There were many times I went here over the years and walked around as a sort of meditation, sometimes even first time thing in the morning before I hit the road when I knew it was gonna be a tough day and you invariably would find that special deal and the rest of the day would be great RWBlue was organized, clean, a little crowded, but very easy to find what you were looking for ....everything had its place and there was a place for everything ....now I've gone back a number of times since they've changed their whole business model and they're very much like 2nd Ave. things are not as clean. They're definitely overpriced and I've never seen such a scattered mess in my life in a department store, layout.... usually most of what is there is what people are bagging up and dropping off at the dumpster there in the parking lot I'm very disappointed that they've gone so commercial...It does seem like they're cherry picking anything that's worth anything at all and leaving what you would probably find at the Salvation Army ....one step down from Goodwill. Definitely not a place where people would go to get great deals or find cool clothes or just what you wanted for the house, but didn't want to spend money on. NO NO NO Not that way anymore. Now I go in with a list I walk around try to find those things I want. Ask the girls where those things might be now and just like the department store. Things are sometimes even in two or three different places at once ....so like everything else, red, white and blue is becoming so commercial that it's not unique anymore.... it's blah blah, blah, and more blah. read more

Solid thrift store with variety! Red White & Blue in Trenton is one of those places where you never know what you're going to find, They've got a huge selection of clothes, furniture, books, housewares, and other stuff. Prices are fair, especially on sale color items and the store is generally organized for its size. It can get crowded and the checkout line moved very slow, which is the only reason I'm knocking off a star. But if you love the thrill of the hunt and don't mind digging a little, you'll leave happy (and probably with more than you planned on buying). Definitely worth the trip! read more

This is one of my favorite thrift stores in the area. Make sure to bring cash, and ample patience. The store isn't huge, but PACKED with second hand gems. This location in particular is great for their bags-- there is about two full aisles of bags right as soon as you walk in. There are no fitting rooms and only two mirrors in the whole store, so make sure to wear a tank top or tight shorts so you can try things on over your clothes if you're so included (pro tip). The line gets super long, but moves really quickly. Make sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards, and your own reusable bags. There's generally some sort of discount daily whether it be 50% or 25% off certain tag colors. Buyer beware though-- just because the item is behind the counter DOES NOT mean it's authentic. Your bag can also be used to hold your purchases till you get to the cashier. Bathroom is available in the back under the "Electrical" sign. Make sure you make sufficient time to shop at this place. Great items can be found, but you need time to sort through the assortment. Cashier lines are always long but they tend to move quickly. Patrons are typically polite to each other but if you need information, a staffer will always be hard to find. Oh yeah - cash only. No fitting rooms. I was out for another great day of thrifting and lunch enjoying some time with my daughter who is a fellow Thrifter. This location always delivers with high-quality items as I expect they get many donations from the high net worth Princeton, Lawrenceville area. So let's go through the six areas that I always use to assess a thrift store. Thrift store smell: The store gets a four stars. I rarely ever get that thrift store smell when I walk in here. It's not a large store so maybe they have a great ventilation but you won't experience it here strongly. Well organized: they get three stars for this. They do separate by gender, type of clothing item and color but they do not separate by size. So if you're looking for a short sleeve women's shirt in blue you can go to that section but then you will have to sort through that section to check to see if it is your size. Fitting rooms: For this they get a zero. They do not have fitting rooms. So the experienced thrifters have figured out how to wear leggings and a tank top if they want to try on dresses if you want to try on pants you have to wear a long skirt because shoppers was have created a fitting area in the back of the store because there are only two mirrors so everyone gathers around those mirrors and tries on clothes and women just pull the pants up underneath a skirt or pull dresses over the leggings and tank top. It would be great if they added a fitting room. Well Stocked: 5. The store always has great selection and you will definitely find high end and designer brands often you can snatch some pretty great items at really low prices. It's one of the reasons I particularly take the time to drive 30 minutes to this location. Condition of items: rarely do I find items with rips, Tears, broken zippers or missing buttons. As always when you shop thrift you should fully inspect items before purchase. Sales: They work on a color system. They have discounts based on the color of the week. On Saturdays it is usually all or multiple colors that are 50% off. There's also a senior discount. So be sure to check the color when you go in and if you have time go on a Saturday to save more. An additional tip. Be patient. It can get crowded on the weekends but the lines move very quickly. Also, they work on a cash only basis. I came here on a search for a few things for my classroom. It is a large and well-stocked thrift store. The selection is good, and the pricing is reasonable. Ample staff to help out. This is one of the best thrift stores in the area I highly recommend this place! Make sure you have cash on you because they are cash only! They have an ATM, but the fee is $3.99! You can buy a lot at the store for $3.99, just saying! They run sales every day different cells different colored tags are discounted! When I went last time, they were having 75% off yellow tags, 75% off-white tags, 50% off red tags, and 25% off blue tags, in specific departments. I love their toy section. If you're looking for Barbies, they have some of the old Barbies and bags for a certain price. Very good deal like $6.99, for four! No clothes some of them do have clothes! They have a random array of things from household items, clothing for men, women, and children. It's a must go to, store! I have found name brands for really good deal! Some of my favorite clothes are from that thrift store then I get compliments on all the time! Why shop at a department store for new clothes at triple the price when you can shop used! Very claustrophobic even in the middle of a weekday. Things aren't organized by size so it's harder to find things than at other stores. Most importantly, they have no fitting rooms and don't take returns. So unless it's something you can try over your clothes, anything you buy is a gamble. There's one little mirror in the back but people were crowding around it and I couldn't even get close to it Cash only. Pretty dusty feeling and stuffy as there was no airflow. 3 stars because the selection was actually pretty good. Prices a bit generally steeper than similar stores. Years ago I would have given RW&B 5 stars. It's still a great thrift store with lots to choose from and some deals. However, in recent years it has gotten much more pricey and you really have to search. With Goodwill and 2nd Hand stores opening, they need to watch their pricing. Those stores seem still pricier, but, not by much. Luckily, I brought my daughter up that there's no shame in thrifting and through the years we have found designer and good quality clothes/accessories. (Coach purse for $19.00!!) They might also have to add ressing rooms and taje credit cards (only cash) to compete with other thrift stores. All in all...still my favorite in the area. read more

