Executed a quote for repainting the concrete front porch of an historic home downtown. Quote was high but not entirely unreasonable for high-quality work, but what I received was far from that. Very little surface prep or removal of old paint was completed. Paint was applied just hours after pressure washing. Even a novice painter knows that this is poor workmanship. Additionally, the onsite employee's wife (presumably unpaid) assisted in the work after bringing him lunch. The newly applied paint began to peel and separate in some areas within days of application. Notification of this fact to the company via text was essentially met with indifference and a recommendation that we touch it up ourselves. I consider myself lucky that I did not hire Red Rock Painting for the full exterior paint job on the home and cannot in good conscience recommend their work. read more

I did not have a good experience with Ralph and Red Rock Painting. I truly believe in supporting small business, however, if that business doesn't deliver or follow through then that's when feedback needs to be provided as in this case. I submitted a request for a quote via YELP this past Sunday. I received and email from Ralph requesting more information. I contact him by phone on Monday morning and gave detail of what I needed a quote for - interior painting on a commercial office space (including a wall with stripping) and exterior paint on a larger commercial structure. Ralph said he could come Wednesday but had a doctors appointment and would come in the afternoon. I called this morning (Wednesday) to confirm the appointment and try to get more definitive time. I also shared with him that I couldn't be onsite but that he would meet directly with my client whom I doing the project for. He again stated he had a doctors appointment and another quote. I told him I would text him the contact of my client and asked that he come closer to 2pm. He agreed and told me he would call me when he was on his way. I text the requested information to him. At 1:45pm my client got a phone call stating that Ralph was onsite. He did not call either of us to say he was en route. My client headed to the location and arrived in less than 5 minutes. Only to find that Ralph expressed that he was not going to sit around and "wait on someone," left his business card and left. Upon hearing this I called Ralph and asked what happened. He claimed he had been waiting for 15 minutes (which is untrue) nor did he ever reach out to either myself or my client to let us know he was on his way or waiting. He offered no apology, nor did he even attempt to offer to make things right. Definitely not an example of customer service or B2B relationship building. And for him a loss of what could have been multiple projects. read more

I got several quotes for painting the interior of my home- this price was unbeatable. I was nervous it would mean I could pay for it in quality. I was absolutely wrong. The team painted my 2,500 sq foot home in about 4 days. Walls, ceilings, baseboards, and doors. The work was detailed, clean, and I liked working with the ladies when they were in my home. They were respectful of our things and cared for our floors and fixtures by covering things really thoroughly. We will be using this company for our other homes. We were very happy with our choice to work with Red Rock Painting. After doing some research, I decided to reach out to them for a quote and Ralph responded quickly by phone. He was very easy to communicate with, both by email and phone. I was able to schedule an appointment to have the exterior of our house painted within a week of contacting Red Rock. Many other companies have much longer waiting lists! I wasn't sure what color paint to go with, so Ralph suggested I go to Dunn Edwards for a free consultation. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and have our house mocked up with paint colors, which was so helpful! The painting crew arrived to prep the house on time. They did a great job of prepping our old house by removing old shutters, clearing off peeling paint, and removing items from around the house so they wouldn't get paint on them. They also cleaned up an older paint job by straightening lines and fixing messy finishes from the past. Not a lot of reviews for Red Rock so I had to look at the BBB first and do some other investigation before giving them a shot. I got two estimates: one for the weathered portion of our house's exterior and one to do the entire house. I selected the smaller project to test them out and because I figured I had a couple of more years before the entire house needed painting. Ralph came out and looked over the project and basically agreed with my assessment of the needs...which was a good sign. He presented two estimates and I gave him the go ahead for the smaller project. One painter showed up with Ralph on the day of the project. That was fine. Any more people and someone would probably have ended up in the pool. I had contacted my HOA for the proper color scheme (our house is only 5 years old). Having forwarded the color scheme to Ralph earlier, he walked the house and then sent his painter to get the necessary paint. Unfortunately, our HOA was flat out wrong in the scheme they provided. The HOA blamed it on the builder but didn't say what would have happened if we had gone with the incorrect scheme. Lesson learned. Ralph had to charge me for the extra paint and I understood. The good news is that they were able to salvage some of the incorrect colors and blend them to match our actual colors. A small mix up did occur when painting the window sills. The color selected matched portions of the house but didn't match what all the pop outs were originally. The painter probably should have recognized the difference but didn't and that's the only reason I can't give 5 stars. You can tell a lot about a company when something goes wrong and Ralph really stepped up. He came back out with his painter and made sure the color was corrected. Ralph even noticed a small spot that the painter needed to touch up which is consistent with the only other Yelp review I could find. I love to support small, local businesses and recommend Red Rock Painting. Yes, I plan to use them again when the entire house needs to be refreshed. I just hope he keeps a record of the colors he used for this project!! read more

