The service at this Geneva, IL location was terrible. My wife and I entered the store anticipating that someone would approach us to assist with finding a pair of boots. Instead, there were two younger girls (one was the cashier named Ashley) and a young man who sat behind the desk and were giggling the whole time until I reached the desk. I had to interrupt them and ask if they could help me find some boots. I mentioned that I saw a pair from the Red Wing web site and showed them a picture of them. The young man said they have those and asked Ashley to show me the pair on display. I looked at the boots and they looked good to me. Ashley asked me what size I would like and I said "I'm probably a size nine". Before she went to get the boots, I said, "I was hoping you would verify my shoe size since your web site indicates that you offer 'expert fitting'. So she directed me to this machine that I stood on and it ran through some calculations to determine that I was a size nine to nine-and-a-half. So I suggested to bring out the size nine. Ashley brings out the boots and I liked the fit. So I agreed to purchase these boots and Ashley completed the transaction. Before I could leave the store, the three of them were back to giggling. This entire experience was so unprofessional. The only saving grace is that I know Red Wing boots are really well made and I could not go wrong with just about any of them. However, you would not expect this type of service from a reputable store such as Red Wing. These three workers were very unprofessional and I cannot understand how they were hired in a service department. I was treated as though I was an inconvenience to them. No details or anything else regarding the boots was mentioned. If I was the store owner, and it is indicated on the 'Please Recommend Us!' leaflet that this store is locally owned, I would take serious consideration into who is working at your store. The leaflet also mentions contacting Kyle Latronica (630) 845-3128, which I intend to do as well. read more