Used to be the place to go, large selection and reasonable prices. They have gotten greedy, contrary to the premise of a thrift. Their tagged pricing policy, offering as much as 75% off on certain color tags is a joke. I guarantee you the predominant tag on items is the tag not listed for a discount that day. Still like the way they display clothing by color and size and a diligent shopper is bound to find a bargain, especially in the men's section (shirts, coats, jeans and sometimes shoes/sneaks). Don't particularly care for the cashiers at all. I guess having the cashiers hovering a few feet above the shoppers affects their ability to be cordial. Cash only transactions and bring plenty of it. This may be the wackiest review I can ever write. I did not go to the thrift store as a regular customer. I was told to take $20 and purchase clothing to wear for a team building function. I suppose the point was to be as outrageous as possible. I had no idea what I was in for. My team is based across the country and I guarantee they didn't have to deal with the over-crowdedness of this store. I went on a Saturday and you would have thought they were giving away money or Bruce Springsteen tickets. I wasn't sure where the line started or ended. I couldn't make my way down the aisles of clothing. I was overwhelmed and confused!! Here's the good part of my review--- there was some really cool stuff there and it was REALLY cheap!! I was able to get a pair of pants, a shirt and a sports jacket for $17.88. CASH ONLY!!! The point of the team building event was to re-donate the clothing back. I sent the pants back to the Vietnam Vets who send it to RW&B. I decided to keep the shirt and jacket since they actually fit well and looked great. I'm proud of these places who offer a great product and service to the community. You don't need to shop at Saks Fifth Avenue to get great clothing. Sometimes you'll find the same quality here at a drastically lower price. read more

