I went here with my brother the pizza is absolutely amazing, the staff is absolutely fantastic, and the ambience is great. To me restaurant is clean and they have air conditioning. I also tried the soup of the day which was absolutely amazing. Home made and fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a light crust that's homemade go here. It's outstanding.

The pizza special. We will have to come back another time to try the pasta.

I'm from Vancouver and it's my first time to Fernie. I'm staying at the ski resort and really enjoying the dining options in the town, just 10 minutes away. The house made pasta on the menu caught my eye but we were enticed to try the pizza special of the day (chicken, bacon, banana peppers, mozzarella, and mushrooms, with a honey drizzle). We combined that with a really delicious salad with beets, goat cheese, apples and candied walnuts. We also started with the soup of the day which came with bread. The pizza crust was thin and crispy with a little bit of chewiness in the thicker parts. The salad was a good sized portion. We split everything between two people and we were unable to finish the last two slices of pizza because we were full. It made a nice pre-ski breakfast the next day. Impressive food scene in Fernie, a town with a resident population of about 6,000 but with numbers swelling in winter and summer with visitors.

    Delicious salad!

Excellent service and very good homemade, fresh tasting food. Their daily soup is awesome. Lovely ambiance

    Moroccan lamb- incredible!

I am astonished that the loaf only has 3 and a half stars. In my books, they are 5 stars. Last night I had the Moroccan lamb- it was straight up phenomenal. I've never said that about any single dish in my life but that lamb deserves the highest rating possible. It was incredibly tender and just peeled right off the bone and was bursting with flavour. It was on garlic whipped potatoes with an eggplant sort of stir fry (I don't remember the proper name..capacoda?) but it had so much flavour as well. Each bite made me "omg..mmm.. this is so good". My family got two different types of pizza and theirs were both amazing as well. It was clean, socially distanced, and our waiter was great! I've been to the loaf many times before and have always had a good meal but this time was exceptional. Well done!

We are beyond impressed with The Loaf. We snagged the only open table at 8 pm on a Saturday and were promptly greeted by a taller gentleman (didn't get his name but he was tending bar) who brought us menus and told us our server Matthew would be with us shortly. Less than a minute later, we had Matt! He was so delightful, recommended a great drink for my boyfriend and a delicious salmon pasta for myself. The drinks were out in two minutes and the food out in less than ten! Matt checked in on us often, and gladly gave us some recommendations for breakfast. Despite being very busy he never let us feel we were bothering him. Glad we tried this place out for ourselves without letting the negative reviews influence us - this is the best eating experience we've had in Fernie!

$7 for a breakfast that wasn't even warm. Waited for 30mins for a simple over easy and bacon thing. Not impressed. Not recommended

This is a big cafeteria/ coffee shop style place. I found the name misleading as this place did not have a large selection of baked goods. My bf and I visited at 3 pm and enjoyed their $10 pizza happy hours from 3-5pm. The pizza was thin-crusted and 10 inches. We got the Quattro kind with ham, artichoke, mushrooms and olives. I liked it and was impressed with the quality. I give it 3 stars because of its misleading name. We went in expecting coffee and dessert but got pizza.

The restaurant looks fairly new; it looks like a new location according to other reviews. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating; wish there were fans outside as it was pretty hot yesterday. The staff was super friendly as they left a water bowl by our seat for my pup. We ordered their non alcoholic drinks: Portland Rain and Virgin Margarita with Passion Fruit. It was quite refreshing with the summer heat. Personally, I like the Portland Rain/kiwi lemonade. For food, we ordered cod Fritters, braised oxtail and French fried chicken. The cod fritters reminded me of oyster pancakes from Taiwan with the chewy and doughy texture. You can't quite taste the cod because it's all blended inside the fritter mix but I like flavor and it's filling for an appetizer. The braised oxtail fell right off the bone. It was delicious but I wish there was more Jamaican heat or seasoning to it. The coconut rice was good; I'm usually not a fan of coconut but their rice gives the aroma of coconut without being too powering in flavor. The fried chicken was amazing and I like the herbs they used, which makes it stand out from the Southern style fried chicken. The sauce that came with the fried chicken was unique, and has a sweet taste to it. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is staying in the area or visiting.

There was a lot of heavy cream on the menu, but that's a minority objection that I know most people don't share. For our chosen dishes, the overall vibe was contemporary Californian, which is a pretty unusual vibe to walk into without a reservation, and did I mention it's within a national park? By comparison on the USA side, Many Glacier Hotel's restaurant is perfectly fine and quite scenic but it doesn't hold a candle to this place, whose food I'd actually be willing to eat again in a regular city with competition. We walked in as a 2-top but larger groups would probably want to make a reservation.

The wait staffs here (only 2) were ultra busy because the restaurant got full pretty fast. However, they were both friendly, helpful, and attentive. We ordered some ales, bison lasagna, hamburger, and tiramisu. Bison lasagna was very delicious, and hamburger was one of the best I had in a long time. Tiramisu was also delicious, maybe not the traditional flavour, but still very good. I will easily go back here next time I am in Waterton! Thank you so much for such a great service!
