During our recent trip to Door County, WI we headed over to the Egg Harbor Fun Park to zip with Gravity Trails. I have to be honest with you when we first arrived I was a little bummed. I only saw two poles and thought we were just zipping from one to the other. You know the saying "Never judge a book by it's cover" that holds true for zip lines too. The four of us put on our gear and awaited instructions. See the slats going up to the platform everyone is standing on? We got there by climbing up a rock wall! It wasn't bad at all and I have to say it was a really cool way to start the course. I offered to go first out of our group of 4. There were 4 zip lines and they were each a little different. I did try jumping and off course going across with out holding on. This was not my first time so I started out by letting go. Actually I also did that on my first time too. I have been zip lining with others who were nervous though and I just want to reassure you that our guides were amazing! They explained everything to us and reassured us. One of us didn't make it all the way over and zipped back to the center. They told us that there's usually one in every group. Hey, it makes for a great story and great pics! As soon as it happened Ben readjusted and headed out on his rescue mission. The upper arm strength was incredible. I mean I would have to tell you "Hang on and I'll go get someone." I guess that's why I write and don't lead zip line tours. I had a fantastic time! Gravity Tours also offers kayaking tours and Gem Mining.

Our kids went through a couple of buckets of sand and had a blast. They make sure that everyone finds at least a few of the extra special gems too. My 9 year old was thrilled to discover a couple of arrowheads in his bucket! They have zip lining, go carts, batting cages, arcade games as well so there's something for everyone to enjoy. We are glad we made the stop!

Steve initially sent me a quote/estimate for the work, $2650 and about 2 months time to complete. 29 weeks later my car is "done" and they are asking for $9800 for the exact work stated on the quote. Now I assumed that the quote was low, but not $7000 low. It was obvious my car was not a priority as when I would call to get an update I was told numerous times that the tech ran into an issue and was taken off the car and they were waiting for the other car to be completed before putting him back on mine. At the first indication that I was not happy with how the work was going they did not hesitate one bit to tell me to pay my bill and come pick up the car uncompleted. They knew they had me over a barrel as I needed the car done by a date and was 8hrs away. I went and picked up the car after they claimed it was done, owing about $3000 left on the bill. Regretfully wrote them a check as after looking over once home the car was clearly not done and the work that was preformed was very sub-par. The tune was the main reason for bringing the car here, but the transient throttle setting in the ECU was not setup so the car would fall on its face when slamming gears. I had to have another shop complete this work on the tune. Here is the list of the mechanical issues I found after getting the car back from what I can remember as there were so many. 1. The speedometer did not work when the car was picked up. This is due to the fact that they for some reason routed the engine harness wires for the transmission to the driver side headlight, zip tied in place and left hanging. They told me they assumed the speedometer never worked instead of asking about it. 2.The hood wouldnt close with how the intercooler was put back in, as it did before. 3. Missing transmission plate that goes on the block on the passenger side, and missing throttle cable bracket that goes in-between the LIM and UIM. 4. Electrical tape was just wrapped around the battery fuse block terminal. 5. The cover in the truck for the fuel pump hanger was just left not screwed down and rattling like crazy when driving the car, also the screws are no where to be found. 6. They let my battery die and it would not hold a charge after. I even gave them my maintainer, it was not used. They couldnt even find it when I came to pick up the car. 7. They kept setting off the alarm somehow so instead of putting it into passive mode they just disconnected the siren and did not hook it back up when I picked up the car. 8. The turbo blanket that I provided was not tied down and was just sitting on the turbo. 9. They did not follow the vacuum line routing instructions for the dual port wastegate and it had to be redone. They also did not know how to setup the wastegate properly and I had to have another competing company hold their hand to get this setup right. 10. Stripped out holes on the new intake manifold, had to be coiled to be put back on. 11. Grounded the chassis harness to the block using a cooling drain hole. 12. Gave the car back to me with a broken clutch fork. 13. The car would fuel cut in a straight line with how they re-installed the same fuel pump I had before. It did not fuel cut previously. 14. Spilled what looks like some kind of acid on my brand new Work wheels, ate through the finish on the lip. Again there are more issues I am forgetting. After discovering all these issues I canceled my final payment check and sent them an email asking to discuss the issues and to some kind of resolution. Luke then called me the next day to discuss. It became apparent on this call that Luke, the owner, is very disconnected from the wrench side of the business and only does the tuning as he had no idea of any of the issues that came up along the 29 weeks. He did admit that they were over booked for the summer. So is that an excuse to take all the time they want and still charge the same amount in the end? After a short back and forth that was going nowhere he let me know he was going to talk with the tech that did my car and get back to me in two days. I did not hear back from him and they simply just attempted to charge my debt card $1500. When that got declined they then tried $900, again declined and tried $450 which went through. With that at this point I decided to cut all ties because of this. A few days later I got a letter from their lawyer stating they were going to sue me for the full amount and pursue charges for two other crimes they claimed I committed. A mechanics lean and for writing a bad check, both of which dont apply in this case. Scare tactics. After a few letters back and forth I settled with them but was still very unhappy with the outcome. Use at your own risk. Caveat emptor.

