If you've ever visited a 7- Eleven, Cumberland Farms, WaWa's, Speedway, Sheetz, Quick Chek, Circle…read moreK and whatever other chain store gas and sip you could think of...it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a need to purchase a prepaid phone card or charger, a quarter pound hot dog, a can of dog food, chocolate syrup, a bag of ice, travel size Tylenol, a bag of pretzels or an iced coffee all in 1 small store....than this is definitely the place for you.

The thing about it, if we look it straight in the eye, is that sometimes -- no matter the face or…read morefacade we put on, no matter the genuineness of the intent or the falseness of it all -- some people just don't click. And I'm a person of colorful dress, effivescent personality and an all around cheery fellow and to think that my reciprocal would be receptive of this character is just plain folly - but I tried anyway. I forget my dern cell phone charging cable in Queens and thought to stick it out, you know, unplug and detatch from devices for a bit. But that proved a unsuccesssful concept because- truth be told, I had no true course plotted so I was going with my gut along with the world's worst sense of direction. Hefty counter crazy lady gestured with a flick of a chubby pointing fingers to the rear in a half hearted attempt to show me the general area for cell accessories way to the back by the ice among the poorly stocked shelves and spinny displays. "Buy it and try it" was all she'd advise me with so I was sure to tear at the box like a seven year old on meth on Christmas morning. And I laid down my selection of beef jerky but decided against coffee which I couldn't bear the thought of in her care. I've had really positive experiences at Cumberlands thus far, however I'll steer clear of this location for sure and had there been a simple slice of customer service decency, I'd add some stars and cast it off into the wild blue yonder -- but in this case, I just can't find it within myself to accept and glaze over such an obnoxiously toxic individual.

My family spent several days at a rental home a mile or so from Gracie's and, naturally, had to…read moregive the local diner a try. Gracie's is an elevated diner experience...all the breakfast and brunch things you could want, but up a couple levels from a classic greasy spoon diner. Not dissing the greasy spoon diner experience...love that...but this is based in that historical experience, with an overall nicer experience in terms of food and atmosphere. Also, before we get into the specifics, here are 2 words which would bring me in from just about anywhere: Donut menu. Yes, they make their own donuts here, and that's enough reason to stop in, take out, or worship at the front door. We got our donuts to go after the meal...The coffee was GREAT. Too often, coffee, which should be the opening star of a diner experience, can be flavorless, browned water. Here it was good. Bold as I needed it to be, and the perfect foundation for the rest of the meal. My next go-to if they have it brunch experience is biscuits. They have them...you can get a biscuit on its own or, heck, go for a mini biscuit basket! I live for a biscuit-forward establishment. The Full Breakfast (submitting biscuit or potatoes for the meat) would have been my choice, but I decided to roll my own and ended up with a biscuit, fruit cup, and side of Hash Browns. The biscuit was good, large, and perfect with butter and honey. They make the hash browns to order - large hash brown patties - and with 2 different orders of them at the table, one was overcooked, too brown, and not impressive...but the other was perfect and delicious...bordering on potato pancake territory in presentation and flavor. Our server was fantastic...we had a large party encompassing 3 different tables in the middle of a Sunday morning (On Easter no less), which is, of course, the busiest time of the week. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and never made us feel rushed. If I found myself in the Hudson Valley again, Gracie's would be a definite destination for me.

Pleasantly surprised by this adorable roadside "diner" type of restaurant Gracie's Luncheonette…read more Very clean, fresh flowers on the tables, views of a huge stream and forest. Service was very friendly. We loved the avocado toast, the burger sliders, the tuna melt and the house made sodas! The food was fresh and you could tell it was made with care. Both tables and bar seating available. Plus they have a nice selection of beer!
