in love with this place. 11/10 coffee and they had the coolest rings and pens and other little gifts. everything there was handmade by the cafe owner and he was lovely. I bought a deer antler ring and i'm obsessed with it. could not recommend this place more. they also had a dog out front and the Highland cows across the way! super fun to feed them (it's costs 1 pound for some feed)

All 4 stars and if there were 6, they would get 6. Imagine Scotland: it's wide, wider, widest and there's only small roads (two tracks, one left, one right :)) and you can drive for hours without seeing a single car in front of you or behind you. Just love it! On the A887 between Inverness and the Isle of Skye, there's this one little red barn place built on the slope of the hill, where this great friendly couple (mid 50ies) run there shop/restaurant/restroom. They live with 8 neighbors spread out in this small community and they are almost completely selfsupporting: grow there veggies, have chickens for eggs, bake there own bread, etc. Great service they give, make you breakfast, help out with your route, find ways to please you. Not overdone, just right. It feels like home but even better :)

Lovely cafe on road from Fort Augustus to Isle of Skye:-)

Cute, cozy cafe next to the Victorian Market…read more Best espresso and matcha in Inverness. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is amazing. The focaccia is delicious and the vegan pastries are the best I've ever had. They're also super accommodating of dietary restrictions.

I didn't come to Scotland for the Doughnuts, but by God, if you're going to offer doughnuts, I'm…read moregoing to have them. We stopped in during our few nights in Inverness...twice actually...one when we didn't want anything, but compelled by "doughnuts" to explore what they offered in order to make a plans for a visit the next day...and then the next day came in and post-dinner we hightailed it directly up Church Street into night time Perk Coffee and Doughnuts (though the sign says "Dunk Coffee & Doughnuts"?) At night, they switch from coffee and large doughnuts to cocktails and small doughnuts. We skipped the cocktail part as our next stop was whisky, and we ordered up 3 small doughnuts. We had chocolate cherry, banana, and passionfruit mango. The passionfruit mango had a jam inside it which was a little too sweet for our tastes, and it was hard to discern the passionfruit flavor. I liked the chocolate cherry one. It had a nice and rich chocolate ganache which blended very well with the cherries. The other really good one was the banana. My wife is a sucker for custard-filled donuts, and this banana one was the star of the show for her.. They're all-yeast donuts, and the doughnut itself is not the most yeast-y I've ever had in terms of light texture, but it wasn't bad. The staff was super friendly (especially on our exploratory visit when we clearly weren't buying anything) As with any place like this, they might run out of doughnuts, so plan accordingly! It's also a tiny place with only a few seats inside and a couple of tables outside, so plan where you're going to eat your doughnuts (and/or drink your coffee and/or cocktail) accordingly too!
