My wife and I brought our new cat here just to be checked out. We had adopted the cat from Carson animal shelter. The cat's eyes had some drainage issues. The doctor there is very knowledgeable and friendly and nice to the animals and people. This place is just South of Glenoaks Blvd.

I just want to start off by thanking the wonderful staff at Shadow hills and Dr.Mohan. I was going crazy looking for a good place to Neuter my 6 year old Frenchie. Of course, I should have done it sooner but just knowing my baby has to go under anesthesia is scary and more being a French bulldog. Dr. Mohan explain everything to me in detail about the surgery and the trouble's a frenchie can have during surgery but he is very knowledgeable and I thank him for the wonderful job he did! My baby is 4 days out from surgery and doing great. The staff at the front desk also answer all my question and were very friendly. Thank you very much Shadow Hill Pet clinic. I 1000 percent recommend this clinic for all your pet needs! And the prices are very reasonable!

    Phinny awaiting his check up.

We love Shadow Hills Pet Clinic. We've brought all of our family pets here for years. We appreciate how attentive and caring they are. We absolutely trust them with our beloved pets which is why we make the the drive there.

I've been with Shadow Hill Pet Clinic before it was sold to a group and it was just Dr Mohan. Mohan has always been nice and a fine vet. Dr. Prabhakar (Dr V) just performed surgery on my baby and did a wonderful job and was very nice. Then I saw Dr. Lauber recently in an non surgery emergency where my dog had chewed the base of her tail to bleeding. Of course I asked if it was the anal glands even though it was much higher than where anal glands are located. I was asked if she had flees and I said no, she's white and you can see them immediately. So I was offered a list of things with prices to do. 3 month flee pill, clean the area, antibiotics, an anal glad expression and a couple other things. The doc didn't tell me anything was really necessary. I assuming it must have been a bug bite that made her chew the base of her tail, chose not to do anal expression but the obvious cleaning area, antibiotics and 3 month flee pill. Then a very nice, 30 year vet tech named Jessica came out and asked me, 'are you sure you don't want the anal gland epression?' I said no they were just expressed a few days ago and nothing came out. Jessica said 'but they're full'. I said really? Not believing her. Well then can I watch you do it? I wanted to make sure she wasn't just trying to get more money out of me. Jessica said 'Sure'. And I couldn't believe how much she expressed from my tiny dog. I asked her how she knew and the vet didn't. Jessica said she had been a vet tech for 30 years, experience. Jessica then stepped into the back hallway and showed the cloth with the expressed matter to someone and said very politely, 'see' as she held up the cloth. It felt like a superior. Then Jessica showed me what to look for and offered the next time I come in to show me how to do the anal expression from the inside, I'm a groomer and know the external expression method. Now Jessica doesn't work there anymore . I hope she wasn't fired for being so knowledgeable and helpful. Hopefully she left of her own will, but I have my doubts.

Updating my review once again and continuing to leave 5 stars. Dr. V is seriously one of the most compassionate vets I've ever encountered. I've been coming here since pre COVID times and honestly it's only gotten better throughout the years. Staff continues to be kind and caring. I appreciate all they do for my pets and their prices are definitely fair compared to other locations I've been to. I've see reviews regarding how this clinic only cares about $ but that's most definitely not what I have experienced. Thank you Shadow Hills Pet Clinic for all that you do, we appreciate you so much!

We recently took our fur baby to this clinic. We were pleasantly surprised with how friendly and professional everyone was. Our dog actually enjoyed his visit, and we will definitely be bringing him back again.

Dr Varun was great! We had to get a lump removed from my dogs tail that turned out to be cancer, I'm so glad we caught it and the whole process was pretty painless. He was happy with how the surgery went and my pup's stitches healed well! Thank you!

Resting after surgery, thank you Dr Mohan

Ask the Community - Shadow Hills Pet Clinic

Is this place still open I have been calling trying to schedule an apt with no luck?

I'm wondering the same thing. My dog has a procedure scheduled for tomorrow and I can't reach them to ask if we need to reschedule.

Does anyone know if this place is still operating? No one has been answering their calls, I even left a voice message.

I was informed that someone in this clinic was possibly with COVID-19 They will be closed for a week

How are they with spaying small dogs? Any complaints or compliments?

    No complaints

Any one know how much they charged for teeth cleaning on a Chihuahua?

