I used to travel to Austin or Bastrop to get my nails done but not since I have found Red Tip. Which works out well for me since it is closer. My nails always last 4-5 weeks. Got a Pedicure with my sister and grandparents (who are in their upper 80's) and everyone who works here is unbelievably sweet! The service is amazing, I've been to a lot of salons and this is the best in my opinion. They make small talk and were very gentle and genuine especially with my grandparents. RedTip nails is such a lovely local place to go in La Grange!! The staff is fairly friendly though you may have to wait to be seated anywhere even when the place is empty, I think it may be because they don't have many employees. Regardless it's worth the wait because they always do the best job in town!!! Their gel nails are incredible and the quality of their products must be why they stand out so much. They always do JUST the right amount of layers, never too many to where my nails look like blobs which previous salons have done to me. They are perfectly smooth and have lasted over TWO weeks with NO chips and NO peeling off!!! Seriously one of the best manicures I've ever gotten, especially at such a great price. I've had my nails done at Red Tip four times so far and will be back. I've been happy each time. My first visit I also had a face wax. If you have the chance, pass on that. As I was telling my friend, I can wax my own face and leave the hair that doesn't come out - for free. I don't need to pay someone else to do that. I pay to have someone tweeze the hairs that the wax misses. My old eyes have trouble seeing those hairs to tweeze them, but my fingers can feel them. I know when they haven't been removed. read more

Update to my previous review. I was going to this salon regularly so I started setting appointments. Don't appointments usually mean that the spot is reserved? Apparently not here! Each time I arrived they acted like they didn't know that I was coming, even though they verified that I was in the appointment book. I felt rushed through. Anyone with two working hands can cut, file, and paint their own nails. The point of a manicure is to feel pampered. Once they stopped pampering me, I stopped going. read more

I've given this place a few chances. They're pretty dismissive, even when you make an appointment. I've only ever gotten pedicures and dip manicures here. The pedicures are okay, but they seem to have trouble covering the whole toenail, while caking it up in some places. The dip manicure (all three times) hasn't made it a full week without cracking and chipping off. I didn't even know dip manicures did that. read more

So I have been getting my nails done for years and haven't had to many poor experiences but this was one of them. The man who did my nails was rough and very rude. The man who did my nails did acrylic instead of dip which I did not ask for but that was one of many issues. He soaked my nails to long leaving my hands dry and almost raw, he over filed them living them very thin and in combination with the soaking my fingers are currently burning and hurting. He then used gel over the acrylic leaving them patchy and shaped them poorly as well. Overall a very poor experience. read more

Horrible experience! They lady doing my nails kept telling me not to look at her , look at the tv. She did a refill for me with acrylic and gel polish, they were so thick so I asked her to file them down more with irritated her, she then put the gel on and a few rhinestones. I had gel all over my cuticles and super glue all over my fingers. Not to mention when she did my fill, she didn't go all the way to the cuticles. I looked like I already need a fill when I left. Next she started my pedicure, she did the worst job. She was rushing through it. Didn't trim my cuticles, exfoliated my feet for about 5 seconds on each foot, rinsed my feet without rubbing my legs and was prepping to paint my toes already. I told her to stop, got my purse, paid for what they had done so far and walked out. Went down the street and had another girl finish my pedicure. They were amazing! I made an appointment for my husband to get a pedicure. This would be his first. His sister in-law passed after a long illness, and we were traveling to her memorial service. Her requested attire was Hawaiian shirts, shorts, and flip flops. He doesn't wear flip flops and his feet really needed some attention so he thought this would a good time to have one. He waited a very long time, but he really didn't mind because it would be worth it. When he got home, I asked how it went and he said it was terrible. I looked at his feet and he still had dirt under his nails. He sat and watched as the women on both sides of him got one thing after the other. They got their cuticles pushed back and trimmed. They received 2 different types of shavings for their calluses. They got a scrub on both feet. He received a scrub on his left foot but not the right one. He got his nail trimmed and three out of 10 toes nipped at the corners. She did not clean underneath nor push back his way overgrown cuticles. He got 2 swipes of the grater and then she was done. I felt so bad for him I called the manager to let him know how disappointing his experience was and he said " yeah, yeah ", totally dismissive to me. I assured him I would review his business and he couldn't have cared less. I read other reviews about their dismissive attitude and rushing them through. They are absolutely true. In this time of such poor customer service wherever you go these people really take the cake. read more

I got acrylic nails and I was very dissatisfied. I wanted matte and they gave me gloss. The shape was nothing like I told them and they are too thick. Then they charged me $50, way to overpriced. I won't be going back. read more
