When he was returned to my husband, we were told he might have a reaction for a few days. What followed was not a mild reaction. Our cat came home unable to stand, refusing food, clearly in severe pain, and urinating on himself. He had previously received the same vaccine without any side effects. We contacted the clinic immediately and were repeatedly told this was normal. It was not. After four days of watching our cat in agony with no improvement, we called again and were offered a visit with another veterinarian. At that appointment, we were reassured that everything was fine. The veterinarian manipulated his leg to demonstrate that nothing was wrong and even suggested unrelated care. Meanwhile, our cat continued to suffer. After about a month, he was still severely limping and in obvious pain. We called multiple times. When we were finally able to speak with someone, it was suggested that he may have had a pre-existing condition, which was absolutely not true. We then sought a second opinion. An X-ray immediately revealed a broken hip. We were asked whether he had experienced major trauma, such as being hit by a car. Our cat is strictly indoors and had no access to anything that could explain such an injury. Because of the delay, our cat endured prolonged pain, had to be confined for an extended period, and developed additional strain and arthritis in the other leg. We also incurred significant out-of-pocket expenses. We reported the case to the veterinary board. Afterward, Dr. Prabakhar called my husband expressing concern about the situation and potential consequences. The difference between what we were repeatedly told and what was ultimately discovered is devastating. Our concerns were consistently dismissed while our cat was suffering. Based on this experience, we strongly warn other pet owners not to trust this clinic with serious medical concerns and to seek immediate independent opinions.

I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough, and this is my first time here despite living down…read morethe street for about a decade. I have a small feral colony that I've been dealing with for quite a few years and one cat that I've been feeding for 8+ years has finally started to let me pet her about six months ago and then she kind of started staying here at the house (with the rest of my feral hoard that have adopted me previously) and her mouth was killing her, and once she started to basically claw her face off, I had to get her looked at as soon as possible, and EVVC got me an appointment fairly quickly, and the outlook turned out to be better than any of us expected, so I'm hoping and a couple of days she will enjoy a fairly pain-free life again because now she's a full-fledged part of the family! I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff; from the first phone call through the pick up they were extremely polite, professional, and just pleasures to speak with, and they take the appropriate amount of time for each client's case. Over the years, I've had some debt inducing trauma from vet bills and this may be the first time that I've ever had an estimate come in under the discussed estimate, so I will take those savings on this cat and immediately bring in another little Ferrell that needs some medical attention... as well as one of my own.

I began to think the doctor wanted to be least restrictive but then realized her decisions involved more money. My dog has severe allergies and I continued expressing that the shots aren't working. She wanted another visit to prescribe it which I couldn't understand because she told me weeks prior, if the shots aren't working then apoquel will be prescribed so why do I need to come back again? There was a line today upon checking in, however, it sped along well. This review is once again, for their vaccine services. I have not encountered an issue for these services. Thankfully, I haven't had the need to utilize the medical services for my pets, so I can't comment on that part. With that being said, vaccine wait time is a breeze once you are in the system, the techs are very nice toward my pets and pretty quick at administering the vaccines. I've been bringing my 19-year-old pup here for the last 6 years, and I honestly can't imagine trusting anyone else. Having a senior dog comes with its fair share of challenges, but every time we walk through those doors, Dr. Oh gives me peace of mind. Somehow I always leave thinking, "Okay...my old man is going to be okay." My pup has struggled with seizures for the last three years, and instead of immediately pushing expensive treatments, Dr. Oh recommended natural supplements that have made a huge difference. We went from about two seizures a week to only every several months! Now that my sweet old guy is dealing with doggy dementia, Dr. Oh has continued to be amazing--recommending affordable supplements, giving practical tips to keep him safe at home, and helping me make the best decisions for his quality of life. One thing I appreciate the most? No nickel-and-diming. I never feel pressured into unnecessary tests or treatments. If something isn't needed, he'll tell you. That kind of honesty is hard to find these days, and it means everything when you're caring for a senior pet. The clinic is always clean, and the staff is kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. They make every visit as stress-free as possible. Located on Sherman Way & Van Nuys Blvd, inside the shopping center with Pablo's, Dunkin', and Otto Sushi, with a large parking lot so finding a space is easy. Thank you, Dr. Oh and the entire Van Nuys Pet Clinic team, for helping my old guy enjoy his golden years. You have cared for him like family, and I'll always be grateful.

I want to start by saying that I am not the type of person who normally leaves negative reviews,…read moreespecially after being a longtime customer, but my experience today was unacceptable. I have been bringing my pets to this doctor for years, and the only reason I stayed this long was because of him. He is excellent with animals, extremely knowledgeable, well educated, and I have always trusted his care and judgment. Unfortunately, the front office staff has consistently been a problem. Over the years, I have had multiple unpleasant experiences with the receptionists, but I continued coming back because I respected and trusted the doctor. Today was the final straw. The receptionist helping me today, ("Lex") , was extremely rude and unprofessional. There was a miscommunication regarding my bill, and instead of handling the situation calmly and respectfully, she became loud in front of other customers. After I spoke directly with the doctor, he waived the fee because it had not been clearly explained to me beforehand. Lex clearly did not like that decision and made her attitude very obvious. Another thing that bothered me was when I asked her to explain the medication instructions to me. Her first response was, "It's on the label," which I found very dismissive. She did eventually explain it to me, but I should not have had to feel like I was bothering someone simply for asking a question about medication for my pet. It is very disappointing that such a great doctor has a front office that repeatedly makes patients feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I overlooked the reception staff for years because I valued the doctor so much, but after today, I will not be returning. The doctor deserves five stars for his knowledge and care, but unfortunately the repeated lack of professionalism from the reception staff has completely ruined my experience with this office.

A huge five-star thank you to Nurse Practitioner Cayla, the lovely ladies at the front desk, Head Receptionist Josie, Jocelyn, and every single staff member at this location. We are so grateful for the excellent care they provided to our sweet and sassy cat, Bella. From the moment PAW Center opened in Sun Valley, I have recommended them to several people, and everyone I have sent their way has also had a great experience. My mom's dog, Shaggy, had previously been taken to several veterinary hospitals without getting clear answers. PAW Center in Sun Valley was the hospital that finally figured out what was going on with her baby. That meant so much to our family. So when our Bella was not doing well, we knew exactly where we wanted to take her. We trusted that this team would do everything possible to help our fur baby -- and they did. From the front desk to the medical team and specialists, the care has been exceptional. Their communication is clear, honest, and transparent, and they truly go above and beyond. Most importantly, you can tell that the entire staff genuinely cares about the animals and the families who love them. Their compassion, patience, professionalism, and wonderful patient care truly stand out. Thank you, PAW Center Veterinary Hospital/Urgent Care, for taking such wonderful care of Bella and for treating our fur babies like family. We sincerely appreciate all that you do!
