I was struggling to find a reasonable ride to and from Shelton CT to La Guardia airport. I read reviews for several companies and was a bit disheartened when reading Red Dot Review, but I took a chance. I had a really great experience both ways. When I called the office to make a reservation and also when I called for a pick up, the agents were both extremely friendly, courteous and personable. When I arrived at my pick up location, I arrive quite a bit before my pick up time, but the driver was already there, waiting for me. He had 1 other pickup and we arrived at the airport an hour before I had anticipated, based on the ETA on the reservation app. The driver was extremely courteous and friendly. Upon my return it did not take more than 15 minutes for my ride to pick me up at the airport. Again, I was picked up by another extremely courteous and friendly driver, and I was back at my car in Trumbull in record time. I will definitely use Red Dot again, when I need shuttle transportation. It was economical, efficient and very enjoyable. Thanks Red Dot!! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS (photo proof) Flight delayed getting into JFK due to weather. Boarding was on time but since the pilot flew around severe weather, my flight landed later than it was supposed to. That resulted in me missing the last shuttle (11:15pm) (landed at 12:20). Called the unprofessional dispatch for a refund the next day because me missing the shuttle is "no fault of my own" as they like to say in the confirmation email. Was refused even a partial refund. When asked "what should I have done differently?" Dispatch responded with "I don't know". They knowingly take advantage of people with no care for customer service. This company is straight up robbing their customers. Hypothetically, if you were forced to make a reservation with them, make sure your flight gets in early so you can get on the next shuttle. read more

Red Dot deserves zero stars. Terrible reservation process. They are not clear about pickup locations. I was told I had to go to another pickup location 30 minutes away from where I live. I was willing to give it a try and do that which involved two forms of public transportation. When I was picked up there was another passenger already in the car who was picked up right near where my journey started. I know it sounds crazy but this actually happened. The other problem is that when I made my reservation, the agent sent me a confirmation. On that confirmation it clearly stated that when I arrived at the airport all I had to do was call for a ride. These instructions weren't accurate either. You actually have to make a separate reservation for the second part of a round trip ride. It would have been helpful if the person who made my original reservation just asked me if I needed a round trip or one way ride or bothered to explain this small detail. My only remedy was to wait several hours for a pick up or take a cab ride for the 50 mile ride home. In addition, the pickup times are very limited and insanely early. I arrived at the airport 4 hours before my flight departure. The only positive part of the experience was the driver. He was very nice and was a good driver. Management and dispatch are absolutely worthless. I will never use red dot again. I was concerned when I noticed there was no online option to make a reservation. I should have known better. I Rhonie Henry Clarke missEd RED DOT shuttle to JFK from New Haven Omni Hotel on 12/13/22 due to circumstances out of my control. unfortunately Red Dot shuttle did not have a back up shuttle so I quickly used an Uber service to JFK. Lucky for me RED DOT still billed my card fully $146. for the reservation for 12/13/22 and Red Dot knew clearly they did not provided the service in other words RED DOT billed for services not rendered. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of CT about this Red Dot Shuttle Policy. Proceed at your own risk, you can loose a lot of money. read more

I have been trying to get information on a shuttle to JFK. You can't book online and have to be on a cell phone to call them because there is simply a button to click on that says "Call Now". Tried it with my phone and as soon as you choose 1 to make a reservation, the call disconnects. Also tried to choose 4 for other inquiries, same thing. I have zero confidence on using this service for my airport ride and will be booking with Go Shuttle instead. read more

I had a good experience with Red Dot Shuttle service. I did read the reviews on here before I booked the service but I decided to take a chance. I got my bags, I called and they told me where to be picked up and that it would take 20 minutes. I waited about 20 minutes and the truck showed up. The driver was helpful and polite. We had to pick up a couple at a different terminal and thats when it took awhile because the couple got lost trying to find the shuttle. After we picked them up, I asked the driver how long it would take, he said our hotel was an hour away. And it did take an hour. My drivers' name was Bill, coolest guy ever. If Bill ever reads this, you are great at your job. The only downfall was that my grandparents flew into La Guardia and my grandma said the shuttle wouldn't take them from La Guardia to our hotel, The Westchester Marriott. She tried to do it online and it said they didn't run from La Guardia to Westchester. But besides that, I had a good experience. read more

