This restaurant is in one of the hotels right next to our lodge inside Waterton Park. It's elegant and upscale. Small dining room with about a dozen tables for 2-4 people. Nice simple decor with light colored furniture, large black and white landscape photos adorn one of the walls. Service is good and attentive. Food is amazing. Only complaint is it is rather pricy but worth the splurge. We had salad, salmon, garlic shrimps, sautéed green beans, and tiramisu. It's our best meal so far in our 2 week trip on the road.

Some places in the area are pricey and devoid of food that merits the cost. This place has good tasty food and solid service. We were fortunate to see two bucks grazing just outside our window when we ate. This is a small place so reservations are probably recommended.

It was a really good find. They had space for us luckily because we didn't have reservations and the place on a Friday night was packed. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Our waterglasses were full and our server was great at asking what we needed. We each chose a pasta. Me the seafood linguini and my hubby the spaghetti. We decided on the arrichini to split. Everthing was amazing. Arrichini perfectly cooked the truffle added to the dish. My linguini was delicous and the seafood was not overcooked which I often have issues with. But the big surprise was my husband's spaghetti. I normally would not order such a meaty dish but I tried his sauce and it was amazing. The only thing was that because it is hooked onto a hotel it was totally lacking atmosphere. And If I am paying close to 30 bucks for pasta, maybe it would be nice to eat it in a more pleasant dining area. All in and all we would go again. And next time I am ordering the spaghetti.

Spending some time in Montana this time of year, I honestly wasn't expecting to find arugula this fresh and perfect. It was crisp, peppery, and tasted like it had just been picked. That alone impressed me. The elk tartare was easily my favorite dish of the night. It was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and a great Montana twist on something you would expect to find at a high end restaurant in New York. I would come back for that dish alone. The steak was cooked perfectly, flavorful and juicy, with herb butter, asparagus, and roasted tomatoes. The pasta was rich, creamy, and covered with freshly grated cheese, but still balanced and not overly heavy. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and clearly prepared with a lot of attention to detail. Coming from New York, where we are spoiled with great Italian restaurants, I can say Abruzzo Kitchen is one of the best Italian meals I've had outside of New York. Great ingredients, creative dishes, generous portions, and a kitchen that clearly cares about what it puts on the plate. If you are in Montana and appreciate really good Italian food, put Abruzzo Kitchen on your list. I'll absolutely be back.

Food took a bit to come out, but was warned ahead of time. Waiter claim everything is made from scratch definitely taste like it. A little price-y but within normal range of good quality Italian place. 3.5/5 - Caesar Salad - Standard caesar salad, tasted fresh with some fresh slices of cheese on top. Wish there was more crutons maybe to add better crunch. Nothing to complain about, but nothing special to stand out. 4.5/5 - Carbonara Pizza - Perfectly cooked, with a raw egg on top. Creamy, crunchy, and very savory from the carbonara. Exactly as it states bacon is nice and crispy, with the cream finish to cut any greasiness from it. One of the better pizzas I have. Waiter also claim its their favorite and I can see why. 3/5 - Fennel Sausage Pizza - The extra cheese adds a great creaminess to the sauce. On top of it the sausage and bell pepper makes a great topping as it tasted fresh. Only complaint the bottom was very burnt. Usually I accept a certain level of burnt crust from this type of pizza, but all i tasted was burnt dough. Ruin more than half the pizza. 3.8/5 - Wild Boar Ragu - The noodles used tasted very fresh and homemade. Velvet-y and slides off the tongue and grabs all the sauce easily. The price was way higher than the rest, but flavor was more flat than expected. Very little game flavor from the wild boar which is a huge plus. For the price there are better flavors on the menu. 3.5/5 - Classic Bolognese - Despite the same plus from the pasta noodles, the sauce was another letdown. Very watery for a bolognese. Usually its thick meat sauce where the pasta can pick up the sauce with ease. However this one was very watery jsut slides off the pasta made it hard to eat it all without a spoon or something under neath to catch the sauce. Flavor was okay tasted meaty tomato sauce. The fresh, light grated cheese to put on top of the pizza was surprisingly the stand out. No more dried parmesan for me in the future. Packed every night, so make sure to make reservation if possible.

After a full day exploring, we returned to our hotel late in the afternoon absolutely exhausted and hungry. After a quick rest and cleaning up, we decided to head out for dinner without making a reservation ahead of time. We checked reviews and decided to give Mambo Mountain Italian a try -- and we are so glad we did! It was a very busy evening, but they were able to accommodate us on the deck after about a 30-minute wait. It was absolutely worth the wait. The atmosphere on the deck was lovely, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. They began our meal with fresh, warm garlic bread that was complimentary -- and it was delicious! My husband ordered the Bolognese, and he said it was the best Bolognese he has ever had, which is saying a lot because it's one of his favorite dishes. I had a creamy pasta with chicken and artichoke hearts, and it was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous, too. The dessert selection looked fantastic and was definitely tempting, but we were simply too full to indulge! After such a long day, this turned out to be exactly the kind of dinner we needed -- delicious food, wonderful service, generous portions, and a great atmosphere. Mambo Mountain Italian was one of the highlights of our time in Whitefish. Without a doubt, the best Italian food we had in the area. We would definitely return!

Our family of three adults and a toddler came for Mothers Day dinner…read more We ordered three pasta dishes, a side of broccolini, tiramisu, and lemon marscapone cake. The broccoli was just a tad underdone to our liking but we were in euphoria over our pastas. My tiramisu was good, overly sweet and would have loved more of that bitter coffee flavor. The lemon cake was so good my son stole it from my mother in law. Our server was David. He was on fire, running in this tiny space to us and all of his other tables, making drinks, taking orders, etc. Chef PorkChop was AMAZING. The amount of communication, leadership, and attitude that man has is astounding. If our family finds any time out of our busy schedules, we will absolutely be back.

Service was exceptional. Between two choices, the waitress suggested the Gnocchi Rose, and it came out bubbling. It was delicious, and did not disappoint. I almost forgot to mention that they serve warm bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was to die for. The place is really cute on the inside and perfect for a date. I had come from hiking, and it was empty with no apparent dress code. I also had a tiramisu which was a bit small but still delicious. The prices aren't terrible and the food is incredible. I would come back here, and the owner is Italian which I guessed by the quality of the food.

Tried the Penne alla Vodka with chicken, Pollo Marsala and Carbonara…read more The Penne alla Vodka had a tomato cream sauce. Sauce was slightly spicy which went well with the sweet and touch of sour flavor from the cream and the tomato. The penne pasta was cooked al dente. The chicken coast extra $3; good but there's some tough spots. Dish was yummy. The Pollo Marsala came with 2 pieces of tender chicken fillets and linguine pasta; both bathed with yummy wine sauce and topped with cremini mishrooms. Sauce was sweet with a hint of the mushroom flavor. Also yummy dish. The Carbonara looked like it had bacon instead of the traditional pancetta. The sauce was creamy but could use a little salt. Had a taste of butter. I like this one the least. They give complimentary Italian bread, butter and olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Bread was soft; didn't taste sweet compared to other Italian bread I've had. Didn't wait long for the food. Prices were reasonable especially for the size and yumminess of the entrees. The staff were nice and patient as we took a few minutes to look at the menu. The dining room was comfortable and bright.