There was a brief period when I graduated college - when I moved back to New Jersey with my sister and brother - and did absolutely nothing. Nothingness in San Francisco is fun. But nothingness in New Jersey - when you don't know how to drive, and are in walking distance to nothing - would be like eating the fifteen pack of hot pink marshmallow Peeps, sitting on my desk at this very moment - ALL in one sitting. During this brief time - my interactions with the outside world were limited to Friendster, the Maury Povich show, and marathons of Real World. Surreal - to the power of 5. Until one day, my younger brother - who also resided in the same said world of nothingness (outside of the ability to drive), was kind enough to offer to take me to Red, White, and Blue on a warm New Jersey afternoon. He even let me control the radio. Massive win. We pulled up to a large thrift store - with only an assortment of people combing the aisles for bargains. Always a good combination - if you're hoping to score some cheap treasures. With a strict time limit (imposed by my brother) - I went big. I scoured the aisles with diligence - and managed to find some old sports jerseys, a sorority sweatshirt (which was cut apart and modified), and some solid T-shirts. Red, White and Blue is vast and their inventory is constantly being rotated out. So while you may have poor luck one day, come another day, and you may find yourself with heaps of solid wonders strewn over your arms in front of a semi-jaded cashier. The hunt here - is what makes this place so appealing. Shopping here - is like a video game (which actually if you think about it - a thrift store video game would rule. I would definitely rock the high score) - you gotta have fast reflexes, quick eyes, and momentum to win Red, White and Blue. Wear comfy shoes (that slip off easy to try stuff on) I've recently become a thrifter and this place definitely made me feel like an amateur. I walked in at 11:30 am on a Monday (and no not a holiday Monday, just a regular Oct 17 Monday) and it was a zoo in here! I literally asked one of the attendants if there was some kind of super sale going on because I was shocked at how many people were in the store...I couldn't even find parking in their lot! But apparently this was a "slow" day for them, and nothing special. So I hit the aisles with my cart and was instantly taken aback at how many name brand shoes there were on the rack! There were Calvin Klein pumps, Michael Kors, ABS, etc. Some of the better name brands were priced a bit higher ($30) but were still in great condition. I snagged a pair of brand new Calvin Kleins for $7! I normally am not big into shopping for clothes or shoes at thrifts, mostly because it's all raggedy looking stuff, and like household things instead. But this thrift is the complete opposite. It actually has a great selection of name brand shoes and clothes (many of them brand new with tags on) and not as many good house things. I snagged 4 blazers Eddie Bauer, The Loft and Calvin Klein all costing from $4-$7. I enjoyed spending a few hours fueled with anxiety from the crowd, rummaging and hoping I would find some kind of Princeton mom's old Loubton shoes in the rack. Sadly I was not that lucky, but I still enjoyed looking around, I will definitely be back. One star off for no credit cards, any place that has an ATM but doesn't take credit annoys me. read more

Childhood & local thrift, my go-to it is always busy regardless of time and day. I've found my favorite shirts and jeans here for less than $15. Their collection varies from clothing, electronics, furniture (usually wood), Jewlery (costume & real), shoes, instruments, toys and more. Valuable items are stored behind the register and must be requested upfront to view/buy. Bilingual and friendly staff. Good deals but extremely cluttered! You have to be willing to do some digging. Very crowded too. Ive seen the register line extend from wall to wall dividing the whole store in half. I think the best time to go is if you go during the morning on a weekday. On Wednesday senior citizens get 50% off. read more

I haven't been to this place in years because I was always aghast at how pricey it was for a thrift store. However I was in need of some things for a little video shoot I was doing with some friends and decided to give this place another shot. Well, I can tell you that things have not changed. I saw a Polo shirt that was marked at $25. My first job ever was working for Ralph Lauren and you could definitely find that shirt on the clearance rack at a store like Macy's for not much more....and not have to worry about it smelling like old mothballs from someone's dead uncle's closet. Also the vibe in the store is super tense. There are super super long lines, queuing for your turn to get in front of a cashier. (Same as I remember from years ago). The air conditioning didn't seem to be working so it was hot, stuffy, and combine that with not good thrift store prices and it just makes for a soup of unpleasantness. Also there are no fitting rooms. If I am going to drop $25 for a thrift store shirt, I would like to be able to try it on My son found some comic books for a dollar each so at least there was a little bit of a score; however I definitely would wait another few years before going back again, if ever ;) read more

There are some great finds here, probably the best I've seen in a thrift store in a while, but the prices are INSANE! Kitchenware in boxes were marked up for no reason. A mortar and pestle for $24!? I could go to Home goods and get that for way less. If it's new with tags, forget trying to get a deal on it. Look out for the sale days and colors. That's your best bet for getting deals. Unfortunately don't have family or friends to bring to senior day (Wednesday) so can't take advantage of that. The goodwill in bordentown is not really worth the hike if you are looking for gems. Overall, cashier was super lovely and customers can be polite at times. Update: they hike prices on the clothes that are worth anything, so any 50% off is the original price they marked it as before the sale. Geeeez. read more

