I have used two Red Oxx bags every other day, alternating. I have two other Red Oxx bags I use for travel. This is my go-to brand. I mentioned earlier it is Cordura nylon, not ballistic nylon, for most of the pieces. That has not been a problem. The Air Boss has logged a hundred flights and been in use for more than a decade. It shows minor scuffing. Repairs are done cheerfully, at reasonable cost. Really this is a company I am pleased to patronize. I have zero complaints. I've been using their Air Boss going on nine years and to this day, it still looks and functions like new. I also bought two compression straps last year and this makes the Air Boss even sleeker and slimmer when packed with a suit or two for business trips. I also have their Sunchaser for quick two to three day trips by car or plane and this is my go to bag for going as light as possible. I own 2 of their bag, the air boss and the laptop bag, and I would give them 6 stars if one was available. By far the best produced luggage I have ever owned. going on 5 years now, not a single thing has broken, ripped or come off, including zippers, pulls, ties, straps and handles. Their stuff is not expensive if you factor in the fact that you'll never likely have to replace it. Anecdote: I ordered a PR-5 and when it arrived, it seemed smaller than expected. I get a phone call a day or two later from Red Oxx saying they think they sent me the wrong bag, and they will be overnighting me a new one for my trip. Been buying Red Oxx products for years!! Unbelievable how well they hold up and survive through all extremes and conditions. Have used several of their briefcase bags. I needed a new carryon and read awesome reviews on the Air Boss so I took the plunge and purchased one! The bag is awesome. It is incredibly durable and you can fit soooooooo much stuff in the bag- however, this is a problem for me. I pack the bag so full and then it is too heavy for me. So now I use it as a checked bag for travel. I really wish they could some how make it a rolling bag---because if it had wheels it would be perfect for me. Yes, their bags are expensive. And I hate spending money. But after having yet another $39.95 department store special die on its first trip, I decided to take the recommendation of OneBag.com and try Red Oxx. With the lifetime warranty, I figured I'd come out ahead eventually. My Sky Train has been literally around the world with me, more than once, in both checked and carry-on luggage, and aside from a bit of dirt it looks exactly the same as when I bought it 4+ years ago. Among other long adventures, I've been on a 6-week trip to both the northern and southern hemispheres (so, both winter and summer) and fit everything I needed in it. There always seems to be room for just one more thing. I love the bright colors, too - easy to spot on the baggage carousel. Cons: No wheels, so you'll have to carry it. For me this is a plus, meaning it's more durable, lighter (by my measurement, a hair over 3 pounds empty), and roomier. But I wouldn't recommend it for kids, older folks, or anyone else who has issues lifting and carrying - or for people who can't resist overpacking. The shoulder strap holds securely without slipping off, but isn't the most comfortable; the backpack straps are OK, but an added waist strap would be even better. And I've often found myself wanting compression straps for the outside of the bag, to control its bulge (though I see that they just started offering a carry-on that has them). Overall, though, I love this thing so much that I have to stick to five stars. It was absolutely worth the money. I may never buy another suitcase. read more

I travel back and forth to Asia (primarily China) every few weeks and switched a few years ago from the standard wheeled carry-on bag to the Air Boss. And I love it. The way it's compartmentalized it's almost like a backpack but better for business travel. Red Oxx is Awesome! I have flown over 250,000 with my airboss in the last 2 years. The bag still looks like new. The Expedition Series, I think I could put a small car inside the bag. My daughter recently finished a 30 day Red sea diving trip and trek with only one bag. It was the Expedition. now she is mad I want it back. Red Oxx quality is as good as it gets. I love the fact that all of their products are US made and the fact that their owner Jim Markel is a vet is great too. They stand behind their products, no questions asked. I packed one of their smallest bags, and Extra Small Aviator with 4 dress shirts, 4 t-shirts, a couple of polos, a pair of dress pants, 4 pair of sock, 4 pair of boxer briefs and my dope kit for a 5 day business trip to Orlando and had room to spare. I also used Red Oxx packing cubes for the first time on this trip. I have too many bags from my constant pursuit of the perfect bag, and other than the missing d-rings for a shoulder strap, this bag is my favorite go to bag for 5 day business trips. I actually bought the Small Aviator for that trip, but found it to be too big for a 5 day trip. I am admittedly a minimalist so the smaller, lighter weight, the better; but I never sacrifice quality. I have dealt with their customer service a couple of time, always electronically by choice and found them to be responsive and personable. I would love to have the opportunity to visit the in person some day. As for the negative reviews; to each his own. Yes, they are more expensive that a cheap spinner at Walmart; but I would challenge the idea that the Walmart bag is better quality - I know better. Heavy? I would challenge this as well. Their Big Oxx Expedition is the biggest bag they have I believe and it weights in at a hefty 7 pounds; too much for my taste, but not even close to 20 pounds. No wheels? Of course not! Wheels add weight and take up space in your bag. These guys design for adventurers, minimalists and even one-bag, no-check business travelers such as myself. I went to Europe for two weeks with one carry-on bag that even had a tux inside (my wife did the same with her wedding dress) and this would not have been possible with a wheeled suitcase. I needed a new carry on bag for my trips. After being recommended to Red Oxx a couple of times by passengers, I finally checked out the store. I was a little hesitant when I saw their price tags, but I looked at it as more of a long term investment. I settled on the Airborne Carry-on Rucksack. The bags are heavier than most carry on bags; even empty, but the material is thickly woven. My bag has large easy to use zippers and double stitching. It is comfortable to wear and I can fit more than necessary. It has many compartments, both inside and out, which is a great feature for those who like to me more organized while traveling. When I have the time, I take it on day excursions and it has held up great. It is a great backpack and I look forward to using it for many years. read more

I bought the Red Oxx Air Boss 11 years ago and have traveled extensively with it. Over time, the exterior pocket began to be ripped off. (This was due to occasionally overpacking and then wedging it into the tiny overhead compartments of the regional jets). Red Oxx has a lifetime warranty on its products.
