this was a great attraction and I am 100 percent outing it in my top five favorite places. And my condolences to those miners.

Being in the mine adds a lot to the experience... you're seeing and feeling what the miners felt... except they didn't have the lights like you'll have. I'll also say that our mine tour guide, a student in the Geology program at Michigan Tech. was one of the best tour guides I've ever had for any tour. He is not only passionate and knowledgable about Geology, he knew so much detail about the Quincy mine on really every level, as well as the experiences and way of life of the miners themselves. I was floored by not only all he learned in order to be as knowledgable as he is, but also how much it's clear that he loves everything about the mine and miners... all while being a student with this as only a summer job. I was excited to take this tour. It was much, much more than I anticipated. If you go, bring warm clothing... I was in shorts and a thin long-sleeved shirt with a t-shirt underneath. That was NOT enough. Dress like it's a brisk winter day.

Then when they were forced to use single person drills, they felt isolated and feared for their safety. Yesterday when our LARGE Family group went, a couple of our littles make noise when our guide was talking. He asked that the children be taken outside. The children and their mothers were isolated from the group, outside alone at the bottom of a very steep hill, for over an hour. No one to keep them safe if an animal came out of the bushes, no bathroom or water. There was another child and its parents that were asked to leave the tour also. When the mothers called the front desk to ask about sending someone down to bring them back up, they said they don't do that. Talk about feeling unsafe and isolated

Our boat was captained by Brian and his deck hand/entertainment of the night was Ben; both very professional and got us out and back in safely. Ben was fantastic on the acoustic guitar, excellent voice and sense of humor. It was a small group when we went but he still worked the crowd. The boat was clean and I appreciated that they had binoculars available in each bench seat so you could take advantage of seeing the sights. Ben also does some of the scenic tours so he threw in a few nuggets of info about the area in between songs but overall the focus was on the music and enjoying the views. Sunset was perfect! Would highly recommend.

It was a 1.5 hour interesting and enlightening guided tour highlighting elegant, historic, and hidden Cottage Row in the town of Gibraltar, the Strawberry Islands, and the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. The all-in cost for us 2 seniors was $91.79. We boarded their boat named Quo Vadis and it has a capacity of 58 we were told. Betsy was our engaging and informative tour guide and she was a great local narrator and guide having been raised on nearby Chambers Island. From a nature and wildlife standpoint, we saw double-crested cormorants, white pelicans, a bald eagle, and a big eagle's nest along the way. Betsy added a lot of local color and flavor and trivia to the talk and it was just what I enjoyed hearing to gain more insight into this charming area. Big thumbs up and we would take another of their tours if we were up here at the right time and conditions again.
