Amazing rice and best sesame sauce I've had in Jacksonville. They give big portions. I usually get sesame chicken but last time I got general tsos chicken and they are both super scrumptious. They have been cutting back on the portion sizes while continuing to charge the same amount for the past 4 months . I consistently order from them every Friday night and have recently stoped ordering from them because of this new practice of theirs. Delicious with large portions! I arrived at the restaurant exactly 25 minutes post takeout order, and I did wait another 10 for the food, but it was hot and fresh for me when I arrived home! I got the chicken and scallop hibachi with fried rice, and my husband ordered the steak and chicken hibachi with chicken fried rice. Let me tell you. The chicken is cooked perfectly. It's tender and most, and the scallops and chicken are seasoned just right. There's a medley of veggies mixed in and the rice is plentiful! It could use some sauce, but otherwise it's great. And it came with two sides of yum-yum sauce and two egg rolls without me asking. We also ordered the vegetable lo mein and a quart of wonton soup, and they are both delicious! Highly recommend next time a Chinese craving hits! Also, it's a complete plus the food comes in containers and not cartons. I get to clean and keep them for more storage. :) read more

My first time in the Golden Pot today 3 May 2025. I was expecting full service - to be taken to my table, given a menu, etc. There was no greeting so I chose a table and sat down. Then I looked towards the kitchen an saw a sign "order here". I got up, went to the counter where a young quiet man was standing. I took a menu and tried to decide what I wanted. The menu was beautiful!!! So colorful, lots of food items. To speed things up I ordered a simple shrimp fried rice lunch and iced tea then went back to my table. They called me to the counter to get my food which was packed " to go". I went back to my seat and ate some of the plentiful food. It was hot and delicious!! Probably the best I've ever had! I thought to my self what a fantastic restaurant this would be if they livened it up a little, had a waitress, put some Chinese decor around, maybe a little music, even a radio! 5 stars for the food!! read more

I was craving Chinese food and I didn't want Panda Express so we decided on Golden Pot. We had never been here before. The service was great, the person taking our order was really nice. We ordered the Cheese Wontons and the Lo Mein noodles with beef and all the food was just sooo good. I probably ate my weight in noodles they were so good. The only thing is we decided to dine in and they're probably not used to that, I assume most people take their food to go. They brought our food out on paper plates and to go boxes which we didn't mind at all. We will definitely be coming back! read more

I got an order of sesame shrimp tonight. The food was so bad I was getting sick while I was trying to eat it. It seemed obvious the shrimp weren't fresh and the sauce was kind of glued to the extremely thick batter on the shrimp. The shrimp were deep fried in tons of batter, but still had peeling all over most of them. The only thing I ate that was halfway decent was the fortune cookie. I hate leaving bad reviews, but in this world, with the prices of everything, I expect to at least have a decent, tasty meal. There's simply no excuse in this. My wife got some tofu stuff and seemed to like it. So, I guess it wasn't completely bad. I'll never spend another penny there though. read more

Their lunches come with white or fried rice and a choice of soup, cheese rangoon/wonton, or egg roll. ​​I got fried rice and hot & sour soup. The fried rice was great and the soup was almost perfect. The soup was a lil thicker consistency than I like it to be but I rather that than it be a watery consistency. The soup was a bit flavored down but I'm pretty picky with my hot & sour soup. We ordered vegetable lo mei and orange peel chicken (wasn't spicy). The food was delicious and portion size was great! My chicken was perfectly crunchy with a good coating of sauce. My fried rice was perfect--not dry at all--. The lo mei was great with crunchy veggies and good amount of noodles --filled the container/not dry--. However, they appeared to be understaffed and the only two people working were killing it. 5 stars for the food. The Gen Tso's is the best I've had in the area, and the portions are very generous.