I have been using RED DOT for over 10 years. Every experience I've had with them is a 5 star experience. The drivers always seem to be waiting for me when I arrive at the departure area for pick up. They are always pleasant and easy to talk with if I have a question. Both the limos and shuttles are immaculate and easy to get in and out of. Usually good, but unfortunately my recent experience hurt... I use Red Dot because of the 45min time frame policy from when you call ready to go, to when you leave the airport. On my recent trip, I called at 7:17-7:18 and departed at 8:13 - let's say 10 minutes later than the 45min policy. Not a huge issue, but it was what happened after that's of concern: When we were picked up, the other passenger had already been waiting for an hour. I asked driver what the company policy was regarding not making it in the 45 min time frame. His initial response was that the original vehicle had broken down - which was a blatant lie. He then said that he'd been caught in traffic - ok, possible, but traffic should be pretty predictable for a company that does this for a living. The driver continued to say that Red Dot isn't his main job (a lie later clarified by the company management), that he didn't know the company policy (again a lie clarified by the operator) and if we had an issue that we should take it up with management. To which I replied that I would call the operator. After saying that I'd call the operator, the driver started getting heated and stated that if I didn't like the service, I could GET OUT. Until that time, the conversation wasn't heated and no one had raised their voices. He stepped on the breaks and started pulling over the van on a random stretch of road, yelling that he's "not going to take sh**t" from me." I told him to continue driving and not start playing games with me. The other passenger can confirm that I never got mad or raised my voice to the driver. Thereafter, I called the operator and reported the incident. The operator apologized and said that he'd make a note and that I could call back on Monday to file a complaint. I spoke in front of the driver, who then complained that he'd get a 1 week suspension. To be honest, I think that's pretty light for arriving late and threatening to kick me out of the car. Later, while driving, the driver called a friend or family member and started complaining about and criticizing me to them - as if to taunt me. I filed a complaint with management the following week. They were basically supportive and apologetic, but never offered any reimbursement. When I raised getting a reimbursement for incident, the attitude changed. They basically said that stuff happens, but asked what I thought was a reasonable reimbursement. I responded that I too ran a service company and if one of my employees threaten to kick a customer out, I would reimburse the entire service. He responded that that was unreasonable and offered me $20 off. In the end, I don't care about the money - it was a business expense - but rather their commitment to service. Money talks, and if $20 was their value, clearly such an incident wasn't a significant service problem for them. To Red Dot: I sincerely recommend that you have clear policies for what happens if the time frame is missed. It will make everything more straight forward for you, your drivers, and the customers. Getting into petty discussions after the fact doesn't do any good for anyone's blood pressure. Back your words by something concrete and it will make you the premier shuttle company. read more

I am writing this review because it occurred to me while trying to find a limo service and reading endless negative reviews that perhaps people were more likely to rate only after a bad experience...because after all, a "great" limo service experience should be by definition quite forgettable and unremarkable. I booked a one-way airport shuttle from Westport, CT to JFK. At $69, it seemed reasonable. The scheduled stated if my pick up time were 10:45am, I'd arrive at JFK at 12:30pm. I was ready a bit in advance so I called the company to ask if the driver were running on time. She was extremely polite and responsive and informed he too was actually running ahead of schedule. I headed down to the meeting point (Westport Inn) and the driver was there waiting for me. The only other scheduled pick up was already in the car so we headed toward NY. The driver was a very nice Turkish gentleman. He was incredibly friendly and courteous. The vehicle was more than comfortable and we arrived nearly 45 minutes early to JFK at around 11:45am. A couple of observations: 1. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend trying to use an off-peak shuttle pick up time like I did (mid-day in the middle of the week). My flight didn't leave until 4pm but it was worth getting to the airport extra early with no stress about traffic. You can't blame a limo service for the region's increasingly terrible traffic problem. 2. As others have noted, you do stop at LGA before JFK. Again, as long as you have time and schedule your transfer it's not a big deal. 3. I personally like the fact that the limo service only picks up in several specified locations right along I-95 (versus private homes or businesses) as it cuts down on travel time. I think after Westport there are only 2 or 3 more cities where it stops, so quite direct for those coming from Fairfield County. Made a prepaid reservation in advance for a pick up at LGA at 3:48 pm with complete airline information. Driver arrived at LGA at 5:06 p.m. in the heaviest of traffic. It seems that this company has more interest with their other company a private limousine service, not with Red Dot shuttle service I arrived back in CT after 7 p.m. Had to sit in front seat because car had two other passengers in rear. Don't, DO NOT use this shuttle service. It took us more than 3 hours to get from JFK to Stamford. I understand there's traffic, but my driver took several "shortcuts" that were not shortcuts at all. She didn't have GPS and when I offered mine she said she knew the way. She was also an incredibly aggressive driver, honking and swerving all over the place. She had to drop another passenger off before me and failed to close the trunk correctly, but didn't stop to close it properly afterwards. All of this was after waiting an hour at the airport to even be picked up. You can bet I'll never, NEVER be using this company again. read more

