The Cummins diesel oil filter can be tricky, you can only access the filter through the passenger-side fender well. On these trucks, you really have to know what you're doing, right front tire has to be removed to properly access the fender-well opening and extract the oil filter. They handled the entire diesel oil change perfectly. Not a single drop of oil was left on my vehicle, and they also completed the safety checks, including my brakes and other important service items. I take all my vehicles here for automotive repair and maintenance. They are much more than just an oil change shop. A big difference is that you can drive through and depending on what time of day and if they're not busy, you should be done in like 15 to 20 minutes. I was in and out the Manager on duty Joey even came out and assisted with my car due to. It's a smaller vehicle and requires some extra assistance for maintenance. This is the first time that I ever experienced a manager actually in introducing themselves during an oil change so I appreciated that and I'm sure other customers do as well. I took the day off work and brought my vehicle in first thing Saturday morning, only to be told they don't have a technician available until Monday. Unfortunately I didn't know you can pull up to the garage when you're checking in and I had parked my car in the parking stall across from it. I waited about 10 minutes while they were working on another vehicle since they didn't get an alert I was there. Anthony helped me and immediately had another gentleman bring my car in and was very apologetic for the wait. He guided me inside the waiting room and let me know there were snacks and drinks that were complimentary and also a coffee mug I could take as well. The waiting room was clean and the chairs were comfortable. I also noticed a TV on the wall that had all the camera views in the garage and was surprised to see them cleaning my windows which really needed to be cleaned too. I paid ~$100 for the oil change with labor which was expected. Once they got my car back there it took about 25ish minutes from start to finish. Anthony took me to the back office where I checked out and he alerted me of an issue on my vehicle that he suggested I have checked out when I decide to. He also let me know they cleaned the windows and vacuumed inside the car. They had placed scented vent clips and also a $15 off coupon for the next oil change. Grease Monkey exceeded my expectations. I have been a customer of Goodguys Tire for over 25 years, buying tires and other services for 9…read moredifferent vehicles. That ended yesterday when the service manager Chuy (at the Brawley and Herndon location). I bought a set of tires and the technician that did the work indicated that my rear brakes were very worn and recommended replacement and also indicated that one of my front shock absorbers was leaking and also recommended replacement. I asked Chuy for an estimate to replace the shock absorber, which Chuy said was $3,072. I asked why was this so expensive, and he replied it was because my Mercedes had Air shocks. I told him that it did not, and he replied "Yes it does." I asked how he determined that and he replied the VIN for the car indicated it. I told him that if the car had air shocks that the air hoses would be visible on either side of the motor under the hood, and that they would attach to the tops of the shock towers. He called me back and said that his technician verified that my car did in fact have air shocks. I told him that vehicles with air shocks do not have coil springs as a compressor charged air bag handles the spring forces as well as the shock absorber functions. He said that my car had an air shock and a coil spring. I referred to the technicians report and asked where is the hydraulic oil leak coming from and Chuy said from the shock absorber. I told him that air shocks do not contain hydraulic fluid (see attached photo from the technician), and he said that he would follow up up and call me back. I checked the price for a Mercedes Benz OEM shock absorber for my vehicle and found that it cost $474. Chuy called back and apologized that he was mistaken and that my vehicle did not have air shocks, and I asked him to email my an estimate to replace the shock. The estimate was for $3,072 (the same price as the alleged air shock). As I read through the estimate I noticed that it was to replace 2 shocks not one. The shocks were $1,000 each and he was charging $1,072 for labor. I asked hi for a revised quote to install one shock not two. He emailed a second quote for one shock and the total was $2,072. The shock was $1,000 and he was charging $1,072 which was the same cost to install two shocks. When I asked why he is charging labor to install two shocks, he said that is because "we recommend that you replace the shocks in pairs, so it is a better value to replace both shocks." Chuy is an opportunist like a thief in the night. He probably thought that because I am 68 years old and drove a Mercedes that I knew nothing about auto mechanics. Chuy belongs in jail. I will be taking my auto repair and maintenance business elsewhere. Goodbye Goodguys - Goodbye thieves.
