One of the strangest customer service experiences I've ever had. We went to the batting cage, and after the machines ate our quarters, the medium speed cage worked outta nowhere for another guy. That machine then never stopped feeding baseballs, so we stepped in and started hitting. Shortly after that, a young guy who is apparently the batting attendant started being antagonistic towards us, saying he needed "to cut us off" and "you've had more than your fair share." We thought he was joking at first... nope. Keep in mind, 3 of his 5 other cages didn't work, and no one else was in line. We were the only ones there. We told him it's your problem your machine didn't stop - and better that someone actually hit them rather than the balls not getting used at all. He then blamed us for "draining the whole dang thing." He then demanded we leave two quarters on top of the machine and he came back around and approached us and took our two quarters saying "I think you guys owe me." and then walked off. Just an incredibly perplexing and angering experience. Kid thinks he's the county sheriff or something. Honestly just hilarious that he was on a power trip over 50 cents and due to his machines functioning like absolute crap. Maybe fix your batting machines before you start being extremely rude and condescending towards already paying customers. Guy was actually insane. Will never go back. read more

We have been coming to Door County every year since 1989, making a visit to Johnson's Park each time. It is unbelievable how much they've let this place go. Everything looks like it's falling apart. The go-karts are slow and sputter along like old jalopies. They must have had the same ones for over 40 years, they definitely appear as such. The batting cages don't work anymore, either. It just isn't what it was in the 90's or 00's...the owners have apparently just been running the place into the ground over the last 10 years trying to soak every dollar out of it before retiring and selling it off. It has really taken a dive over the last few. It's not worth coming here until new management takes over and revamps everything. Anyone giving a 3-star or higher review of this park is either a bot or completely clueless. read more

Go karts are extremely unsafe here and pick up speed way to quick here and need to accelerate a little bit slower and need to be updated we accidentally hit the gas to fast and hit the way the lady at front desk started yelling at us giving us mean looks which I understand her job is to keep everyone safe I get that but instead of screaming at us she could of been professional about it.. they should check out to see if people are old enough to drive and have people sighn a wavier.... read more

I like Johnson's because it reminds me of a place that debauchary would go down behind the batting cages after dark. It's not all fancy pants like Grandma Tommy, but it's got character & heart. Lady at the Go-Karts was rude. Nit enjoyable and will never go back. We were going to go mini golfing and bat at the batting cage. Ended up going next door to the Pirates Cove for mini-golf and has a much better time. read more

The lady taking money from the go karts caused me to leave. My son was tall enough but she acted like he wasn't old enough. When he turned out to be a year older than necessary she did not believe us. She said the karts did 20 mph and asked if he had driven them before and we said yes. I've taken him to K1 in Chicago, but she wasn't listening. She came out again when we got in the cars and was instructing and lecturing simultaneously. Then when we got onto the track, the carts did not even come close to 20mph. Maybe 10. Maybe... We got off the track and my son said his kart was pulling to the right. I noticed his right front had an unusual shape. So we went and looked at it as the next group was loading in. Sure enough the tire was very misshapen, appearing to have no grip. I pointed it out to my son and the lady interrupted me to say it's a flat tire. We finished my statement to my son about how you can't get any grip while turning, trying to teach him something about driving. She looked right at me and said, "it's called a flat tire, sir." The girl who just got in the cart asked if she should get out. The lady said no. So not only was she lecturing me about my son appeari my to be too young and concerned about the cars going to fast, she willingly put him in a kart with a flat right front - didn't care - just wanted to be right or angry about some slight or event which didn't even concern me. I left. We're playing mini golf next door. Nice course. Nice people. read more

This place is a busy. $6 per ride on the go karts. Cash only. No family could "spend the day" here. Terrible.

I did a tandem kart with my daughter. We had a great time initially until I pulled in to finish. All I did was park the kart in the exact same spot we got in at, even with the other kart line. This dude comes over to me and says "im genuinely curious, did you not see the red line!?" I thought he was joking at first and then I realized he was serious. I've got no clue what this guy is talking about, and he points to a red chalk line that I was apparently supposed to park behind. Ok, I'll move it back five feet? Get an orange cone. I've come here my whole life, no exaggeration. Between this, the run down golf course, and all the other employees having a crap attitude (other than the nice girl in the arcade that barely works) Never again. read more

This was a childhood place growing up. Used to love it here but it has been run down. The go cart track had water puddle that splashed you when you ran over it and couldn't avoid it. The batting cages have holes in the nets and look like they haven't had upkeep in years. It's a shame as this place used to be a great tourist attraction. read more

Very skeptical about this place. Seeing a waterpark and mini golf in the same course? Heck to the yea! min golf was subpar to say the least. expecting a challenge? Well don't. The only battle you'll have is against yourself trying to keep the ball on the green, ughh!. Well it doesn't just end there folks! after the last hole of this weak 9 holes of "mini put" my buddy decided to take a refreshing dip (since they don't sell beer!) in the pool. Next thing you know we are getting walked out by an employee telling us there swimming pool is closed because it' wasn't even a swimming pool and it was just part of the course?!? Are you kidding me? No refund or nothin. next time you best believe Mr. Hankey might be paying that same swimming pool a visit. Would recommend for family or kids. 9/10. read more