Call and made reservations for the shuttle to JFK from New Heaven and got charged for service. The diver never show up and I call back and they said sorry no service today!!!! What??? Red Dot is the WORST, most Unreliable shuttle service EVER! My husband arrived at llga airport at 130 p.m. And waited 4 hours for his car. Every time we called they said 10 min, 10 mins. After 2 hours they admitted that the shuttle was stuck in traffic coming from JFK, but would be there in 25 mins. Another hour later same response. Meanwhile a red dot shuttle came by to drop someone off. No apology from the company despite calling when he got home. No sense of customer service. Same thing happened when my brother came home for our mother's funeral. Waited 2 hours!!! They kept telling my brother to call back to speak to the manager. I took this once and never will again. It is worth the money to just pay for a car service. They called 10 minutes before my pickup to say that my pickup was 20 minutes late because of traffic.uhhhhh - the call doesn't help much bc I am on my way already to the pickup location. Luckily it was fine because I left plenty of time before my flight. On my way home, it was a complete and utter nightmare. Red Dot promises that it will take 45 minutes to the time you call for your pickup to the time you are on your way home. Not true. I was picked up from JFK only to sit in massive massive traffic that was reported all over the news because we had to go to LGA to get another passanger. It took over an hour and a half to get to LGA. I called the dispatcher because you could see on WAZE all the accidents and if we didn't have to go to LGA - we would avoid all the traffic, plus I was guaranteed to be on my way home in 45 minutes and we already had been in traffic for an hour and weren't even close to LGA. The dispatcher said "Sorry" I can't control for traffic. What??? You are a transportation service - you operate in traffic all the time! There is no other shuttle that can get this person? What about my 45 minute guarantee? Sorry - to bad - we don't really honor that for traffic NEVER AGAIN - I will just gladly pay up for the car service - taking hours to get home is not really worth 40 bucks difference that the car service costs read more

I don't even know where to begin. After a 11 hours flight I had to wait for 85 minutes for the Red Dot Shuttle to pick me up from JFK. The worst part is that I had to wait outside as each of the 4-5 times I called they were saying the shuttle will be there in 15-20 minutes, or any minute. Paying for a service that cause suffering just doesn't make sense. Don't know how these people sleep in the night. I'm writing this review with the hope I can save suffering for other people. Just call an Uber, it would be a bit more expensive, but your health is more valuable after all. You'll also save the humiliation this company may cause you. read more

After reading all the negative reviews, I was initially hesitating about booking their service. But it turned out that their shuttle service TO the airport is great!!! I booked a shuttle from CT to Laguardia. The shuttle was supposed to pick me up at 8:30am and arrive the airport at 10:45am. Surprisingly, the shuttle was a couple minutes earlier and by 8:30am, we were already on the highway! We made to the airport at 10am, leaving plenty of time for my flight. My driver was also very polite and had amazing driving skills. I have used airport shuttles in other areas around the nation, although this was the first time I've used red dot. It was not the best service, I doubt I'll use them again. The price point was decent compared to the other competitions from Fairfield to JFK. They called me 20 minutes before the scheduled departure at 6:10am to tell me the driver would be 15 minutes late. Once the driver arrived, she was tired and asked to stop for coffee. I didn't mind because I had plenty of time before my departure, but it was not very professional. The driver was friendly and decent but I got a but car sick when we hit a patch a heavy traffic. They have some points they can improve on, but they do get the job done. read more

