Jackie informed me that anything they do would fade considerably by the time my event came around. She said she would ask her boss for a recommendation in California and call me back. Within five minutes, she called me back with the name of a salon in California. They went above and beyond without knowing me. They were honest with me as to what the results would look like if I did it a week ahead of time, even if it meant losing the business. When I do decide to use a tanning salon in New York, this will be the only place I will be calling. This is old school customer service at its best!

They apologized for what happened and reiterated that this isn't how the store is run and they never turn away customers. They extended my package and gave me a couple extra tans for my inconvenience. I truly appreciate both of you reaching out and helping to alleviate my frustration. You went above and beyond! I've been using this location on and off for several years. I've honestly never had an issue here until today. I've used several diff beds and I've also been airbrushed tan here. However tonight was really off putting. I went in at 551pm and they refused to let me tan. For the record I've come in around closing before (on SEVERAL occasions) and have never been turned away. Either lock the front door if you're not going to allow customers before closing or have a explicit sign up stating what time the last tan is. If you close at 6, I expect to be able to tan before 6 unless noted elsewhere. I don't know the name of the girl that refused me, I just know I've never seen her face in there before. Honestly disappointed in Beach Bum because I typically get great service in here and usually really like the girls but this was enough to really turn me off and write this.

Melanie is by far the best tannist I have experienced in Beach bum and anywhere. I've been coming to BB for a spray tanning since my 2022 wedding and 75% of time it is great which is why I keep coming back ...there really is nothing like an airbrush tan. Unfortunately however for the other 25% of the time the tannists have no idea what they're doing. It's like a hit or miss ....like getting a coffee at Dunkin' Donuts ...you walk right in and you have no idea what you're gonna come out with. Needless to say every tan is not created equal. A lot of this is clearly because managers are not even willing to admit the mistake in order to fix it (such as Paramus location) and are not training correctly. Or worse, enticing employees to be... well.. simply unlikeable. This is not all of them I've been to four locations and most of the time it's good, but it does happen way more than it should happen for the price we pay. However Melanie at Middle Village is perfect. She goes above and beyond to actually care about what she could improve and she really cares about the customers content when they come for a service. As a life coach I have helped hundreds of business succeed and what business needed was employees like Melanie. Melanie is amazing. Hopefully she's getting the recognition pay and respect that she deserves.

The manager of operations told me I can't clean my bed and that it was against health violations which it really isn't she just didn't want me to take away the job from the bed cleaner " because they get paid to do their job". The stand ups are disgusting they literally just keep resetting after each use and never bend down to actually sanitize the machine. It's a filthy filthy germ infested place.