Johnson's Park is one of my favorite must-do's on a summertime trip to Door County. Located just outside Sister Bay, it's right next door to Pirate's Cove, which may look more enticing. Don't do it! Head to Johnson's. The mini-golf course is really a lot of fun. I have great memories of the water features from when I was little. You take a little walk through the "cave", and there's even a window with the waterfall flowing over it. Very refreshing to stick your hands (or head!) in there on a hot August day. Johnson's also has batting cages, go-karts, and (if memory serves), a little arcade. But our family always sticks to that fun mini-golf course. (Word to the wise: there's a trick to that hole with the narrow strip of green next to the water trap.) ;-) read more

Great place with reasonable prices. Went here with 8 people and we used the batting cages, go-carting and played some indoor video games. Lots of fun! Tip: When you ride the go-carts, be sure to go more than once, because some cars are super fast and others are a bit slower. :-) read more

Being right next door to the competition is rough, but Johnsons Park is well worth stopping in. We always start with some 25 cent skeeball in the arcade then move on to the mini golf. The greens are all different colors and the holes can be challenging. The course is rarely backed up so you can enjoy a round at a good pace. If you keep the score card you will have a dollar off your next round. The batting cages and go karts are always enjoyable too. You get a pretty long ride for the cost of the go karts. read more

Johnson's is a great place to take the kids to have some fun for a couple hours. The go karts and mini golf are always a big hit. I love the "old school" feel of this place. Kind of takes me back to my childhood in the early/mid 80s with the arcade, batting cages. This is a place we'll always visit when in DC. Even though it is "old school" it seems like they could stand to make a few upgrades, specifically on the mini golf course and in the arcade. On a couple holes on the mini golf. there's places where you can lose your ball and not be able to retrieve it. We've been taking our kids years, they love it and we'll be back. It wouldn't be a trip to DC without going to Johnson's. read more

The mini-golf was okay. Definitely need to replace the "greens" on a few holes though. We stopped here because Pirate's Cove and Red Putter were packed. So I guess you could say the best part of the place is that it wasn't as busy as the other 2 nearby competitors. They also have go-karts, batting cages, etc which we did not try. read more

This place was okay. Pretty run down and tired. Looks good from the road, but kinda sketchy up close. For a tourist town, I expected more. Should accept credit/debit cards, pass on the processing fee if you have to. A bit loose on safety protocols: propping up smaller kids on the go-karts with bed pillows, not checking every seat belt even when the child called it out. This place is in a great location but needs some TLC to get back to what it probably once was. read more

I have been going to this park for over 10 years, I am not sure if the business has a new owner or what has happened in the last year...but, the staff is miserable there - from the women selling go-cart tickets to the teens working the prize counter in the game building (they roll their rolls and do make heavy sighs when you ask for a prize or change for a $20 - charge you would spend on their games!). My first experience like this at the park, happened over the 4th of July 2016 and I thought maybe the poor service was a fluke. My husband and I were there again the first week in August 2016 and experienced the same thing, unhappy rude workers. Last comment, avoid the games - half don't work just to begin with , the machines that appear to be working will take your money but don't actually work OR the machine won't distribute tickets if you have earned them. If you are nostalgic about how go kart places were in the 70s and 80s, this place is for you. Older go karts, fairly basic mini-golf (but a way better deal than Pirate's Cove next door) and inexpensive batting cages. Also because its not shiny and new, a lot of the uppity people that visit Door County stay away so crowds are minimal. No lines for mini golf or go karts when we were there. The prices are great. The bad - no credit cards (or even an ATM on site that I saw) so it seems by saving on credit card fees they are missing out on additional revenue when people want to do another run on the go karts or a round of mini-golf but don't have cash on hand. Also when we were there part of the mini golf was flooded by their own man-made stream. Employees are somewhat disinterested. One never got off the phone while we were buying tickets and seemed to have a very short fuse with some customers and one of her employees who she berated for not checking something despite the employee insisting she did. read more

Great place to have some family fun supporting a local place, without spending a fortune next door at a Pirates Cove chain. It's not the most glamorous, but that just means you wont have to wait in line behind the ritzy Door County tourists. They don't take card, but they do have an ATM on site. Granted the place could use some updating, but for the cost and experience with the mini go-karts for the kids was awesome! There's more to do then the mini golf that pirate's only have. No issues with the staff and was very happy we didn't have to pay extra for the kids to go on the regular go-karts. Definitely we will be going back! read more

I grow up at Johnson's park, my sister worked there and my dad was a part time maintenance man there so I was there all the time. I hadn't been there for years after I moved away. I came back home for the summer of 2013 and worked nights and the park and they redid all the greens on the mini golf. So if you haven't been there in a wile and remember the golf being run down then you should really go check it out again because it is much better now. Johnson's park might not be the most modern place in Door County but it has a great nostalgic feel to it and makes people of any age feel like a kid again. read more
