I made a call and got them scheduled fairly quickly and the receptionist seemed helpful. I was informed to still arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork (& having completed forms online prior to the visit). Upon visiting, the staff took about 10 minutes to check us in even though already was waited on and when we told them we had an appointment, we were told to sit. They seemed friendly enough to people they knew and didn't acknowledge a large dog pee stain near the entrance that got admitted quick but not tended to. It was about 15 minutes past our appointment time when I mentioned what the receptionist stated to me and if we were okay with paperwork, to be blankly stared at and said "you already did it". Thanking the person for confirming new information to me, we were eventually placed in an exam room. We overheard someone at front desk said they "needed a smoke" and due to it being Cali, thats all good for them but lead to some uncertainty of what smoke they meant but hopefully its ethically okay with the animals are being treated in the back. I had one of my cats records sent but the other one paperwork had not come in yet for the appointment. The vet seemed uncomfortable and unable to offer advice for my girl cat and some ideas for my boy cat. Its interesting how much they invoice each item (manually checking my cat for vitals) and charging for a wellness visit but not wanting to proceed further to an anal gland expression due to "it being another 50 dollars" without taking a look from the outside? I appreciate the transparency in the prices and it was like a menu of medical decisions with not much context to why these options are being given to us. She was able to agree to renew some of our existing prescriptions for them (food and medicine) but its a 3 month supply & through Chewy. The vet also said something a bit racist in asking "why my cat is sitting in rice" - my cats are medium to long haired and use cassava and/clay litter and when telling her, she seemed doubtful still then passive statements about them having fleas although they have had no history and do not look to be having that issue. Long story short: I am giving 3 stars for the ease of scheduling, parking, & getting their vaccinations done but will keep looking for another place. Unfortunately, some locals here say cat care is not the best out here in the valley so I may need to commute further to find a vet and their office that's compatible for us.

I had my little Chihuahua, Luca. Within the 12 year span, I started my own family and we continued bringing our pets to BFAH for their annual visits and for all treatments. They have always been welcoming and friendly. They are great with handling all pets. Everyone that visits BFAH, always walks in and out with a smile. Our pets have always been under Dr. Erica Heim's care. She is a wonderful Veterinarian who has helped us through preventative care and through tragedy as well. We trust her judgement as she has been with us through the thick and thin. All of her associates have always been so kind and caring and have been there as long as I remember which shows us that there are plenty of wonderful and genuine souls working there. We like the fact that they are honest and will always review all treatments with you. They are truly angels. We love Best Friends Animal Hospital and our pets will continue to be their patients for years to come.

Kinder 4 Care saved my dog Benjamin's life, and I'll always be grateful I took him there…read more Before coming here, I went to another emergency vet (Access in Woodland Hills) that took X-rays but completely failed to identify the actual issue. Meanwhile, they were charging me an unbelievable amount without even having a real plan or moving toward surgery. I left feeling stressed, confused, and terrified for my dog. The moment I arrived at Kinder 4 Care the next morning, they took X-rays and confidently knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done. Benjamin had swallowed a foreign object, and within about an hour of arriving, he was already in surgery. Their team acted quickly, knowledgeably, and decisively, which is exactly what you want in an emergency situation. The surgery to remove the foreign object was around $3,700 with the x-rays, which from my understanding is actually on the lower end for an emergency surgery like this. They kept Benjamin for two nights afterward, and every time I checked in, they were responsive and reassured me that he was doing great. I've seen reviews saying they can come across as rude, but honestly, when your dog's life is on the line, none of that matters. I wasn't there looking for luxury customer service -- I needed experienced professionals who knew exactly what to do and could save my dog. And that's exactly what they did. Benjamin is alive because of them. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and confident in a high-stress emergency, and I'm beyond thankful for the care they gave him.

I had found a little kitten in a grassy area near the 101 freeway about five months prior and brought her home to be part of my cat family. When it eventually came time for her to be fixed, I wanted to find her the best option I could, and this business had the best reviews out of all the places I considered. My local vet wanted over $700 for the surgery, and Family Veterinary offered the procedure at a fraction of the price. When I took her in, I had a bunch of questions, and the vet personally answered all of them. I asked if they removed just the ovaries or the uterus, and he told me they removed both. This is the best option because cancers can develop in later life if the uterus isn't removed. I also asked if the anesthesia was general or local, and he told me they did both. I picked my kitten up a few hours later, and brought her home. They told me to keep her in an e-collar for a few weeks, but I took it off a bit early, since she wasn't picking at her stitches. She healed completely within a couple of weeks, and now, I can't even find where the incision was! The whole process was very professional, and I feel was likely better than what I would've have gotten if I'd paid my vet the $700+ fee to do it. Highly recommended!

Making an appointment was super easy online. And with the $50 voucher, the cost was only $145 for my little dog... amazing! I recommend you get there EARLY if you're going for a spay/neuter clinic day. They say no later than 7:30 AM but I was there at around 6:45 and they were already checking people in... so go early. You pay in cash. They can also do microchips at the same time as the surgery. This was so easy compared to other places that offer similar services. And Dr. Shukman was kind and compassionate while doing the Lords work for sure.
