any grace on our bill to help juggle, instead they just turn you off. Then to top it off they close out your bill and make you come up with an upwards of 1700 dollars to reinstate. Something needs to change in the way they conduct business. Yes they have a business to run, but also yes, they should be helping serve. My wife works from home and now our power is out. Thanks Redding electric for opening our eyes to your shady and graceless business practices.

The City of Redding is not only worth the time to explore, it's a gateway to so many wonderful…read moretreasures in lesser trafficked Northern California. I've been here a handful of times - always on my way to or from somewhere else - year I've always wanted to spend more time here after discovering some of the local goodies. For starters, everyone should stopover at the magnificent piece of architecture that is the Sundial Bridge, the neighboring arboritum, and the Turtle Bay nature preserve. The downtown has plenty to explore as well, including countless small shops and restaurants in a very walkable environment. Lastly, it's within an hour of piety of natural splendor, including multiple lakes, rivers, Lassen National Park and lake and Mt. Shasta. Like any reasonably sized city, there are some downsides. Get in the wrong part of town and you will find some crime and more drug use than some other cities of its size. Take the mostly good with the little bad and you have a new place to visit! I'd recommend Redding to anyone looking for a foothold on exploring the northern part of our state.

Things and stuff in Redding…read more.. The coronavirus changed the way people live and how businesses operate. Redding has plenty of outdoor activities from hiking to fishing to kayaking... not to mention within a 30 mile radius of Redding are more than 600 square miles of State and National Parks and Forests open to public access. You'd be complying with social distancing! Redding is known as the "Trails Capital of California" unfortunately, I'm not an avid hiker. I live through hiking photos from seasoned hikers, Elmer and Shayla. I do enjoy sightseeing and beautiful scenery so we do "some" hiking. Redding experiences over 300 days of sunshine, Redding is the 2nd sunniest city in the U.S and last week we came to spend a weekend here. It was 108° degrees, humid, then the following day thunderstorm! Forbes Magazine named Redding a "Top 10 Fishing Town in North America." The Sacramento River runs clear and cold right through the heart of Redding and is California's longest river beginning near Mt. Shasta and flowing into the San Francisco Bay. All of Redding's drinking water comes from the Sacramento River. Redding is home to the Cascade Theatre which opened Friday, August 9, 1935. It's got some historic background behind it and, supposedly, it's haunted! Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 it remains temporarily closed. Under Governor Newsom's plan, venues like the Cascade Theatre will not be able to reopen until stage four. Damn this pandemic! Lastly, we saw for the first time The Sundial Bridge. The bridge is pretty famous and is a California icon and one of the largest working sundials in the world. It is a pedestrian bridge over the Sacramento River in the heart of Redding. Beautiful bridge. Saw it in the daytime and nighttime. Redding is not exempt from wildfires. In July 28, 2018 the city experienced one of the California's large wildfire that burned in Shasta and Trinity Counties -- The Carr Fire. This was big news in Northern California. The fire burned 229,651 acres destroying many homes and structures and, sadly, deaths. I found it ironic that the Carr Fire was caused by a car... yup, the fire started when a flat tire on a car caused the wheel's rim to scrape against the asphalt, creating sparks that set off the fire. So sad. We have not experienced a good dine-in restaurant in Redding because of the pandemic. I'm not fond of takeout too much. Once in a while I like to be served inside a nice restaurant. Energy Docs - Home Energy Audit. We pressurize all duct systems, and evaluate how much of your conditioned air actually gets into your home.

My wife and I are so glad that we decided to use Energy Docs as our contractor. During the summer…read moreour AC was constantly running and struggled to keep the inside below 80 degrees. Our ducting was also beginning to tear and break apart, so we kept finding pieces of ducting in our air registers. We called several contractors and eventually decided to have Energy Docs come see our home. Mike and his crew came and did some tests to see how our home was actually performing. After the test, he gave us a report that gave incredibly detailed information. We saw how much airflow we were losing from the house itself, how much airflow we were losing through our ducting, we even saw thermal imaging of where heat was entering our house through the walls and recessed lighting. He gave us estimates as to how much the project would cost, and how much we could expect to save. We were able to use the REU Home Performance Program which returned roughly half the project cost in rebates! During the project, the entire Energy Docs crew was nothing less than excellent. They started our project in early August, and spent the next two weeks baking in our attic. They would work until it was too hot to handle the materials anymore. With these conditions, they were still friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. They finished the project on time, and even slightly under budget. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and even did some repair work that made the house look even better. Two weeks after the project has been finished, it is a night and day difference in our home. There are no more temperature differences in the various rooms. Our house sits at a comfortable 75 degrees. My wife and I have been so relieved that the project went according to play and there were no horror stories. If you need any work done to your home, go see Mike and his crew. We will always recommend them, and will return should we need anymore improvements. Great job Energy Docs crew!

Our home is now comfortable and extremely efficient. His knowledge is beyond incredible. Mike is extremely punctual and knows his products! The whole HVAC system (including heat pump, ducting etc.) has made such a difference. Thank you Mike. We subsequently had Energy Docs (Mike Macfarland) install a state of the art solar system. Again, we cannot say enough about the savings we see with the new system. It is truly a pleasure to have someone so knowledgeable and trustworthy working on our home. We praise his skills and highly recommend Energy Doc.

The team was friendly, professional, and incredibly responsive -- they got me on the schedule quickly and showed up right on time. The technician who came out was knowledgeable and thorough. The quality of the work was top-notch, and everything was left clean and tidy when the job was done. What really impressed me was the pricing. I got quotes from several companies before choosing American Air, and they came in below the competition -- without cutting any corners. You can tell they genuinely care about earning your trust and your business, not just making a quick buck. This is the kind of company that restores your faith in good, honest service. I'll be recommending American Air to everyone I know, and they've absolutely earned a customer for life. Sincerely Rick M.
