Though I miss seeing the sign for its humorously named predecessor (the "beer, baloney, and more" store), Hensley's is an upgrade in terms of food! In addition to standard gas station snacks, Hensley's cooks up burgers and chicken sandwiches as well as a southern plate lunch each day. They also have a small salad bar. Desserts include fried pies; I thought I saw a sign for ice cream too though I never spied a machine. The place is hoppin with locals and it's clear word has spread. There's not a lot of super convenient options in the area but even still, we enjoyed our meal. My coworker had visited before on an earlier trip I didn't attend and she enjoyed their Philly cheesesteak. This time, she got a chicken bacon ranch wrap and onion rings. I think the prices are fair. Service was nice and helpful. Overall, this is a solid stop for some fresh grub in an area that was previously mostly bereft of options. Give them a try if you're passing through.
