She pointed us towards Matilde, a little store just off of the main street, we knew we had to stop in. When we walked in it felt like we were transported to a quaint flower shop in Europe. They have beautifully pre-arranged bouquets or single stem flowers so you can arrange your own. All of the flowers are in beautiful condition and they have a really cool variety full of unique varaites and colors that allows you to tap into your creative side. While the flowers are the MAIN event, they also have a few other unique and beautiful products including candles, books, and pottery. This is such a fun store to explore and will definitely be visiting again to curate a beautiful bouquet for my next dinner party!

An A+ for you, Matilde!

I sadly was unavailable for his birthday dinner with the family so I researched florists that were near his school. I stumbled upon Dundee florist on Yelp and headed to their website. Their website was easy to navigate and tailor the options to fit what I was looking for. I decided on a birthday balloon bundle with teddy bear. It was perfect! I ordered it online and had it delivered to his school on his birthday! He was so surprised and loved it he carried it everywhere that night and with him to dinner. It warmed my heart that he enjoyed the little surprise and felt special. My only wish for his birthday! My next experience was about the same. It was one of my closest friend's birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. Prior to the COVID year she would go all out for her birthday and dress up really fun on her special day at work. She wasn't feeling that excited for her birthday so I wanted to find something nice to give to her at work. Dundee florist was on the way so I decided to stop in and take a look. I hadn't been inside before though I knew it was always there. When I walked in I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for. Then I realized I could go inside the cooler and choose a few blooms on my own! That was extra fun, I chose six different colored roses and a few filler flowers and it turned out just lovely. Simple and pretty. A gentleman offered to wrap them for me and I even purchased a card too! I love being able to support a small business especially one that made it through COViD year! The blooms are gorgeous and having the option for delivery, balloon and teddy bear bundles, makes it a nice touch to reach more people!

We usually go to the store and I put together the bouquet. Let me start by saying the lady was very helpful but I can tell she was busy so it's understandable. We just walked in and picked out some flowers for $30. She threw them together and we took them home. I love going to flower shops and sometimes you find those people that are willing to go the extra mile. We definitely got in and out, but we were not extremely happy about the presentation. My son looked at me and was like I know you're gonna fix the fix those right, mom? I told him you already know what I was thinking. Here is a before, and after picture of what they look like when we walked out and how he will be taking them to his date tonight.

I'm impressed. This florist is amazing! I'm announcing I'm officially a loyal fan…read more Most of the flowers I've received throughout the years from various florists arrive looking beautiful, as expected. But after a few days, and often within a day or two, they begin to droop and fade in spite of my watering diligence. Unfortunately most florists don't know "Beginner Florist 101". Or if they do, they don't bother with this added chore: Before adding flower stems to an arrangement, the stem should be cut again, about an inch above the previous cut, while holding it under lukewarm water. This prevents a dry gap above the cut mark, so the stem will continue to absorb water and therefore last longer. If not done, the stem can't absorb water because there is a gap of air between the cut mark and the part of the plant that "drinks". When I cut flowers from my garden to add to an arrangement, I always partly fill my sink with lukewarm water and cut each stem again underwater before adding it to the water filled vase. After doing this, I often enjoy my cut garden flowers for ten days or more. You will know when your florist does this, as the subject of this review likely has done. Because most of their arrangements will look great for several days, and more often, for more than a week or more. And if you are fortunate enough to receive an arrangement filled with buds about to bloom, they might look as beautiful as mine do in the photo I'm posting five days after they arrived. They look like they're just getting started! I received them January 3rd, and today is January 7th. I'm impressed!!!

If you are planning on driving through Iowa but still want to take a piece home for yourself, then this is a good spot to stock up as well. The day we shopped here turned out to be the cashier's first day. We had a good time chit chatting about our travels on Route 66 and how we had been on the road for what felt like decades. With great service and a nice selection, this is certainly the best one-stop shop that I can think of for anything Omaha related.
