    Our room.
    Jenni L.

Stayed 11/5/16-11/6/16 Upon entering this hotel my first thought was, this is nice. It was very modern and very clean , very sophisticated looking. I had never heard of the hotel chain so I didn't know what to expect. But I was pretty impressed most the time I was there. The elevators were clean, the hallways were clean the bedroom was very clean. The bathrooms were clean. The only thing I found odd about the hotel was that in the room there was not a TV remote, we actually had to call the front desk and request one. However, I did notice a couple of other rooms doing the same so I assume it's like that in every room. I also noticed in the room but there was nothing that talked about the red river inn or that told you about any amenities nearby. I understand that this is kind of in the middle of nowhere but that was still strange that I didn't know where the nearest restaurants were or the nearest convenience stores or that there wasn't anything that talked about the casino. The best part about this hotel was the shuttle that ran every 15 minutes to take you to and from the casino. That was hands-down the best amenity that this hotel had to offer. Since I didn't see the swimming pool and I didn't make it down for breakfast, I can't comment on that but I went to this hotel to see a concert at the casino so it was absolutely perfect. I would definitely go back and I would definitely suggest that anybody else go there too. The staff was also very nice and very accommodating and there was never a second that no one was at the front desk. Just so you know you are allowed to carry alcohol to and from the casino and you can take it on the shuttle so take those to go cups and fill up in your hotel room and head to the casino and have a great time, nobody even blinks an eye at you. It's a wonderful trip and a wonderful place to stay.

When booking, it was a cold, rainy night, and we were excited to see there was a shuttle to the casino. Because of Covid restrictions, however, the shuttle is not in operation for a while. Keep that in mind when you call for a room. Accommodations were comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. There is a station set up inside the lobby for sanitizing, and free masks are available.

The coffee in the lobby tastes like an old ashtray, the staff are as friendly as they can be. The 3rd floor where we stayed was horrible and this is not an understatement. It was a smoking floor as that is all they had available. It smelled so stick of cigarettes that it instantly started to irritate my throat. We seen housekeeping staff member who was spraying deodorizer on the carpet as we were walking up the hallway I stopped her and asked her if she could come inside of our room and spray our room as well and she did. Fast forward to Sunday night we were due to leave the next morning and we were getting our items together and my husband seen a roach runoff the luggage under the sofa he pulled the sofa from the wall took a picture of the roach and then killed it after that happened I could not turn off the lights to the room cause I was scared if I turned out the lights maybe other roaches would come out so it made for a horrible last night and they need to do some extermination and some carpet cleaning, and some wall painting in that hotel. Do better ass we had three rooms as we came down as a family and was very disappointed.

The property is beautiful and serene, they've absolutely nailed the old world style, and the FOOD--oh my God, I've never had anything like it. We stayed in the Austrian Haus, and splurged on the Ultimate VIP Package, and it was worth every penny. The Room: The Austrian Haus is very roomy and comfortable, with a beautiful old world rustic feel to it. I loved everything about it, ESPECIALLY the spa shower and sauna room. Large, open shower area, and an infrared sauna that my husband and I enjoyed so much, it's got us looking for saunas in our area. We came to Muenster just to stay here, and between that and the late July heat making the outdoors a bit more than we could stand, we ended up lounging around in here for most of our stay. Comfy seating, strong wifi, and satellite TV, so we didn't feel cooped up, at all. Loved it, and I'm seriously torn between a desire to check out some of the other accommodations next time, and just continuing to book this one, because we enjoyed it so much. The Property: Absolutely gorgeous farm, nestled in the woods. The Austrian Haus is right next to the garden, so we had an excellent view of a variety of fruit trees, and rows of vegetables. There are also chickens, goats, and some miniature donkeys nearby. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would've liked due to our brilliant decision to come in the hottest part of the summer, but what we did see was beautiful. I look forward to coming back in a cooler part of the year! The Food: They're serious about the farm to table concept, and it shows! Between that and Marcia's incredible culinary skills, these were honestly some of the best meals my husband and I have ever eaten. You can taste the respect for the ingredients in every bite. Everything on the plate shines, and the vegetables are NOT just sides--we found ourselves enjoying them every bit as much as the meat. Even the salads are so good, they had us scraping the bowl! The homemade cheeses are phenomenal, and have effectively ruined even the Whole Foods cheese counter for me. And the desserts! I didn't end up taking any photos during our 3 course dinner in the manner, but I should have. That apple blueberry crumble pie was INCREDIBLE, as well as beautifully plated. I could go on for paragraphs about the food, alone. If Marcia ever publishes a cookbook, I'll preorder. The Add-Ons: There's a number of different packages to choose from, and we went with the "Ultimate VIP Package", to try a bit of everything. Pricey, but SO worth it! To run through some of the items included in it: 1) The snack basket was fantastic. Things like this usually seem to have a few good items on top, but are mostly so-so filler, after that. Not here! We enjoyed everything in it, including some old favorites we hadn't seen in years. 2) The European chocolates are SO GOOD. I now understand why Europeans think our chocolate is garbage. 3) The farm gift we got was a jar of their delicious pickles! I haven't had homemade pickles like this since I was a kid, and don't tell my grandparents, but these are better. 4) We both got a 70 minute massage each, and I don't think we've felt more relaxed, in our lives. We've now decided these are essential, and are looking into local places. 5) The treasure hunt was wonderful. The clues aren't meant to be difficult, and lead you on a nice tour around the property. Each comes with a question or series of questions that had my husband and I sharing our feelings (big deal for him, given how emotionally constipated he normally is!), reminiscing, and laughing. And at the end, more delicious cookies! 6) That charcuterie board was TOP NOTCH. The homemade cheeses and summer sausage were to die for. 7) The private dinner in the library at the manor was lovely. Very romantic setting, and amazing meal. The People: All were friendly and helpful. The owners are fantastic people. We got to chat with Brad a few times, as he goes out to deliver breakfast trays, himself. We only met Marcia at the Saturday night dinner, and enjoyed hearing about the methods they use to preserve food from summer, to use during the winter (they do as much as they can the way folks did 150-200 years ago, so lost of drying and canning!). The way we scheduled everything, we only got to attend one social hour, but I hope to spend more time chatting with them on future visits. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, my husband and I had a wonderful time and left feeling refreshed and energized, and we've decided we're going to have to make this trip once every year or two, and in different seasons (to try out the different seasonal menus). We really want to see it in the winter! I highly recommend Elm Creek Manor, and look forward to future stays.

