This restaurant serves very American Chinese style food. Hit and sour soup was sweet ( asked for vinegar and that helped). The Kung Poa chicken was requested super spicey and it came out with barely any spice. The bbq pork app was covered in a sauce. Rice is Jasmin rice. Homemade potstickers were juicy and plentiful, however the filling could've used a bit of salt. The ginger soy sauce was a lovely addition for dipping, along with the spicy mustard sauce...yum. I ordered the lunch special which included choice of soup, I opted for the egg drop which was light and tasty with bits of tofu and lovely egg whites. The Kung Pao chicken was spiced at medium which was perfect, and included fried rice, egg roll and a chicken wonton. The portion was perfectly sized and nicely priced at $14. This place reminds me of Panda Inn, in California. The restaurant itself is nicely maintained with comfortable and somewhat intimate seating. Service was excellent. This family definitely takes pride in their establishment and their food. Location is easy to find in VOC and parking is ample. Eating Chinese cuisine is a must every time we visit Sedona! We found a hidden gem with Red Chopstick. Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was fairly busy but no reservations were needed. Quick and efficient service and we were seated at a table with a revolving center piece. We started with some delicious curry puffs, chicken spring rolls and sizzling rice soup. Everything was flavorful , fresh and crispy! For the main course the schezuan chicken was an absolute bomb! The Singapore noodles was perfectly textured and flavorful. And the happy family has lots of meats and veggies. The place is filled with a lot of Chinese pots which gives it a nice touch , if a tad bit cluttered. Not your run of the mill restaurants. This family owned and operated place is a hidden gem. The food is very good. A traditional menu that brought me back to when chinese restaurants in the 1980's had it going on. We walked in and heard a mix of piano themed 80's hits, like Toto's "Africa". The place is filled with oversized vases of various shapes and patterns, all for sale. There's also a gift shop with crystals, chachkis, and much more. Reasonable prices and good people. read more

Great family owned and operated restaurant! Service is always friendly, warm and attentive. I have my favorites food items and rarely deviate from my usual order, but it is consistently excellent. I always include some veggie spring rolls or crab angles to start with. I am a local and have been coming here for over two decades, and they feel like family to me. The server was very attentive and ready to help up with anything. The whole restaurant was beautifully decorated, and we had a very clam meal. The food was very good,, I had kung poe chicken and it was mildly spicy but delicious nonetheless. Each meal comes with more than enough food for each person, a soup, rice, a wanton and and egg roll, as well as your main dish. The menu was fairly priced with each meal being around 15-18 dollars. We had to wait for a table for 3 of us but once we got seated, we ordered: 1. Kung Pao trio (with beef, chicken and shrimp) and made this a combo which comes with 1 soup a few bite size apps. Kung pao was also served with rice and this was really tasty and perfect spice level 2. Singapore Noodles with shrimp - this was also excellently made and perfect spice level. Wow. We went to Red Chopsticks with modest expectations for lunch. I ordered the lunch Kung Pao Chicken and my wife had the Pepper Beef. We both selected the Hot and Sour Soup I went Steamed Rice, she went with their Fried Rice with Ice Tea beverage. The Hot and Sour Soup was thick, delicious and velvety--a home run. The Kung Pao was delicious. Instead of the usual hunt for bits of chicken in a forest of chopped celery the chicken pieces were abundant, large, and delicious. There were ample peanuts and the sauce was delicious and a bit mild for Kung Pao. I had requested chili oil and was easily able to customize the heat level to my personal taste. Not only would I order it again, I'd order it right now. The tea was a bit flavorless and I wouldn't recommend it. My wife thought the pepper beef was well-portioned and flavorful. It was rather mild but again she was able to dial in the heat with chili oil. She would definitely order it again. It is an intimate setting, but casual. We ordered appetizers, and combo entrees. Everything we had was so delicious! The egg foo young & kung pao were some of the best I've ever had. Do not pass an opportunity to stop by and try out Red Chopstick! Yelp has done a great disservice to this restaurant by hiding it from search results - I hope that a review updates the algorithm. For reference, we've lived here three years and thought there was only two Chinese restaurants; one buffet in Cottonwood and one in Sedona (Panda does not count) and I use Yelp exclusively to search for places to eat especially in an unknown area. That all said, I stumbled on Red Chopsticks after having an appointment at an adjacent building. Ambiance: Very personal in that the family run business decorates in their style. I am a huge fan of non-franchises. Be aware though that table spacing is minimal and you can be seated uncomfortably close to neighboring tables almost like bar seating (this might be my only gripe) Service: outstanding! Our first visit was hosted by a young man. Very attentive and friendly. Seated Food: ordered General Tso's chicken and orange chicken entrees. First things first, they're both spicy dishes; not this bs Panda spicy, but the spicy that'll make you sweat. The heat isn't a tongue numbing burn but it definitely has kick. Most sauces I've tried are just too "bright and sweet" like sweet n sour sauce with orange, lemon or General Tso flavoring - it's wrong and the differences can be tasted - and Red Chopsticks does not disappoint! General Tso's Chicken is BRILLIANT! Anytime I try out a new Chinese restaurant, this is my first goto to see if it passes my wife's test. We had this family owned restaurant "back home" that closed. And in the 16-years since she hasn't tasted one that she loves, that is until I brought her here! And it is delicious! Orange chicken is equally delicious and I can't wait to bring my granddaughter. She, like her grandma, is particular to a flavor and how it's incorporated in the food.