Toney the store manager on September 10,2022 was extremely to rude to the customers in the store she spoke on the loud speaker in an abrupt and very rude manor about the patrons children not being with their parents she said several times her your children this is not a playground. After spending time in a line wrapped around the store And spending over $200 just this particular day my bags beeped when leaving through the security bars. We were asked to bring the items back Toney asked who had rang us up and proceeded to say that the very nice cashier would check all of our items. This is the best thrift shop I have found in NJ. Great selection and wonderful prices. They are 100% better then the good will for selection and price. I always find fabulous deals in designer styles. If you love the hunt of second hand shopping this is the place. They don't have changing rooms so you need to know your size or do as I do and wear tight yoga pants and tank top so you can try on in the store. I can easily spend an hour or two in this store. I buy all my work clothes and shoes here. I purchased 8 designer work dresses, a suite 3 cashmere sweaters and a pair of shoes for $150 and it all looked new. They only take cash no cards. I am a thrift shop junkie, and I didn't find anything that even caught my interest. The few things that I did pick up and look at were tremendously overpriced. I moved back to the area after 15 yrs. Looking for some small wood pieces to refurbish to kill time during quarantine, so decided to revisit this place I used to pop into from time to time when I lived here before for some fun stuff. Well, I won't make that mistake again. I had to wait almost a half hour in the sweltering heat to even get into this place, I thought that meant that it would be worth the wait...I could not have been more wrong. It was chaos. I asked associates for assistance ( where are the dresses ) they couldn't understand me or speak English and made no attempt to find someone else that could ....also They only accept cash ( they have an atm there if you need it) . Now this is a REAL Vintage/Thrift store with cheap ass prices not like the ones in the city where a so called "Vintage ACDC" shirt will cost you $45.00. This is the only time I will say this ever but no thanks, I'd rather troop it to Jersey. (if you know me I really am not a fan of Jersey, not even when I used to live there. NOPE!) A year ago my boyfriend comes home with a bag full of clothes sarcastically I asked (because it was in a big brown plastic bag) "what'd you do shop at a thrift store?" and he replies "yes, how'd you know? it's like you're a psychic". No I am not pyschic, I'm not Cleo, from Jamaica...Jamaica, Queens. LOL Anyways, so from his bag full of goodies he shows me what he got and they were all name brand. He got a Dior suit, a YSL suit, two members only leather jackets, one in black and one in brown (yes leather in fuhreakin great condition), and a gray leather jacket (i forgot the brand name). And guess how much he paid for all these items? Well I really don't remember how much everything cost but I know the leather jackets were 5 bucks each [I know this because he still hasn't worn his brown memers only jacket]. I was really happy for him that he got all those items for dirt cheap. So I asked him where he went and he said "to my secret spot Red, White and Blue and I won't tell you where its at in Jersey"; Sorry to say but he obviously forgot that I'm a google queen and can find anything I want. DUH. I googled "Red, White and Blue Vintage Thrift Shop" and I found it instantly. So I went to this secret location of his with my sisters who I dragged with me and got lost a little bit on the way there HA! (Damn mapquest with the forks and shit directions) Even if it is deep in Jersey literally cricket town, it's well worth it. That day I went I got a Fendi messenger bag for $11.00, a blue clutch bag for $2.00 and two pairs of vintage shoes for $3.00 each. I really didn't take my time looking for clothes but I saw a couple of name brand items that were ridicuously cheap. For my sister I found her leather coach bag for $13.00 in great condition and she also bought gucci loafers for $30.00 yup gucci for 30 bucks. I was very jealous that it wasn't in my size :( Overall, this place is awesome the next time I go I'm definitely taking my time and literally browse through every aisle. I actually pass this place every day on my way home from work so I knew right where it was and I finally decided to check this place out one rainy Saturday. The place was packed - with goods AND shoppers. Shoppers just in the way, everywhere I tried to move, in tight aisles, shoppers and more shoppers, and kids running around unattended - grrr... Whatever, I'm looking for something, anything to make me go, "Ooooh." It never happened. This big arse thrift store with so many things - nothing. =o/ Nada, nada, nada, not a dmn thing... (What's Duke Ellington without that swing?) and for such a large store it was quite organized, kind of like an organized disaster area of sorts... anyway, they do have a grip of stuff, but nothing enticing really, and some of the stuff I thought was a bit overpriced for a thrift store, and for the condition these things were in (and I'm not talking about some would-have-been-mucho-dinero-in-it's-day type items either.)
