I had a Tesla wall charger installed back in 2016 when I got my first Tesla S (best car I ever owned). Since EVs were still fairly new to the market back then, I went with a local Tesla "approved" electrician to install the Tesla branded charger. After paying a fairly steep price to have it installed, they dutifully installed their company sticker on the inside of the box. Fast forward ten years and a fault occurred in the charger, which should have tripped the breaker. Unfortunately, the "approved installer" did a faulty install with a 100 amp breaker that literally blew out the back of the breaker (see pic) and fried the charger. I called the original electrician, and they obviously did not want to troubleshoot their install or change out the unit, wanting $275 just to eyeball it before any work was done. Enter Mark and Leo from Fixacal, who I used for a main panel replacement. Just as in their previous work, Mark and Lei showed up when they said they would and installed a new Tesla universal charger, while correcting the wiring and breakers to properly protect everything. This tag team showed up with fully equipped trucks meticulously laid out with tools and equipment outlined on the van's walls--very impressive. As an old shop teacher, I was naturally curious about how the work was progressing, and they actually enjoyed showing me how it was going and the failed parts. Most contractors don't want to be bothered with customers asking questions. If I was an apprentice electrician, these are the guys I would want for mentors. As the end of the job, I heard a strange noise from the garage, and it was Mark using a Dyson floor vacuum to leave the garage floor pristine! If you want a job done right the first time with exceptional workmanship, for a very fair price, Fixacal should be your go to. Removed carpet and installed vinyl flooring in a bedroom. Also painted throughout including the door and the hallway bathroom door. Minor misunderstanding about where to hang the curtain rod, but it was quickly resolved. End result was a perfect, quality job. Project 3: two outside utility doors with custom sizes and no vendor to provide a louvered, fiberglass door for the water heater. OC Home Fix made a lot of calls, as did I. John finally found the winning door manufacturer. And OC Home Fix convinced me to let them re-frame one of the doors to a standard 24" wide so I'd never have that problem again. They honored their original price (we went from installing a door slab to re-framing to hang a pre-hung door). The final job was again, perfect! We agreed that after my exterior paint job is complete (different vendor), OC Home Fix will come back to custom fit the door trims for Project 3. It will be a separate cost, but all costs have been reasonable for all projects so far. I highly recommend OC Home Fix. They are honest, reliable, and show pride of ownership in their work.
