New tradition for NYE has been established! We had the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, eggplant with tofu, vegetable chow mien, vegetable fried rice, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. Everything was so good! Only disappointment was that they couldn't not accommodate my son's egg allergy with the side of fried rice that comes with the entree - so we had to order a full order (vegetable fried rice without egg) for him to be able to eat rice. A friend wanted to try this place out and it's closer to home so we went. They have variety of lunch specials until 3pm. Comes with egg flower or hot and sour soup with an egg roil served with white or fried rice. We ordered mushroom chicken and Mongolian beef. Both dishes were tasty. The Mongolian beef was done right, with sliced yellow onion and green onion! A bit skimpy on the green onion but the taste was just right. The mushrooms chicken was also great with plenty of chopped garlic and the chicken breast pieces were tender. Service was quick and the records are just your ordinary place to dine. This was my first time here, and I had a great experience. The interior was nice, the customer service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. Be sure to ask for the homemade chili oil, it's definitely worth it. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, which was delicious and perfectly crispy, and the combination fried rice, which came in generous portions and tasted great. It was good, it was like an old-school Chinese restaurant. I have to say, though it was quite dirty. I did not notice a letter on the door so I can't tell you how clean it was by the critics. But I did notice that they needed to clean the restaurant pretty badly and my teapot even came dirty. I had to return it. The place had one occupied table when we arrived and it's look just like a typical Asian restaurant with plenty booths and tables. We got orange chicken, fish with black bean sauce and shrimp fried rice. The lunch special set comes with your choice of white rice, brown or egg fried rice and a fried egg roll. I came with a couple of girlfriends to the Red Lantern for dinner, there is both a serve-it-yourself bar in another room behind the entrance room for their unlimited soup and condiments, and there is a nice wait staff that serves you whatever dishes that you have ordered from the menu. There is plenty of parking in a public lot behind the restaurant. The food tastes great, the price is reasonable, and there is space to bring a group of friends located in a second room behind the first entrance space. I liked the ultra manga-like decor on the wall. I would come here again and bring my family next time for a meal! read more

8/22/25 We had a to go order that totaled about $103.00. We ordered several items as everybody wanted something different. My portion was Pork fried rice and shrimp with lobster sauce. These 2 items were very bad. Surprised as I typically think of this restaurant as pretty good. The pork fried rice had no flavor at all as if the soy sauce and other ingredients were missing and instead of small thinly sliced pork there was large pork pieces that were slimy. The shrimp with lobster sauce was like water and no consistency and the shrimp was precooked and simply bad. My other family members didn't really complain much but I don't know what happend to this place, but I won't be going back. read more

I had a lunch special here today and the fried rice tasted old as some of the grains of rice were hard. The fried rice also doesn't have any vegetables let alone meat. The entree had a good sauce but was 90% onions and green peppers, 7% unidentifiable stuff, and 3% meat. Red Lantern is a gem in Glendora! Solid Cantonese/Chinese food here. We have ordered from here numerous times! This is our go to restaurant when the kids are craving Chinese food. Walnut shrimp is delicious. Their chow fun noodles are cooked perfectly. The barbecue pork fried rice has a ton of meat in it! The salt and pepper pork chop is so good, even the next day. We just recently tried their wonton soup when we were all trying to get over a cold. The flavor is mild, but it is packed with vegetables and meat! Just add some heat and it's the perfect feel better soup. My husband usually gets sleepy when there is too much MSG in food. He's actually still awake 30 minutes after eating. Which tells me they probably do not put a lot of MSG in their food. After writing this, now I'm craving their soup again! read more

Located in the the half vacant plaza with the old Sports Chalet and a handful of other restaurants. They have dine in and It was pretty busy for Sunday evening. I ordered for pick up over the phone. Yelp shows an online ordering platform, but it gave me an error that it wasn't open til 6:30pm even though the restaurant was open. We got 5 dishes and it came with white rice. Mongolian beef- good Kung pao tofu- very good, but the sauce was a little too thick. Jalapeño chicken- good flavor but the jalapeños and onions were super undercooked. Szechuan eggplant- good but a lot of oil. Pan fried crispy noodles with chicken- good. Overall very happy with our meal that was ready in 25 mins and packed up very neatly. read more