One should expect to land at least 50 fish a day in a world class fishery like Door County when the smallmouth bass are in season! My brother's Southern Belle wife from Atlanta had never landed a fish in her life and in just 3.5 hours we landed 40 smallmouth bass and my brother's wife even landed a 3.5 lb. bass on her own. When my brother brought his son to fish once again we landed 40 fish in just 4 hours. Absolutely amazing. This was again near the end of August and we were dropshotting! My best outing with Captain Sid is 85 fish in 6 hours in a remote windswept bay on May 9, 2022. We landed three 21 inch plus In-Fisherman Angler Award bass, a 40 inch northern pike and a 38 inch northern pike. The action was a fish on almost every cast!!! This exhilirating trip tied with my best outing of 101 smallmouth bass on a Memorial Day weekend around 2000 with Guide Paul Prorok who finished 2nd in the Sturgeon Bay Bass Open in the late 90's (won $25,000) in waders! My biggest fish appeared on the front cover of Midwest Outdoors and also in In-Fisherman magazine. Captain Sid's boat is immaculate, and he has all the latest electronics including livescope!!! Captain Sid is truly a premiere world class guide of upper Door County for bass, and he boast lots of happy out-of-state repeat customers!! Captain Sid has a great bedside manner and will coach you on your technique. He also knows how to put you on the fish bite and also is always ready to net your trophy bass. On a scale from 1 to 10, Captain Sid is a 100!!! I typically book Captain Sid for 8 awesome bass trips a season, but I just booked him with two more eye watering events in late April due to the extremely hot prespawn smallmouth bass bite in a Door County remote bay. A fisherman just landed four 6 lb.+ bass on Easter Sunday afternoon starting at 3 p.m. with his wife at the remote site!!!!

They have completely rebuilt the fire tower adding an accessible ramp. While we are able to climb stairs, we enjoyed the ramp a great deal. I'm not a huge fan of open stairs and found this wide ramp that is intended for both wheelchair users and walkers to be a very pleasant way to reach the viewing platform and return to ground level. The view from the top is amazing on a clear day. We also walked part of the sunset bike trail as an out and back which was lovely. We started at the beach, headed toward the lighthouse and continued on to the bluffs/cliffs before turning around. It was about 6 miles round trip and had lots of wildflowers and beaches along the way. This is a great trail for anyone who doesn't want to navigate a lot of tree roots or rocks. Other updates: The lighthouse is being refurbished and is scheduled to reopen later in June 2026. There are now food trucks near the beach if you don't feel like bringing a picnic lunch!

To access the park, you have to pay a vehicle admission pass at the visitor center. Daily pass for out-of-state plates is $16. The rates are different for Wisconsin plates and senior citizens. 12-month pass is available as well. The small gift shop in the visitor center has magnets, stickers, paper weights, shirts, etc. There are also comfort rooms inside. It was raining when we visited. The rain stopped for a bit and we were able to see Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. We weren't able to go in the lighthouse because it was still early and not yet open. It was okay from the outside. We also went to see the Eagle Tower. Since it was raining and dark clouds were all over, we did not see the nice view that this spot is known for.