I had my Maltese get her teeth cleaned, she's 6 lbs and it was in the $200 range. It might get pricier the larger the dog but since yours is a chihuahua it might be around what I paid :)

During the visit, she was examined and I was told she was healthy and doing well. The clinic prescribed her Credelio for fleas in addition to her vaccines. The wait time was about 1-2 hours, which I understood. She was seen at approximately 12:36 PM, received her shots and the prescribed medication, and we went home. I monitored her closely at home. She seemed fine, but at around 3:40 PM, she suddenly passed away. I called the office around 4:00 PM to report what happened. I was placed on hold and disconnected, so I called again and explained the situation. I was told the doctor would call me back after hours, but I have not received any call yet. My dog was perfectly fine before this visit(here is a picture of her in the car going to the vet) I lost my best friend on January 28, 2026, at 3:40 PM, and I am devastated. I trusted this clinic with her care, and I am heartbroken and confused about how something like this could happen so suddenly. Update: I want to clarify what happened after I contacted the clinic. I was told that the doctor would call me back. At around 4:20 PM, I received a call, but it was not the doctor--it was a receptionist. She told me the doctor would call me later, but he never did. When I later spoke with the doctor, he seemed irritated and dismissive. I felt that my concerns about the medication, including Credelio, were not taken seriously. Instead of discussing the possibility of an adverse reaction or explaining what could have happened, my questions were brushed off. As a pet owner who just lost their dog suddenly, I expected empathy, transparency, and a willingness to address my concerns. Instead, I felt unheard and dismissed during one of the most painful moments of my life.

She was very understanding and she was able to answer every single question I had since this was my first time bringing my pet to urgent care. She was absolutely wonderful and it has amazing customer service. Thank you Esmeralda for your hard work and attentiveness. Vet. Giles, was absolutely amazing. Thank you Dr. Giles for your hard work, patience, and kindness. Jose definitely made my dog feel comfortable not only did he make my dog feel comfortable, but he also made me feel reassured with all the information he was passing along to me and answering every single question I had. He was very patient. Very communicative, helpful kind and overall wonderful. Jose knows how to lighten up the mood with his jokes. He's very kindhearted and outstanding. Again, Esmeralda, Vet Giles, and Jose have outstanding customer service skills, very attentive, kind, and helpful. Cons: as I was filling out paperwork at the front office I noticed that the lady in the middle, her name is Melissa, she's a taller Caucasian lady wearing a bun last night... I felt like she was a bit rude because she snickered while I was asking Esmeralda questions about the paper that I was filling out because I wasn't sure about a certain things or I didn't understand a certain things and I thought that was not OK for Melissa to snicker at one of the questions I asked. It was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable, but I forced myself to stay there because I was worried about my dog. Overall, everyone was wonderful, including the lady that was sitting on the right of Melissa, which is the far end did not get her name, but she waved goodbye to me which felt more welcoming rather than hearing Melissa Snickers. Overall, Esmeralda, Jose and Vet Giles were outstanding; they are the star of the show.

This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. They have strong…read moreratings, a busy office, and clearly a large clientele, but after less than two years there, I became deeply dissatisfied with the pricing structure and the way concerns about costs were handled. The customer service was polite but basic. My biggest issue was how quickly appointments seemed to turn into extensive and extremely expensive treatment plans. It often felt like the moment you mentioned even a minor concern, you were presented with a long list of recommended labs, X-rays, and additional testing. I understand diagnostics are important, but the costs frequently felt excessive and overwhelming. One situation especially changed my view of the clinic. After already paying for an initial exam and testing, I was told a follow-up visit for the same condition would cost nearly as much as a brand-new office visit. When I questioned the pricing and suggested starting with lab work first before jumping into more testing, I was treated as if I were being difficult simply for asking reasonable questions and trying to be financially responsible. What frustrated me even more was later learning that some bloodwork could have been sent to an outside lab for nearly half the price, but that option was not presented upfront. Clients deserve transparency and choices, especially during costly veterinary care. The most upsetting part was being told I could no longer return to the clinic while my pet was still in the middle of treatment because management considered me "too disgruntled" over the fees. I found that extremely unprofessional. Questioning pricing should not automatically make a client a problem. Thankfully, I eventually found another veterinary clinic that was a much better fit for me and my pet calm, clean, transparent, and very thorough. They spent time explaining everything clearly without making me feel pressured or financially cornered. I'm not writing this to damage anyone's business. Media City Veterinary Medical Center obviously has many loyal customers. But clients also have a right to speak honestly about their experiences, and mine left me disappointed.
