Perfectly NOT perfect but that is exactly why we love it. Taking into consideration where we are here in Snead's Ferry, the Red Pepper is that ideal, small town, Asian style take-out option. The menu is widely diverse with all the standard favorites and the portions are great and very generous. The service is always on and straight forward. Staff smile, greet, thank you for choosing them, and despite always having 5-7 orders to fill, never take longer to get out yours. The food itself is good. They don't skip on any proteins and the veggies are cooked nicely with good seasonings. One of my favorite choice options offered is the great side items. They can really round out a meal if you are feeling more than what just one dish can give. And again, the portion sizes are great to leave enough for leftovers....and is a kitchen fridge ever complete without some Chinese leftovers filling up a shelf lol. There's not a ton of Chinese options (or food options in general) where I live, so finding somewhere that serves tasty food at a good price is always a steal. Whenever I ask my family if they want Chinese food, someone always asks if I'm going to Red Pepper. I usually say no because I've never been there and the family at Golden China know me. I can't remember what made me decide to go somewhere different, but I think I just liked the idea of having a choice. I called in the order over the phone, the usual: fried chicken wings for myself and my mother, hers with shrimp fried rice and mine with pork fried rice. Two eggrolls, two spring rolls, and some bbq ribs for the next day. Also got my cousin a shrimp fried rice. The folks inside are really nice! Very pleasant and welcoming. It's not extremely big inside, but it felt cozy. The prices are a little higher than Golden China, but the taste, quality, and quantity of the food made up for it. I still frequent Golden China, but Red Pepper is a high-quality alternative for whenever I'm feeling fancy. read more

Food was actually pretty decent compared to most Chinese restaurants around the area my plate cost 11.50 chicken was a little bland and slightly over cooked but overall decent the lo mein also lacked a little flavor but still worth the money the restaurant is very small and compact with only a few tables to sit at if you do choose to eat inside overall decent place will be returning. read more

I have been an excellent customer for six years (here in Sneads Ferry we don't have real choices), & tonight an item was missing from my order. I called to get credit on my credit card, as it was too far to drive again to pick up one item. However, I was refused a credit on my card. Everyone makes mistakes, but refusing credit for a missing item is not a good idea. To be fair, after talking to 2 different people, & repeating my story to folks who had a difficult time understanding me, I was offered credit on my next order. I did not want to do that because I don't want to have to remember to ask for the credit, & I don't want to have to tell my story again & again in an attempt to get a sometime-in-the-future small credit. read more

I love the wonton soup and all of the combinations I have ordered were very good Update 2/15/2019----- ordered my usual but this time there was BUGS in my soup more then 1. I called the restaurant and went back in with 2 bug carcasses in tow and guess what they tried to tell me they weren't bugs!! Red Pepper is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Snead's Ferry as opposed to the other one. I've been here twice but reserved my review until I had the chance to really experience it. Thus far I've experienced nothing but awesome service and they actually listen to you when you order instead of speaking over you and getting the order wrong. There certainly a variety of dishes to chose from and beverages are available in bottle Sunkist , Diet Coke, coke, sun drop , sprite, Dr Pepper , water, Monster and tea. They do have a bathroom available as well a small area to eat perhaps home 8 people inside to eat in. Sadly they do not deliver which is a total bummer The prices are reasonable and the food is cooked rather quickly without a long wait for example my wait today was about 15 mins. I'll be honest, it took me a while to come into Red Pepper because I thought the restaurant had been closed: the signage outside is pretty old and looks like it hasn't been renovated in sometime. It wasn't until I saw some folks coming in and out that I realized that RP was indeed opened. So stoked that I went in. The food is very good, and the staff super friendly and helpful. I'm not sure where the name "Red Pepper" came from, but they have a picture of a Red Pepper doing a bicycle kick with a soccer ball on their menus. It really got me thinking; what the hell is a chili pepper doing kicking a soccer ball? I mean, has he been a long time soccer player and he was just in the middle of a tournament? Best Chinese food between Wilmington and Jacksonville hands down. The soups are great. Egg drop and spicy are always good. The eff foo young is great. You know it's a good spot when the people cooking don't speak English. For what's its worth you won't be disappointed and it's much cheaper than the tourist traps in the area. read more

This is a Chinese restaurant, not a Mexican one like the title implies. I attempted to change it, but have yet to see it come up at Chinese. It's your typical Chinese restaurant with probably about 4 tables in the seating area, and they specialize in take-out. We especially enjoy their steamed entree's like the steamed chicken and broccoli. They serve the sauce on the side so that you can add as little or as much as you please. All of their food is pretty tasty, and we love their hot and sour soup. It's in the same complex as Domino's and Andy's on Hwy 210. read more
