Writing this review PARTICULARLY for the receptionist who had an attitude today. I arrived with two very young kittens for what should have been a simple deworming appointment. I'm not sure what was going on with the receptionist at the front desk with the long, messy hair, but her attitude from the moment I asked for clarification about the estimate and treatment plan was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Apparently, asking reasonable questions as a first-time customer was enough to send her into a frenzy. If someone asking for clarification about what they are being charged for and what is being done to their animals is that upsetting to you, perhaps working in customer service isn't the right job. After repeatedly dismissing me with, "You can just talk to the doctor," I sat down to wait. This same receptionist then looked directly at me and LOUDLY said, "Well, that's the fastest way to become an F." Naturally, I asked what "F" meant. At that point, there were THREE receptionists sitting at the front desk, and every single one of them conveniently decided to ignore me. Little did she know, I used to be a veterinary technician myself. I know exactly what an "F" on a chart means. It's a notation to alert the front and back staff that a client may be difficult to work with. So, I'll gladly be your F. If asking questions, expecting basic respect, and advocating for the animals in my care makes me "difficult," then by all means, mark the chart. Ironically, this "F" ended up receiving a significant discount on the visit, so I guess being difficult worked out pretty well for me. I do want to acknowledge that the doctor did give me half off my visit today, and I appreciate that. However, I was disappointed by how dismissive the doctor was regarding the receptionist's behavior. I was repeatedly told that "everyone could work on their communication skills." Respectfully, no. There is a difference between a communication issue and a staff member openly catching an attitude with a customer, publicly making comments about their chart, and then refusing to answer a direct question. Sir, we are paying you to provide medical care to our sick pets. If your staff chooses to give customers attitude, they should not be surprised when that attitude is returned. I came in concerned about two extremely young kittens and expected professional, compassionate treatment. Instead, I left feeling like I was being treated as an inconvenience simply for asking questions. The medical care may have been fine, but the front-desk experience was completely unacceptable. Sincerely, "F"

Large Bladder Stone removed from my 11 lbs Ragdoll Mix

Dr. Oh has been seeing my service dog for the past 3 years. He is great with his medication management after two back to back upper respiratory problems (we took him to an ER and the med combo was not ideal for his breed and did not help solve his issue but Dr. Oh did amazing with the medicine combo) Recently we introduced our 4 cats to their team and they were very welcoming and attentive as 2 of my cats are not well socialized (one feral born and the other is a nursery baby I raised) On Wednesday we made an appointment because our youngest cat urinated some blood and Dr Oh and the team LITERALLY save his life and performed an emergency surgery. I was working and sent my not extremely animal savvy boyfriend and Dr OH and the vet shadowing him were real nice, helpful and answered all my boyfriend question so he could be at ease while the procedure was done. The RVT/Nurse assistant that was delivering the estimate was quite rude and rushed my boyfriend while he was making decisions and phone calls to confirm the time off work, check with me about my opinion on the procedure and letting his family know. He really needs a talk about being more kind and patient while a 3000 dollar decision and a life or dead decision is being made, like I said Dr oh and the vet shadowing him AMAZING professionally, this nurse/Rvt/assistent was awful, rush and unkind. I will not reduce my 5 star review of the clinic for an unprofessional rvt when the head of clinic, the reception and most of the team is amazing but I wanted to voice my opinion so he gets the training he needs to work in an industry so delicate as animal well fare. And this coming from a former shelter worker and a boarding/daycare facility manager My cat Toto is recovering awesome at home and I attached a picture of the massive bladder stone they removed from him. THANK YOU DR OH and most of your incredible team.

Dr.Oh and his staff are awesome. I've been taking my fur babies here for years for their (affordable) shots. After having surgery for a hernia repair and baby tooth extraction, my little girl is doing so well. The pricing was surprisingly affordable and included medications. They maintain a clean environment. I recommend this place to anyone seeking affordable, quality care for their babies. Thank you Dr.Oh & team!

Dr. Oh has been our trusted doctor for over 7 years, providing exceptional care for Marley and always putting us at ease. Dr. Oh's team is thorough, gentle, and patiently answers all our questions. His office staff including the front desk is incredibly helpful and kind, creating a truly welcoming and supportive atmosphere. We highly recommend Dr. Oh for the outstanding care Marley receives every visit. We couldn't thank Dr. Oh enough for his love and care for my baby boy!

