I don't know how to cover all the amazing benefits I've received through Red Moon Wellness. For my next pregnancy (should we be so lucky and inclined), I plan to spend less on a (out-of-network) doctor and more on self care throughout the entire pregnancy, especially Red Moon's offerings. I focused on this from about 34 weeks on (am approaching 39 weeks now) and have experienced so much improved feeling and health as a result, allowing me to focus mentally on the big changes coming ahead instead of worrying about aches, pains and the like. --The 2-day childbirth class taught by Lena is the best thing I can recommend to any pregnant person or couple. Empowering, informative, balanced--the things my husband and I learned have made us very confident and knowledgeable as we approach our baby's birth, and have transformed how we're able to communicate with our doctor about our birth preferences and why we have them. --Kelly is a wonderful LMT who not only wipes away anxiety with her prenatal massages, I also credit her with turning my baby when she was transverse! I went in at 34 weeks with this primary goal in mind, and the next day at my scan baby was head down. She has also helped me with severe pubic symphysis dysfunction pain, which alongside with chiropractic care and prenatal yoga, has become 70-80% improved - a much welcome relief. From 34 weeks on I have been going for weekly prenatal 60-minute massages and I highly recommend this, I only wish I'd started sooner! I feel total trust in her hands. --I'm looking forward to the labor-encouraging massages I have booked for weeks 39, 40 and 41 (if needed!) with Lena. Make sure to book Lena's services a couple months in advance. Red Moon is a place that truly cares about the wellbeing and health of the people in its care. I've been going to Red Moon Wellness for about 2 months to see Selina for massage therapy, and I highly recommend her! I have noticed positive results with regular visits (ideally every week, when my schedule allows). Selina pays attention to any problem areas I mention each time, and definitely tailors each session according to my consults. This morning I added CBD oil to my treatment for a knot on my upper back. As soon as my massage was done I could feel the relief, I will add that option again in the future! The facility is very clean and comfortable, without being sterile. The staff is super friendly, as well. Currently everyone still wears masks, and your temperature is taken before entering. I first learned of this Red Moon from another mom during prenatal yoga over at Bend & Bloom. So I booked a prenatal massage with 38 weeks and 5 days. Carolina was my therapist and she was amazing! I went in with pelvic pain, along with pain in my hip through my right foot as well as some knots in my shoulder. I left feeling so much lighter and overall relaxed. I've only come during the pandemic but I feel safe coming here because they limit overlap with other guests, conduct COVID19 screenings, and the place itself is pristine and practice COVID19 precautions (mask compliance, social distancing, hand sanitizer. I appreciate you need to take your shoes off before you come in!). The massage room was comfortable and the perfect temperature. The online scheduler is super easy to use. I had my session with Tippy who was wonderful. She took time to check in with me and asked for specific requests, which she artfully respected. (Thank you!) Good to know: 1) they book at least 1-2 weeks in advance, particularly weekend times. When I called to make an appointment, they could not have been nicer or more accommodating about my somewhat unusual predicament. I had a great prenatal massage at 39 weeks at Red Moon. It's really awesome to go somewhere where everyone has expertise working with pregnant bodies and I don't have to feel worried that they'll either hold back too much or do something dangerous! It was a relief and it felt great. I was also REALLY happy to see that they make an effort to be welcoming and inclusive of all pregnant people and new parents (not only women) by asking about gender pronouns on their paperwork, rather than making assumptions, and by posting a trans flag on their front door! I'm new to the neighborhood and was very excited to schedule my first massage appointment. The day before my scheduled appointment, I received a text from the company asking if I was willing to move my appointment up by an hour (to accommodate their scheduling needs). At the time I was available so I agreed to the change as a courtesy. On the day of the appointment, I had an unexpected work meeting come up and was no longer able to make it at the updated time. I called as soon as this happened and asked if they would be willing to reschedule my appointment to another date/time. The manager was extremely rude and short with me and made no effort to try and work with me to accommodate the request. All she kept saying was "This is our policy" and I am now going to be charged the full price of the massage ($135) and will have received no services at all from this business. I am shocked and disappointed in this total lack of customer service, especially when I was trying to help them in the first place by adjusting my appointment time. I will not be making another attempt to spend money here in the future and would advise against anyone else supporting this business. read more

Great massage! Clean office - they have you remove shoes before entry, there's lots of sanitizing stations and the bathroom is spotless. COVID screening before arrival and proper precautions during services. And the massage was fantastic! This place was recommended for a good prenatal massage by my doctor and she specified two masseuses that I was unable to get an appointment with - ended up getting a massage from Richard and I think it was a great fit - I will definitely be booking another appointment with him! I work out a lot, and he totally understood the needs of my muscles... not to mention attention to prenatal specifics. Before I was pregnant, my go-to was would have been the cheaper massages at the nail salons and Chinese medicine places... and I have to say, I still appreciate the discount you get if you sacrifice the spa atmosphere. So, the price wasn't outrageous at Red Moon - but it was pricey - and you get what you pay for! Worth it! read more

I can't say enough about Red Moon Wellness's Childbirth Education course. The word I keep using when I tell friends about it is "transformative." It's a truly special two-day experience (in a lovely space at Bend & Bloom yoga studio). Lena is remarkable at combining her extensive experience as a doula and seemingly endless knowledge of pregnancy/labor/delivery with warmth, humor, and practicality. She easily created a comfortable, trusting environment among a pretty diverse group of parents-to-be. And she's also just a great teacher - she is down on the students' level on a yoga ball or moving around, dynamic and accessible at the same time. The course is incredibly educational, but also has a vibe of ... getting experience-based advice from a trusted woman in the community over tea. I do want to add that while I was open to a holistic childbirth class, I might not have selected one on my own. Based only on my own anxieties, I came in with some concerns about being overwhelmed by some kind of anti-scientific bias or lectured for planning a hospital birth. It was NOTHING like that. In fact, I think it's the perfect environment for couples where one partner might not be quite as on board yet with a more natural approach to childbirth. Lena is respectful of choice and where everyone is coming from. I felt like I was learning about our options rather than being lectured on making one choice over another. It's the first time I've seen or heard advice for combining natural/holistic childbirth techniques with a hospital birth environment in a way that made so much sense. As a result, I left with a completely different mindset from the one I had when I started. So many things I didn't understand before started to make sense, and my partner and I both feel we now have a much better understanding of what to expect in the process of labor and delivery. I could go on and on ... clearly. Bottom line: childbirth class was amazing. I'm so grateful and am now excited for the next part (breastfeeding and newborn care). read more