I took this shuttle from Norwalk, CT to LaGuardia Airport, NY. The driver was on time to pick me up and I got to ride in a Lincoln SUV by myself to the airport. Overall I would recommend this shuttle service. My feedback would be that later pick-ups be available. The lastest they would pick me up was 9:45am for a 2pm flight which left me at the airport for 3 hours and 20 minutes for a domestic flight. The driver was also a little abrasive and aggressive with his driving. He had no problem honking at people multiples times if they weren't doing what he thought they should. read more

My flight arrived at JFK from San Diego at 5:30 in the morning and after calling their toll free number the driver picked me up within about 45 minutes although their first pick up is usually at 7:30am. There are a lot of shuttle companies nowadays all offering the same thing and believe me I've tried them all looking for the best rate, the best service, and everyone I've tried has either been late at some point or the vehicles not in the best condition. Red Dot is just the most consistent, very rarely are they late and almost every time I've been picked up it was in a car. When they do send a van it is brand new. I would recommend red dot because 9 times out of 10 the trip goes perfect. read more

Getting to the NY airports from New Haven can be easy or terrible experience. I usually travel with Go Shuttle, but my flight arrived at 11:25pm and Go Shuttle said that this would be too late for an airport pick up. So I gave Red Dot a try. I was picked up within 10 minutes and immediately were on our way. The driver was very courteous and even offered me a few snacks, saying that he knew I'd be hungry after a long day of travel. Took shuttle van from LGA to Conn on Sun, Oct. 6, 2013. Van was old with what appeared to be worn out shocks. Driver pulled off of expressway onto exit ramp much too fast with light drizzle. Van smashed into guard rail and went back and forth hitting guard rail on each side several times. Several pax thrown around because were not wearing seats belts. Fortunately, no one appeared to be seriously hurt, but one lady indicated she was going to hospital to see if she had a concussion. Would never take Red Dot again - unsafe! read more

After reading so many negative reviews about CT Limo shuttle I decided to go with Red Dot - honestly was still nervous as reviews were hit or miss. I could not have asked for better service. My Sunday morning ride from Milford, CT to LGA was smooth even with one other pick-up. Upon arriving at LGA a few days later I called to say I arrived, and they said to head downstairs that there would be a limo for me in about 15 minutes. I was surprised as this was a Thursday evening time that I thought would be popular - I lucked out! The normal 60 minute drive took almost 3 hours with traffic, but that can't be controlled. I was impressed with Red Dot! I was initially nervous because of other (very negative) reviews for other CT airport shuttle companies, but my experience with Red Dot was very good. I was the last person to be picked up both times, so maybe my experience is different. My driver got us to the airport very quickly (and early!) so I decided to book my return trip with Red Dot as well. On return, I called the line and the person very quickly handled my call and instructed me where to wait. I did have to wait around 30-40 minutes to be picked up at LGA (as the driver had just left JFK), but we left right after I was picked up and went on the way home! Seriously NOT impressed with this company. I had booked a pick up from my hotel (Hilton Hotel, Stamford, CT) to take me to JFK. The pick up time was booked for 8:15am and I was asked to be outside waiting at 8:10am. The shuttle did not arrive at my hotel until 9:00am! I did not receive any phone call from the company informing me that the driver was running late. This just left me very worried and nervous that I was going to be late and miss my flight! I had to call Red Dot several times myself to ask where the driver was. Wouldn't have minded as much if they had called me with update information, but NOTHING! When the driver finally did pick me up, he was very friendly, making jokes etc but to be honest I would have just expected a better service from the company. Luckily I arrived for my flight just in time. However, I was a very nervous passenger throughout the entire journey. Not only did my driver speed on the highway but he also drove way to close to the vehicle in front, swerved between lanes with no indication, and he was breaking very late indeed. He used his mobile phone, walkie talkie and also his iPad throughout the journey. This sort of behaviour is totally illegal in the UK and I would have thought America would have the same laws in place. Made me feel extremely unsafe and on edge throughout the journey.
