Best Zipline in Door County By Far!…read more I was surprisingly impressed with the size of the zipline Lakeshore Adventures offers in Door County. In previous years I had done zipline tours in Rowleys Bay and at the Fun Park, which were good but nothing that I've been eager to go back for. When I heard Lakeshore Adventures was offering a new zipline in Door County, I quickly investigated the size in comparison to the others. Realizing that this was much taller and longer than any of the others, I decided to give ziplining in Door County another try with my girlfriend, who is afraid of heights, and we are both sure glad we did! :) The view from the top of the tower was beautiful. You could see moonlight bay and the surrounding forest in all directions. Even though I had been climbing and ziplining many times previously, my heart was still pounding. Being a gentleman, I let my girlfriend go first. She was nervous to initially step off the platform, but the guide reassured her confidence in the equipment and she zipped down the first line grasping tightly to the lanyard. Conquering this fear was impressive alone, but she zipped through the rest of the course hands free showing off her "starfish" and "cannonball" poses that the guides had showed us. When we zipped to tree to tree over the pond and eventually to the ground I was surprised by all the greenery in the forest and was reminded of my home back in the Pacific Northwest. Last, but not least was the dual zipline which was sweeeet! This was the fastest line and longest. Over 600 feet. My girlfriend and I were able to go side by side simultaneously on two separate lines. Needless to say I let her win, but she still brags about it. :) Also a plus, I don't think I saw a single mosquito when I usually get eaten alive.

We pre-booked the Clear Bottom Kayak Shipwreck Tour with Lakeshore Adventures in Baileys Harbor, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our group was wonderfully small -- just my husband and me, another couple and our guide. We chose individual kayaks, which I personally prefer, and all the equipment and life vests were provided. Our guide was awesome! Unfortunately, I didn't write down her name, but she was friendly, knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history about the shipwrecks beneath Lake Michigan. There's something really cool about paddling out onto Lake Michigan in a clear-bottom kayak and looking for shipwrecks beneath you. You get some exercise, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and learn a little Door County history along the way. Lakeshore Adventures offers several different kayak tours, but we're really glad we chose the shipwreck tour. I definitely recommend booking ahead, bringing some water and getting out there for a little Door County adventure!

The beach was very crowded with 100+ people but we were told it was due to a "quiet day" at the beach. The operating hours on the website were not updated - and no disclaimer posted - and no one answered the phones when we called to confirm times. We drove all the way over to Sister Bay and could have stayed to rent one at Nicolet Beach in Peninsula State park, or pursued another activity had we known this company didn't want our business, Beware of planning to rent from this company as they operate on their own time with disregard to customer, rather than abide by their own posted operating hours. Very disappointed in this behavior that has resulted in lost customers.

During our recent trip to Door County, WI we headed over to the Egg Harbor Fun Park to zip with Gravity Trails. I have to be honest with you when we first arrived I was a little bummed. I only saw two poles and thought we were just zipping from one to the other. You know the saying "Never judge a book by it's cover" that holds true for zip lines too. The four of us put on our gear and awaited instructions. See the slats going up to the platform everyone is standing on? We got there by climbing up a rock wall! It wasn't bad at all and I have to say it was a really cool way to start the course. I offered to go first out of our group of 4. There were 4 zip lines and they were each a little different. I did try jumping and off course going across with out holding on. This was not my first time so I started out by letting go. Actually I also did that on my first time too. I have been zip lining with others who were nervous though and I just want to reassure you that our guides were amazing! They explained everything to us and reassured us. One of us didn't make it all the way over and zipped back to the center. They told us that there's usually one in every group. Hey, it makes for a great story and great pics! As soon as it happened Ben readjusted and headed out on his rescue mission. The upper arm strength was incredible. I mean I would have to tell you "Hang on and I'll go get someone." Our kids went through a couple of buckets of sand and had a blast. They make sure that everyone finds at least a few of the extra special gems too. My 9 year old was thrilled to discover a couple of arrowheads in his bucket! They have zip lining, go carts, batting cages, arcade games as well so there's something for everyone to enjoy. They were flexible in working with us to put together a trip that fit our time constraints. They were even good enough to schedule picture-perfect weather for our day although I'm not sure how they did that. They were all set when we arrived, gave a quick safety talk, and took a group picture before we headed onto the water. The guides were great with those in our group that were apprehensive about kayaking while giving our experienced paddlers the freedom to fully enjoy the river while still making sure the young people were in safe water. Our experienced paddlers were the ones who set the pace for our trip with the guides pointing out things of interest on the shoreline (or the eagles that popped up several times overhead). With the speed of the river that day (it does vary) and the amount of paddling we did, we arrived at our take-out point at just the right time where I bus awaited us. We stayed at the Peshtigo outpost, but did activities at both Peshtigo and Menominee outpost. At the Peshtigo outpost, there are camping facilities for any level of camper. Tenting to cabin with bathroom and kitchen. Let me start with the booking... they were so fantastic at setting up a great itinerary for us for our short stay! The zipline was awesome, and the views were beautiful! We did the rafting at Peshtigo in single person rafts and it could not have been more fun and picturesque! The alpine tower was tricky for me, but not for the rest of my group, they soared through it! EVERY SINGLE guide we had was so friendly and so kind! We can't wait to come back and stay longer!
