The menu is meat centric and has lots of South African flavored options but there are vegetarian choices. Service is really good and the beer is cold and refreshing. The dessert menu is a MUST read - with over 10 options of ever increasing yummiest (so save room!). The restaurant is split between dinner tables and traditional pub tables so you could "just" pop in for a drink (but with the quality of food on offer - why would you lol). The outside area has a kids playground and plenty of tables for when the sun shines.

We arrived with our dog and although they don't allow her in the actual restaurant, we were able to sit in the bar area and order food from there. It was a very busy day, yet the bar staff served us quickly and even had the chance for a friendly chat with us. We ordered biltong (dry-cured meat) and boerewors (a type of sausage) as starters and then I had the minced Rump burger, whereas my other half ordered the chicken roulade. All of the items were quite tasty and I do applaud the management on that. Nevertheless, I didn't really like the atmosphere at the Percy Arms. To me, it was really too "done up" - it didn't feel real in there...I didn't feel comfortable. The pub looks quite old from the outside, but the inside doesn't reflect this at all.

The service was just as impressive: the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made you feel welcome without hovering. The ambiance is exactly what you want from a countryside pub -- warm, relaxed, and beautifully kept, with a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Altogether a really lovely place to enjoy a meal.

A great introduction to what is yet to come We went for the Ham Hock Croquette & Crispy Baby Artichokes. Both wonderful, Croquette is more filling and a bigger portion than the Artichokes but both are worth trying. 2 of us went for the Rib of Beef: perfectly cooked, great seasoning and fantastic sauce, the beef was melting on our tongues. The cod was beautifully cooked, and extremely well presented. We didn't go for desserts but they were looking good as they were passing by. Wine list Good selection by the glass (4 white, 2 rose, 4 red and 2 sparking) Bottle of champagne from £40 to £60 with a great sparkling wine at £ 25. 11 bottles of white wine from £18.50 to £75.00 from a variety of countries 4 rose, from £ 19.50 to £34.50 13 red from £18.50 to £78.50 We went for the Rustenberg 2012 from South Africa for £ 36.50, which was wonderful. Ambiance It's a wonderful local pub with a touch of high scale dinning experience, much needed locally. Own by passionate couple , who live near by, it's a great story about saving a local pub and keeping a village with his heart.
