GREAT PIZZA! Goody's is a sandwich shop and pizza kitchen…read morethat has the look and feel of a school cafeteria. Don't let that fool you. We were fortunate to stop in during a Christmas road trip to find the school-break empty dining room, decent salads and delicious white sauce Margherita pizza. Even if you end up having to elbow your way to the table, I think you will also enjoy the pizza. If it is too busy, order ahead and take it out. You'll thank me later.

Been coming here for 7+ years and am currently disappointed with employees' inability to say "Hello," or even "Thank you," when the transaction is finished. Definitely noticed both last night when the sandwich starter employee acted like it was a huge bother to make one more sandwich. If you're too tired to make a sandwich or greet a customer maybe it's time for you to take a break. Or a walk around the block. The man who rang me up acted like he couldn't be bothered-he wasn't really paying attention-and there was no "thank you" at the end. Seems like the front line on the "restaurant" side is more concerned about helping customers and staff from the "pub" side. So disappointing.

Branching out from our eatery-dense IF, we find ourselves in Pocatello quite a bit lately. Due to…read morebeing clueless out-of-towners, it seems every time we try a place in "Pokey," we find an outstanding eatery tucked away on some hideaway street. Brunchy fast-serve places compete fiercely in Pokey, and what I've found so far is--that keeps the bar climbing higher. Right at top with the best of the best is 5th Street Bagelry. After a bit of walking from the lot that sits behind, I glimpsed peaceful outdoor seating--like a quiet private room. Took a video. I tried to look through the glass door before going in, so I could steady myself if need be, but I was in the way of the swarms of college students flocking to this place lol. I had to remind myself "I want the experience," before ultimately going in. So, with my crowd sensitivities, I went diving into what I feared to be a mosh pit. The atmosphere was buzzy with many conversations quietly humming, but this packed little lobby flowed like water from a pitcher, with the last in line having their order and headed out the door within just a few minutes. Little hives of people slide inches at a time until, quickly, arriving at the order counter. Remarkably efficient pros working back there. On the far left, one's taking your order while starting it, with two others finishing it--as you're still ordering. Then your hive inchity zips down the counter to the fourth worker, who takes your coffee or drink order, and rings you up. So a line, do expect, but it will move quickly. The gracious service is STERLING, which makes the process painless--one even took menu pics for me. There were older people there too, but they started to show after the first wave of students lol. Seems the city has it figured out. The place gets busy, and for good reason, but the crowd thinned out... several times lol. Most had taken their food to go. Despite the super comfy inside seating, we wanted to kick back in the serenity of the outdoor scene. We grabbed our food and coffee before happily scuttling outside to the vine-drenched lattice fencing. Only a few, including us, occupied it--so there's always that if you need it. Okay, for me--their coffee is a little strange. I'm used to dark bold coffee with little to no notes in it. I prefer a strong dark roast, add a shot for a red eye. They have French roast, which suits the bill, but theirs had some fruity notes that caused my face to contort with a life of its own before my brain caught up. It actually isn't bad--pretty good--it just took me a second to get used to it. The espresso shot was swirly and rich like dark smoke and absolutely delicious--Loved it! My other half really liked her coffee too, and was quite disappointed when she went in for a refill, and they had run out while brewing fresh pots. (Their coffee varieties are brewed into large dispensers, with espresso drawn per order.) I guess the process takes a little bit. The brownie I got with my breakfast had a fluffy and sweet white frost wisped across a moist & creamy fudge cake--Nom!! No!--I didn't eat my dessert first lol. You choose from the menu one of their signature bagel sandwiches, or like most places, you can "pluck and plug" what you want. Either way, you always choose your bagel (see the pics for choices). I went with slightly customizing one of their signatures. Putting it on a jalapeno cheese bagel, and switching out the ham for sausage, I got: --la joya de la corona--. The Huevos Bagel Breakfast Sandwich is the ABSOLUTE BEST jalapeno cheese bagel sandwich I've ever had in my life! Lightly crisped ridges at the jalapeno slices tease just before sinking into a perfectly chewy bagel. It wafts a cheesy jalapeno flavor, not nip, all throughout your senses. The sausage & egg were above par for pre-prepped items--very tasty. Then topped by the kingmaker, pepper jack cheese & green chile. I think I need a nap--faint. Going to Pokey?-- Must try!

I've been to this location and their second in Chubbuck, both homemade fire…read more A vast variety of bagels to suit your tastes, each one handcrafted for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Check out some of the unique sides like their pasta salads, an extra carby complement. Service is fast, accurate, and polite. Both locations offer inside seating, although the original spot is larger for lingering. Great spot near the college on 5th Ave

Nel's has best meat and awesome Italian sausage and Bratwursts and also they run great deals on chicken products from time to time. Another good reasons to give them a try are the ambiance, the spirit and the attitude. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, "Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care". One employee, I believe her name is Caroline, goes above and beyond in providing awesome customer service. You can be sure your shopping needs will be met and questions will get answered. She is the one eager to walk the extra mile and will even help you load your vehicle. She certainly deserves a raise. As far as prices go I'd say they are not too much above everyone else to drive across town and to settle for mediocre customer service. I mean I knew few people who would spend extra 30 minutes to save extra $0.30, but, assuming time also has value it is not worth the hassle. Plus corporate entities have means to support themselves no matter what and by shopping at Nel' s you contribute to the success of an awesome locally owned store.