My dog had a really bad ear infection and a hot spot, and Dr. Oh was amazing. He took her in right away, gave her steroid injections, shaved the area, and had us out the door in about 20 minutes. Super efficient and gentle with my pup the whole time. I had called around to check prices before coming here, and his rates were very fair compared to other vets. You can tell he really knows what he's doing and doesn't waste time upselling unnecessary treatments. Fast, knowledgeable, and caring service so glad we found this place! She healed with 1 week & a half

    Waiting for the Dr

I honestly don't know where to begin. Dr. Oh is by far the best veterinarian I've ever worked with, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dog. I've been bringing my German Shepherd, Macy, here for the past 7 years. Thankfully, she's a very healthy dog and doesn't need frequent vet visits, but whenever anything comes up, Dr. Oh and his team are the first people I turn to. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism they provide is truly exceptional. They always take the time to answer questions, explain everything thoroughly, and make sure Macy receives the best possible care. Knowing that she's in such good hands gives me tremendous peace of mind. I'm incredibly grateful for Dr. Oh and his amazing team, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinarian they can trust.

Me: Hey Roscoe, how did you like Dr. Oh? Roscoe: Woof, woof, woof, woof, woof...that's 5 stars in shih tzu language:) After 12 years of taking my baby to an overpriced veterinarian in North Hollywood, I finally made the decision to find a new one. My friend had mentioned this clinic so I read the reviews and made an appointment. The entire front staff: Lily, Ashley & Espy, will check you in when you arrive & out when you leave. Danny the vet technician, is there to assist Dr Oh with tests, shots and meds. And now for Dr. Oh...doggie drum roll please...he is very friendly, on point about your pet and doesn't waste your time. He does what is needed and necessary at the time. No upselling here!!!! I was given a sheet with a breakdown of Roscoe's needs with a price for each. It was up to me to say yay or nay. Once I agreed upon the services, Danny took Roscoe for his blood panel and allergy shot. While we waited for Roscoe (which wasn't long), Lily helped me with my bill and the meds were all ready to go. No wait time like our previous vet. *Located on the North West corner of Van Nuys Blvd & Sherman Way in pod mall with Dunkin Donuts and Jersey Mikes. *It's very clean & smells pleasant inside. There are a few benches to sit on while you wait for your pet to be called in. *Plenty of parking in the lot

How much would consultation fee be with appointment?

They dont do walk ins not even for vaccinations!

Did they change their phone number? I've been trying to call for the past two days but the line sounds dead. Doesn't even ring. (8*8)4*3-8*89 isn't working

Not sure - I usually just walk in !

I’m very happy with Dr. Oh. Does anyone know where he went to vet school? I’m just curious.

Does anyone know how much physical exams are and if they take walk ins? Thanks.

I paid $35 for the office visit which was the exam + the other things needed

How much is the office visit?

I believe $135 but pay more go somewhere else .. after many years of abusive treatment I am I longer going to him for my dog

How much do they charge for cat dental cleaning here?

Not sure if it's exactly the same but I had my dogs teeth deep cleaned here a few months back for $800 ish. Removed plaque and all

Do they do walk-ins or only appointments?

    They are appointment only!

Does your phone number not have a voicemail set up? It kept ringing for a long time

    Nope.

    Do you do xRays?

    Yes they do

Does anyone know how much an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy for a dog?

How much do dental cleanings start at?

My dog is a 5 year old mix and I paid for the dental cleaning including the sedation and after treatment medication for about a bit more than $500. Hope this helps!

Do you do ultrasounds on pregnant dogs?

Not sure but they did a free ultrasound for my cat after she had an x-ray on her stomach area (uterus was the focus).

Do you offer microchipping? If so, how much?

    $60

    How much for micro chipping?

Do you guys do spay and neuter? If so how much?

VNNC just gave me a $310 quote to have my 7 month old, 10 lb female Rat Terrier spayed. No exam or blood work necessary since she's in excellent health. I got an appointment for 9 days from now. I called four different vets and VNNC offers the best…

    Do you also check bunnies?

    No, only dogs and cats.

How much is the office visit after free first visit?

They told me 35 dollars as of today.

