My family and I went to this place over 5 years ago and the experience was so fun and memorable that my brother and I decided to come back a few weeks ago. (His review is here somewhere if you'd like to read) Once again, the place was cute and had creative holes and was the perfect place to spend a nice summer night. The family who runs it were very kind to us and both my brother and I guessed the number of M&M's in a jar as part of one of their deals they have around the place. In a very funny chance, I happened to guess almost the exactly right number. The owners of Red Putter mailed me the jar of candy across state lines and it certainly made the whole place one I'll never forget. Thank you Red Putter fam, y'all are awesome!

Absolutely outstanding mini-golf: a beautiful synthesis of thoughtful architecture and decorative whimsy, at the perfect level of challenge to accommodate both serious players and dilettantes. Furthermore, it is obviously lovingly maintained, old-school without looking old. All this delight for a mere four bucks per round. Best dollar-per-minute value in Door County, period. The guy who runs this place is the best. He let us start on the back nine since a gaggle of teenage girls had arrived just ahead of us. Then later after we wrapped up, he gave us some hints for the "guess the M&Ms" game, AND told us a hilarious joke. And, you know, was just generally an all-around really cool and friendly dude.

    This place rocks!

First time at Red Putter. Delightful and economical. Heard they hold a mini golf championship. Will definitely be back.

How have I never reviewed "pirate golf"?! We played here as kids when we'd come on family…read morevacations, and always had fun. We played a round on a recent trip here, and somehow our middle aged selves did much better than our tween to teen selves...either we acquired more mini golf skill over the years or the holes are easier...I'll go with the former! We had fun and enjoyed the nostalgia. This course does involve some stairs, so not an accessible course for anyone with mobility challenges. Pro tip...there is a hole where your ball can roll right off the edge into the water..,if it does that you'll need to walk back to the shop to get a new ball...there is no net or anything to catch the balls at the end of the little stream....so....have a buddy stand there to grab your ball out of the water quickly before it hits the big pond...part of the "adventure"!

We actually tried to go to a non-chain spot but alas, they were cash only and we didn't have cash. So, off to Pirate's Cove we went. What's not to love? Pirate's Cove offers a fun, challenging, and well maintained miniature golf course. We were there on a Friday and it was busy but not annoyingly so. We had to wait a short time at each hole for the folks in front of us (as did the folks behind us). But, again, nothing too lengthy and overall everything flowed rather well. The prices are pretty average in my experience and the service was friendly. Get to it!

One of the strangest customer service experiences I've ever had. We went to the batting cage, and…read moreafter the machines ate our quarters, the medium speed cage worked outta nowhere for another guy. That machine then never stopped feeding baseballs, so we stepped in and started hitting. Shortly after that, a young guy who is apparently the batting attendant started being antagonistic towards us, saying he needed "to cut us off" and "you've had more than your fair share." We thought he was joking at first... nope. Keep in mind, 3 of his 5 other cages didn't work, and no one else was in line. We were the only ones there. We told him it's your problem your machine didn't stop - and better that someone actually hit them rather than the balls not getting used at all. He then blamed us for "draining the whole dang thing." He then demanded we leave two quarters on top of the machine and he came back around and approached us and took our two quarters saying "I think you guys owe me." and then walked off. Just an incredibly perplexing and angering experience. Kid thinks he's the county sheriff or something. Honestly just hilarious that he was on a power trip over 50 cents and due to his machines functioning like absolute crap. Maybe fix your batting machines before you start being extremely rude and condescending towards already paying customers. Guy was actually insane. Will never go back.

We have been coming to Door County every year since 1989, making a visit to Johnson's Park each…read moretime. It is unbelievable how much they've let this place go. Everything looks like it's falling apart. The go-karts are slow and sputter along like old jalopies. They must have had the same ones for over 40 years, they definitely appear as such. The batting cages don't work anymore, either. It just isn't what it was in the 90's or 00's...the owners have apparently just been running the place into the ground over the last 10 years trying to soak every dollar out of it before retiring and selling it off. It has really taken a dive over the last few. It's not worth coming here until new management takes over and revamps everything. Anyone giving a 3-star or higher review of this park is either a bot or completely clueless.