Cried happy tears when I saw what an impeccable job Ralph's team did! They deserve 10 stars if I could. Flipping homes is not easy, especially when the walls are 62 years old with many layers of chipped paint, peeling drywall, awful texture and enough drip marks to fill a paint can. Red Rick Painting did a great job painting the exterior of my home. I had stucco done on the block wall, repairs to patio drywall and 2-tone paint for the house body and trim. Great, professional service Red Rock is one of four companies we considered to paint the entire interior of our 2000 sq ft home, including ceilings, doors, and baseboards and trim. Ralph, the owner/estimator, came for the estimate in a timely fashion (arriving at or a little before the time he said he would), looked around and sent us an email estimate promptly. The estimate was thorough including items we said we didn't want included as options and the price to complete this. The bid was not the lowest, but in the middle. However, the customer service and thorough nature of the bid convinced us to use Red Rock. The painters did a great job, and finished on time per estimate. My wife and I changed our minds on color, after a couple rooms were painted. This meant repainting and buying new paint. After the job was completed, Ralph was fair and calm in settling these extra costs, that were not his fault, but that we didn't expect to get gouged for. We didn't; all was settled reasonably. I am very pleased to be writing this review about my experience with Red Rock Painting. Red Rock painted the exterior of my home and the inside of my garage recently. It looks great! My neighbors have stopped and told me how good it looks from the street and how consistent it looks from morning to afternoon to evening with regard to the changes in sunlight. Red Rock was very meticulous in preparing the house for painting, from cleaning it, to masking off the windows and other features that needed to stay free of paint, to pulling the rock away from the foundation, to scraping the loose, blistered paint that was present from the previous paint job. Red Rock was on time each day and worked full days in a very logical and deliberate manner being careful and thorough to apply the paint properly. They were also very good at cleaning up each day and at the end of the project. Ralph Carrasco, the principal, was a straight shooter. He did what he said he would do and his team was really good at their work. Ralph quoted me a fair price for the work based on the 5 competitive quotes that I obtained before making my decision to go with Red Rock. Ralph also gave me his word that if I saw anything after the job was complete that I wanted touched up or corrected that he would take care of it to my satisfaction. I had a few things that I wanted redone about 2 weeks after the job was completed and Ralph responded to my e-mail promptly and scheduled the work within a few days. I was very happy with his response and the touch-up work that his crew did. Getting your house painted here is a risky venture as there are many who claim they will do the job right. I can't say enough AMAZING things about Red Rock Painting! I had an insanely difficult timeline to work with and Ralph and his wonderful crew made magic happen! I called Ralph Tuesday, met with him at my new home Wednesday, had the crew in first thing Friday AND finished Friday so that we could move in Saturday! Oh and not to mention, I had to change all of the paint colors Thursday night AND had 7... yes 7 different colors for the house! Ralph was available morning, noon and night by call and text, providing more than exceptional customer service! Antonio, our main painter, was detail oriented and positive every step of the way! He staid the entire night promising us that our new home would be move in ready within a day. The crew put in well over 16 hours that day and never once took a break or always had a smiles on their faces. Antonio then came Saturday morning and did a walk through with us and everything was perfect! I am quite OCD and he found things he wanted to fix that I didn't even see. Ralph came over moving day as well to do a second walk through... again, unbelievable customer service! I have been working with contractors and vendors for years and they are hands down the BEST!!! I highly recommend Red Rock Painting. Ralph came out timely for the estimate and what made his company stand out from the many bids I received from other companies was he was able to replace some rotted wood fascia boards and repair a wood door frame that was chewed on by one of my dogs years ago when they were puppies. He did not have to sub out this work and involve a separate contracting company which requires extra time and expense. To my surprise most painters don't do this type of work and a few did not even have a contractor they could refer. Not only was he competitive on the painting bid, but the fact he could do this extra work with his own paint team and not sub out is really what sealed the deal. It made Red Rock a one stop shop for my exterior painting needs. Ralph also includes a 5 year warranty on the paint so you know he stands behind his work. They were also able to start the job the following week. Some painting companies told me they were booked until June. The unexpected bonus I received once the job started was Ralph assigning his team of Nacho and Juan to my project. Not only were these two gentleman polite and not intrusive at all when working on the job, but they finished on schedule, cleaned up their work space each day, and the kicker, DID NOT WAKE UP MY 2 AND A HALF YEAR OLD DAUGHTER who naps in the afternoon. All three days they were working on my house, they made sure not to work outside my daughter's bedroom during her nap times or in the morning before she woke up. Anyone with little ones knows how frustrating it is when your child gets woken from their nap. In conclusion, my house turned out looking phenomenal, there were no surprises when the final invoice was presented, and the job was done on time. Nacho always confirmed things with me during the job to make sure there were no mistakes and that everything was done to my satisfaction. He also walked the entire house with me at the end and touched up some minor areas that were missed. The fact that they can handle extra repairs that normally need to be outsourced to a contractor is a huge plus and really sets these guys apart from the competition.
