Full Scottish and partial Scottish with tea
    Noah S.

We stopped here before going to John o'Groats and the full Scottish hit the spot. If not for this breakfast the trip simply would've been a disaster. The lady working the tables was very friendly however was spread thin. The cafe is small but all the tables were full and she was WORKING. Maybe it'd be nice for her to have a companion aside from just the line cook who seemed nice too. Anyway great spot would recommend.

Lovely spot for breakfast. Cute decor, with a nod to old Hollywood cinema. Like most places in Inverness, it's small and can get crowded fast. If there's a wee wait, it's worth it. I tend to order and enjoy things which I normally would not make myself. Especially so when I travel. To that end, the full Scottish it is. This is not a light meal. It isn't nuanced. Not delicate. It's a well-crafted left-jab and right-uppercut of heartiness and flavor. I've had blood puddings as bland as can be. But not here. It's seasoned and griddled well. Same can be said for the fried haggis. I frankly love haggis in its most traditional form as plated on Burns' Night, or fried with a nice crunch on a breakfast plate. Everything else from the sausages to mushrooms, to the egg with custardy yolk, it was delicious all around. After my wife and I had a plate each, we walked the city for about 6 miles just to burn off 25% of those calories. It was all worth it. Thanks for a memorable meal and to the lovely ladies who served and tan the establishment, much love to you for the care.

We had a very good breakfast here whilst in town. My husband ordered the porridge and the largest bowl of oatmeal that we've ever seen arrived, piping hot and loaded with cream, bananas, strawberries, raisins and sunflower seeds. This was enough for 2 people, and, while he made a valiant attempt, he didn't finish it. I ordered 2 poached eggs with toast. The eggs were poached perfectly. Coffee was so-so, and I'd skip it next time and get it down the street where it's better. This is a little mom and pop place, and service was friendly and efficient.

I saw that The Rendezvous Cafe was open for breakfast, so I decided to try it out. I ordered the poached egg with an extra of avocado. The food tasted great but I found it to be very expensive for what I got. I ordered the poached egg, where I was supposed to get one, but ended up getting two because the first egg broke as it was being cooked, so I got two eggs. I thought it was a bit cheeky to be asking so much money for something so small. The staff were very nice and everything was great. The restaurant is small and not great for big groups. I sat outside and was so happy that the weather was great. The cafe was very busy, which was a great sign

Excellent, covid-friendly cafe with excellent breakfast (sold until noon!) and great service. We couldn't have asked for a better breakfast before hopping on a train. We chowed down. The food was well cooked - who doesn't love a Scottish Brekkie!

We saw that this place was open early for breakfast so we decided to try it. Food was good, nice easy walk from our villa and the atmosphere was fun. Reminded me when I was little and watched Laurel and Hardy on Sunday mornings with my dad (one of there movies was playing). Overall a very good place for breakfast.

Arrived around noon and was looking for some eggs and toast. Looked up and decided on Rendezvous. Quick service produced a hot tea and 7-item Scottish breakfast with egg, 2 sausage links, toast, tomato, mushrooms and beans. Food was tasty and for 10£ definitely a good choice. I sat outside on a, at the time sunny day and people watched!!

after a ton of research on what to eat for breakfast, my family ended up coming here. a top reason was because the beatles performed here at one point. reasons why this yelper gave rendevous cafe two star? prices were fair and portion size is decent. service wasn't excellent just average. but honestly what it truly boiled down to was the food. everything we ordered was just not tasty. we left pretty dissatisfied. we honestly felt like we could've made it better. food wasn't memorable. therefore for this foodie, my little fam bam just can't recommend it. ordered: *french toast $4.95 *6 item scottish breakfast *Belgian liége waffles $3.05 tips: *street parking *indoor seating only *cash and credit accepted *there's TV *order take out and receive 10% off *Kitchen closed one hour before closing time. *During the last hour we serve drinks and desserts. *they have a website *they are one of the top trip advisors restaurants.

The World Cup Game was on so it was lively and fun. I will tell you, this was some of the best seasoned food we had the entire time we were in the UK (two weeks). Finally we didn't feel the need to add salt to something. The flavor was just spot on. My husband had the beer steak pie with puff pastry, I had the Cullen skink, my son had a pizza (I can't remember if it was on the kids' menu or not) and my daughter had a Caesar salad with chicken, which she eats a lot at home and had been craving. Both the skink and the stew were perfectly flavored! The fish in the stew was tender and so was the steak in the pie. If we ever go back to Inverness, we will be sure to be returning to Johnny Foxes. Oh! And our waiter was wonderful! I don't remember his name but a young blonde man with a mullet kind of haircut. Thank you to him!

Our choice of wine, Sancerre, was excellent. I ordered the scallop appetizer that was good, not great. The scallops were sweet, the sauce also good, but it was a bit overpowering for the scallops. Our mains included the seabass cooked in a tandoori style. The fish was good and flavorful, but the preparation dried the fish and in my opinion, did not enhance the flavor. The fish was accompanied by a combination of truly delicious vegetables-cauliflower, potatoes, broccolini. My wife chose the cod in a light creamy sauce, with gnocchi, pearl onions, peas and small clams. I think her dish was the superior selection. The food quality was first rate. I think the preparation of my dishes missed the mark a bit. It was late and we were tired, so we did not order either dessert or coffee or tea. It is a nice place with a great staff and ambiance. The quality of the food is absolutely superior, the preparation was not to the level of the food.

We stopped in during our few nights in Inverness...twice actually...one when we didn't want anything, but compelled by "doughnuts" to explore what they offered in order to make a plans for a visit the next day...and then the next day came in and post-dinner we hightailed it directly up Church Street into night time Perk Coffee and Doughnuts (though the sign says "Dunk Coffee & Doughnuts"?) At night, they switch from coffee and large doughnuts to cocktails and small doughnuts. We skipped the cocktail part as our next stop was whisky, and we ordered up 3 small doughnuts. We had chocolate cherry, banana, and passionfruit mango. The passionfruit mango had a jam inside it which was a little too sweet for our tastes, and it was hard to discern the passionfruit flavor. I liked the chocolate cherry one. It had a nice and rich chocolate ganache which blended very well with the cherries. The other really good one was the banana. My wife is a sucker for custard-filled donuts, and this banana one was the star of the show for her.. They're all-yeast donuts, and the doughnut itself is not the most yeast-y I've ever had in terms of light texture, but it wasn't bad. The staff was super friendly (especially on our exploratory visit when we clearly weren't buying anything) As with any place like this, they might run out of doughnuts, so plan accordingly! It's also a tiny place with only a few seats inside and a couple of tables outside, so plan where you're going to eat your doughnuts (and/or drink your coffee and/or cocktail) accordingly too!
