I'm giving this place 1 star for several reasons. This was my first time bringing my pet here. Before making the appointment, I called and explained my cat's condition. I was reassured that they see cases like this regularly and that they would be able to help. When we arrived, we waited over 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment time. That alone was frustrating, but what happened next was what truly shocked me. A couple had just made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize their pet. The wife walked out of the room crying while her husband stayed behind to pay. The doctor did not, and I repeat, did not wait until they had left before getting the pet and dropping the deceased pet directly in front of the husband. Thankfully, the wife did not see it, but everyone in the waiting room, including the front desk staff, witnessed what happened and was talking about how upsetting and insensitive it was. I could not believe what I had just seen. My jaw dropped to the floor and I already knew from that moment what this place was all about. When it was finally our turn, the doctor, who I believe is the owner, barely even looked at my cat before saying, "There's nothing we can do for your cat's nose. You'll need to go to an emergency hospital." There was no meaningful examination and no attempt to evaluate my cat before dismissing us. Meanwhile, I watched several other cats being seen and treated without issue. It left me wondering why my cat was not given the same level of care or even a proper assessment. In the end, they wasted our time and offered no help after assuring me over the phone that they could. If you're considering bringing your pet here, I would encourage you to think carefully. Based on my experience, I did not feel that my pet received the care, compassion, or professionalism that every animal deserves. read more

Honestly I didn't feel good trusting this place with my senior cat. I came here for a vomiting issue my cat had and the doctor checked her for about 4 seconds and then gave me a bill of $700 for test and blood work so I just left instead. Now that wasn't really the problem but I didn't enjoy the 5 second checkup. They then say my cat has an ear infection and I told them okay I can pay that so i let them treat her ear. My cat came back bleeding from her foot. They did tell me she was fighting a light and in my head I thought okay she chipped a nail she's just scared. When I came home I checked her foot and the nail was gone and bleeding all night. When I left the vet I made a friend who also had her senior cat. She was the best we made conversation she looked happy. She then comes out the room crying because sadly she put her cat down and obviously that was not the vets fault. Although on another review where they were there as well. They explained how the doctor dropped the deceased cat when the couple hasn't even left yet. And when the couple had barely left not even out the door yet, I hear the receptionist giggle and point at them maybe laughing at the cat being dropped?? Super unprofessional place in my opinion, the doctor was very sweet and his assistants were as well. I have mixed feelings about this place I wanted to have an open mind since this was my first time at a vet in years but I didn't enjoy how they treat the cats which is the biggest concern when bringing your fur baby. read more

He does what is needed and necessary at the time. No upselling here!!!! I was given a sheet with a breakdown of Roscoe's needs with a price for each. It was up to me to say yay or nay. I was looking for a new vet since the one I used to go moved to Valencia. This place was recommend by chat & I was so nervous since my dog is like my child. This place was amazing. I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I have had to deal with from the front desk employees. The front desk employees are always rude for no reason whether you're checking in for your appointed or calling in to set up an appointment. Last week, my dog needed a refill on his two medications so I called to get a refill. As usual, I am met with an abrasive and rude employee with unwarranted anger. She was giving me a hard time stating my dog would need bloodwork done in order to get the refill which was incorrect. My dog had gotten bloodwork done less than a year ago. She became upset when i mentioned this and said I was wrong and she wouldn't be able to until i paid for bloodwork. I asked for her name and to speak to the manager of the clinic in which she stated she wouldn't get the manager or anyone on the phone. She then hung up on and would not provide her name. I called back to speak to someone else to sort this out and my calls were being picked up and hung up on. I couldn't get through as she was making sure to hang up on me. I managed to get Dr. Oh on the phone and he stated reasons why this employe was behaving this way. Apparently, this is the usual behavior of this employe and isn't the first time something like this happens. Cassandra, the clinic manager reached out to me the following day to apologize and told me this behavior is not right and it's happens to multiple clients before me. She stated this would be addressed with the staff. I was refunded the cost of the medication due to this incident. Today, I receive multiple calls from this vet. I picked up after getting home from work and it was the same rude front desk employee calling to ask why the medication was refunded. She was angry and upset and wanted to know why I got a refund. Mind you, I had looked past this first incident and left it at that. I hadn't reach out or anything after speaking to Casandra. She is yelling on the phone arguing with me on wanting to know why i got a refund and if i had the medication still. This employee, who still would not give me her name, had randomly decided to look in my personal file to find this information. I warn everyone on working with this vet clinic. This employee has access to my personal information and nothing is being done. Espi, the lead of the clinic did not make today's situation better. I was met with rude and abrasive demeanor from Espi as well. At first, she did not want to provide her name. I was asking to speak to Casandra or Dr. Oh to which she said they were not available and hung up on me. I am extremely disappointed with my experience and hope that these people are addressed. I will not be taking my pet here anymore as I feel this clinic cannot be trusted with personal information. I should t be reviving unwarranted calls from employees to argue. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. We brought both our cat and dog in for regular checkups and because they were both experiencing itching issues. The veterinarian spent maybe five minutes total examining both animals in the same room. We were quickly told it was fleas, given shots and prescriptions, and that was it. The entire visit felt rushed, impersonal, and like we were just another number on a conveyor belt. The bill came to over $550. Two weeks later, neither pet had improved. When we called back, instead of helping us address the ongoing problems, we were told to go to a different clinic -- which likely means spending another $1,000 and starting treatment all over again. I asked about a well-known flea medication, hoping they could help us continue treatment. The response was simply, "We don't carry it." No alternatives, no prescription, no guidance, and no effort to help us find a solution. We paid hundreds of dollars for what felt like a five-minute visit, received no meaningful follow-up care, and ended up exactly where we started -- except with less money and two pets that still need help. Very disappointing experience. We have lost confidence in this clinic and will be finding a new veterinarian. read more

