Appalling, abusive, customer service from Robert the owner/MD. I reported that my high spec refurbished Mac Book Pro I bought from them in Oct last year had failed, at 9.30am when they opened. Due to being my workhorse for my business I requested that it be collected the same day with Adam at Redhouse. I was assured that I would get a call back in 10 minutes. I had to chase at 2.45pm. Adam advised 'sorry busy' won't be collected until the next day. I politely stated, 'that's bloody frustrating as I could have arranged it myself'.
I then get a call back from Robert rudely stating that 'am I abusing his staff!?'. He then lectured me for 5 minutes on behaviour and at no point would he listen nor apologise for the issue caused.
I then had to pay a same day courier £130 to get it there that day. I called them to advise this. I then get another abrupt call from Robert stating 'are you going to apologise?' I've had my own retail business for 16 years and never known anything like this. If I treated my customer base with this attitude I would not have a business.
Robert did kindly stay until 7pm to wait for the delayed courier. That's where the kindness ended. Next day I was then advised I had mistreated my Mac book as I had too many applications open and too many items on my desktop. To be concise, I had open, Chrome (approx x12 tabs), Safari (approx x10 tabs) and Spotify plus approx 20 grabs on my desk top. Plus Spotify. I have had Mac's for decades now and always used them the same way. My last Mac Book lasted 10 years until the hinge failed and that was a much lower spec machine.
I was then advised, it's a software issue and not covered by our warranty and we are doing you a huge favour by not charging you our full hourly rate. I then paid £130 for this and to get it next day back to my office.
I then get an email from Robert stating that the SSD hard drive had locked down again and they were sending it to Apple for inspection. I replied, grateful for the update and advised that it has been glitchy/crashing weekly since I bought it. I received no reply to this.
I chased today for an update and again, got an abusive Robert stating 'I'm emailing you' I said very politely, 'can you please inform me of what the email says?'. He then went into another rant that I am unreasonable and it's my fault it is broken and his warranty will not cover it and he is sending it back. I finished the conversation that I will therefore have to take this to court.
This is the 3rd machine I have bought from Red House computers and the last. Absolutely appalled at Robert's awful insulting attitude.
In future, I'll pay the extra money and buy brand new from Apple. read more