The building is secure, with a code to get into the building and to your room. There is a covered parking area that is very near the Schillinghaus entrance, which is on the back side of a dental office. This is not a typical bed and breakfast, as no breakfast is actually served. You are given two, $5 coupons with your choice of three local eateries/convenience stores. You also have a fully functional kitchen in your room. The kitchen has complimentary coffee, chips, soda, water, oatmeal, and crackers. There is a full size fridge, microwave, stove, coffee maker, and other kitchen items in the closet. You must climb stairs to get to your room, but no fear, they will soon be opening a handicap accessible, "white room," which will be ground level. Everything was extremely clean, stylish, and homey. The bathroom has lots of towels, rose petals soaps, and all toilette are stocked - shampoo, body wash, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and floss were all available, as well as a hair dryer. The bedroom had a queen size bed, which was rather hard, but the pillows were heavenly. There is WiFi, which was weak in the room, but functional. There is a TV in the bedroom and living room. There is a shared fitness room - which consists of an elliptical - between two rooms. I am giving Schillinghaus 4 out of 5 stars because it was private, homey, and relaxing, however, you can hear nearby road noise, the bed was not as comfortable as I would like, and the stairs were a surprise. Everything else was absolutely perfect. You have little to no human contact, which was perfect for me. The only reason we saw anyone is they were working outside and we happened to see them as we were leaving. After saying all this, I would definitely recommend Schillinghaus to a friend. In fact, I would love to go back!

It was my second time but my husbands first time. We checked in at the spa tower. Valet was included in our resort fee of 19.99 per day. Check in was easy and we went to get our casino cards. We walked around about 4 hours, even tho our room was ready when we arrived. Dropped our bags and left. We were on the 9th floor. Nice room and decent view. The casino is gigantic! So many games, slots and table games. There is a movie theater , concert venue, bowling alley, arcade, several restaurants and bars and a food court. We didn't make it to the pool but got wristbands in case we had time. Only there for 1 night. Casino: slots were tight but I played for most of the night on various blackjack and roulette games. My winnings were steady. There are plenty of machines. The only negative is while you are playing, bar service is pretty much nonexistent. I saw waitresses walking around the tables but not once at the machines and we were all over. Get your own drinks at a bar or cart before sitting or prepare to get up to get them. Food: we ate at Smashburger for lunch. I really enjoyed my burger and fries. They were smash fries with a nice sauce on them and truffle oil. The burger was flavorful. I got a caramel Cinnabon. Another great treat. For dinner we went to the seafood buffet. It was 55.00 each and we were excited. Every.single.thing was overcooked. Fried fish, shrimp, chicken and snow crabs, all overcooked so hard I couldn't finish one bite of any of them. That bad. The etouffee was good but the rice was crispy. I immediately called for the manager. She apologized profusely and offered a full refund. Yeah we couldn't eat there. Great service and I hope they took the feedback and made changes. Finally, I ate velvet taco and hubby had chicken strips from the hot chicken place , good late night eats on both fronts. Checkout time on Sunday arrived too fast but we got packed up to hit the road and got our free soft drinks to go. Got the valet validated and on our way. Excellent stay and we will go back. You do not have to leave once you get there.

The crab legs were very skinny with little to no meat inside of them. If you need me to elaborate on the rest of the restaurants I certainly can. I for one don't feel like it's worth my time. I already wasted my money.