I had a horrible experience at this clinic. I scheduled a new patient appointment and even arrived a bit early to complete all the necessary paperwork, hoping for a smooth visit. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. After a wait just to get checked in, I was told it would be an additional hour and a half before I could actually be seen. That completely defeats the purpose of scheduling an appointment at a specific time. It felt like the clinic was overbooking and not respectful of clients' time. Because of this experience, I won't be returning. Vet visits are already stressful for my dog, and adding an excessive, unexpected wait only made the situation more difficult. read more

I was referred to this vet clinic in late 2024 by a coworker. I had my poodle/Maltese Roxy for 14 years at the time and I was always scared to take her to the vet since she was older but I knew it was needed. When I took her in February 2025 , I was amazed by the service and was informed about Roxy being in great shape for her age! In Nov 2025 I took her back after she had some serious discharge and unfortunately Roxy was getting weak. The staff and vet here were very respectful and patient for the time I was there. He knew exactly how to treat him, within 5 hours when I returned to pick him up he had improved so much from their care and the right meds. SUPER disappointed in this vet. It's hard to find a good vet these days that's quality, good reviews, and doesn't extort your for every dime. I thought this clinic was the exception but boy was I wrong. This clinic is more affordable, so of course that will mean it's more popular. However, I feel like there were way too many appointments stacked. The waiting room was always full from the moment we arrived to when we left. It almost felt like a drive thru-- the appointment felt a bit rushed. Nonetheless, I thought the vet was kind, they ran the tests, have my doggy medicine for his cough then we were on our way. Overall I was satisfied as long as my dog got better. No fault of the vet, obviously, but my dog's cough returned a few weeks later. No problem, he probably just needs another round of antibiotics. Here's where things took a turn which is prompting me to write this review. I sent them an email the other day asking if I could get my dog on another round or what the vet may recommend, like another appointment if needed. Never heard back, ok, they might be busy. I then spend an entire day calling them. I kid you not, from about 10am until 4pm I called about 10 times at different times. Every time the call couldn't be completed. Busy line? Reception putting the phone on DND all day? Who knows. My recommendation for this vet: don't over book, overhaul your communication systems (phone, email, text), and refresh or re staff your reception staff. There are a lot of cracks here that is costing you business that if I were the business owner, I'd be floored. read more

We brought our dog Ike here. Ike was old and sick. We had been to 2 other vets who took hundreds of dollars and then said they couldn't help us. Van Nuys Veterinary Clinic was different. Very reasonable prices and the staff are all respectful and kind. It was so hard to make the decision to let Ike go. Dr. Oh explained the process and helped make Ike comfortable. All of us were welcomed in the room including Ike's canine buddy, Blue. It was really a beautiful ceremony like farewell. Dr Ohs's bow touched me deeply. Dr. Oh definitely saved our cat Wille's life! Wille used to gnaw on and eat things that weren't food, and, eventually, that caused a blockage. Dr. Oh did what had to be done, and now Wille is a healthy, happy, really big eight year old. We bring Wille and our other three cats for dental cleanings/checkups every year, and Dr. Oh has kept them all in excellent health. He and his staff genuinely care about you and your fur baby/babies. If you're searching for quality care for your pet, you're in the wrong place. I'm actually really surprised at how many good reviews there are here. Look, totally understand if you need care for your pet and are on a budget, but trust me...Dr. Oh is anything BUT knowledgeable. I went to him initially to understand why my dog was having random bruising on her body, he then proceeded to GOOGLE it in front of me (so now I'm paying for something I could have done at home?) and then prescribed some medication that supposedly was going to quickly fix/help my dog. Long story short, it didn't. It actually made her condition worse. He failed to mention to me how severe her case actually was and that it was an autoimmune disease (he probably didn't know that, it might've been further down the Google search page). The only way I found out how complicated this disease was, was by going to a different vet and grabbing a second opinion. If I had stayed with Dr. Oh, my dog would NOT be here today. My current vet was so surprised at how Dr. Oh handled my dog's health situation - she was appalled and disturbed. So I advise you to search elsewhere if quality care for your pet is important to you. 2 stars for effort...but honestly could have just saved my money and googled it at home. Never went back again. And my dog is MUCH healthier today. read more

Dr. Oh cares about animals! He is kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. However, the front desk experience with Epsy (or Epty) is the complete opposite. She has the heart of a cold stone, showing no empathy or basic warmth toward grieving pet owners. When people are already hurting and vulnerable, the last thing they need is an attitude that feels cold, dismissive, and uncaring. Please, if you're working in a place where people are saying goodbye to their beloved pets or dealing with emotional situations, empathy should be the bare minimum. Dr. Oh deserves a front desk team that reflects the same level of compassion and care that he provides. Until that changes, it's hard to have a truly positive experience here. read more