The prices were always fair-- almost cheap, honestly. Everyone we ever dealt with has been wonderful. They've tried to always accommodate my dog when we needed an unexpected last-minute appointment-- which was kind of a lot because she had a few health issues over the years. They were always so nice and loved on her even though she was a bit of a bad girl. When we had to put my dog down very unexpectedly, they tried very hard to save her. But also, they were honest about no heroics. I mean, they really could've gotten a lot of money out of me to save her, but Dr Moon was honest that it was time to let her go. Over the last nine years, they were all just so good and sweet to her. To be honest, even driving by there, I kind of want to cry even though it's been a few months. It somewhat awkward since there isn't really anywhere to sit & wait in the front lobby. Granted, I now see that I could have stepped back outside & waited on the bench in their really nice courtyard until a receptionist was available. I found there was an outdoor area & a lounge in the back which I could've utilized while waiting for my dogs to be ready to go home. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. I will definitely allot for more time to park at our next visit. All the vet staff seemed very knowledgeable & treated myself & my dogs great. I was given clear information & even checked in with today to see how my girls are doing. I felt very comfortable conversing with both of the vets (one dog was a non-anesthetic cleaning with Dr. Celestine Hoh & the other had an advanced dental procedure with Dr. Candice Habawel), as well as the technicians. My girls were both taken very good care of & are doing really well today. I've been an RVT for over 20 years & loved how organized & compassionate the care we received was, as well as how my dogs seemed & their teeth looked when I took them home. Sidenote, I realized that Dr. Candice Habawel was the first vet I met at your Venice location when Pickles had needed emergency ADP & that location fit me in the NEXT day! I was so impressed with everything there & decided to stay with Green Dog because of Dr. Habawel & our experience that day. Sadly getting to Venice is not something I can do easily so I continued my care at the Sherman Oaks location, which overall has always been a good experience. But to find that Dr. Habawel was now at the Van Nuys location makes me very happy. I thought she seemed familiar but didn't put 2 & 2 together until I got home. I wanted to help her and do what was right, but this place completely shattered my trust. From the moment we arrived, she was weak and moving slowly. Instead of being honest and telling us that the kindest, most humane option would be to let her go peacefully, they insisted on doing a long list of tests -- over $700 worth -- knowing full well she was on her last breath. The next day, the doctor called with the results and said she was very sick and recovery chances were extremely slim. Then came the question: Did I want them to put her to sleep? I told them I wanted to be there with her, and I also made it clear that I was very unhappy with how the situation had been handled. The receptionist quoted me $300 for euthanasia, and I reluctantly agreed, even though I already felt taken advantage of. When I arrived, I expressed again how wrong this felt -- that they had used our love and emotions to squeeze out every dollar they could before admitting the truth. They guided me to a small room and told me to wait so I could be there with her. After several minutes, the doctor came in with a sad look and told me... she had already died. No one called. No one checked in sooner. No one seemed to care. Yes, they refunded the euthanasia fee -- but that doesn't undo what they did. My wife and I left heartbroken -- not just from losing a sweet soul who trusted us, but from realizing how cold and unethical this place truly is. They took advantage of compassion, made money off a dying animal, and then delivered the news like it was nothing. I will never take another animal here. I told them I was only about 15 minutes away and was coming straight in. I arrived exactly when I said I would, and the price had suddenly changed. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch. If your pricing changes at a certain time, tell the customer when they're on the phone and saying they are on the way, not after they've already arrived. When I questioned it, the manager was unprofessional and unwilling to honor the price their own staff had quoted me just minutes earlier over the phone. There was no accountability and no attempt to make the situation right. I can easily afford the difference, but that's not the point. I don't appreciate being misled. I told them I was deeply disappointed with how they handled the situation and that I would be leaving an honest review. They didn't seem to care at all. I genuinely feel bad for the owner if this is the level of customer service being provided. The worst part was that my dog was sitting there in pain while we argued over something that should have been simple.I left and went to another veterinary clinic down the street, where my dog was seen within minutes and received excellent care. If a business won't stand behind the price they quote over the phone, it's hard to trust them with anything more important. I imagine their final bill would have been ridiculous. Thankfully, I didn't stay long enough to find out. I won't be returning, and I hope this review saves someone else from wasting their time.
