STAY AWAY. This place, or at least the room we booked, is infested with roaches. Dead ones splattered on the floor, live ones crawling up the walls and hanging out in the shower, on light fixtures, and on the very hospitable toilet plunger that awaited us right inside the door when we opened it. Damaged furniture pulled out from the wall and strewn across the room. I didn't inspect the mattress because I was too skeeved out but I wouldn't be at all shocked if I found out it had bed bugs. After about 10 minutes spent documenting the horror, we returned to the office and asked for our money back. The gentleman at the desk was very happy to oblige and didn't give us a hard time, which was appreciated. This hotel seriously needs to be shut down. It's a huge health code violation.

I have used this hotel as well as their sister hotel, America's Best Value Inn right next door to it 3 times during my domestic violence issues I'm dealing with off and on over the past 4 weeks or so and there was no moment anytime I either needed something or even asked a single question that any of the male desk men (not including the young guy, he was professional and nice I was shocked) not one time that any of them didn't have a problem with me and became loud disrespectfully, obnoxious became spiteful and must have thought I was their wife, and tonight the two older men on duty very quickly found out I'm not their wives. The only way I know in lifes expiriences is to treat s**theads the same way they THINK they can treat you. Yup, tonight I had it and they got it right back what they spooned out from a man... I walked away from the main front guy after he threatened, "you will find out tomorrow what will happen'' (threat) I asked him 3 times what he meant and of course the coward refused to repeat what he threatened....when I arrived back to my room, the card had apparently been disabled. Yeah, ok... I have traveled the country and stayed in NUMEROUS hotels and NEVER have I EVER been treated with such indignation and impatience and not only am I appalled by the above, I'm appalled by the following pictures. That is their lock for a ground floor sliding door which partially opens, (safety issue ), there DUSCUSTING carpet could be blood? Who knows? Their discustingly dirty microwave oven, their poor insulation from bugs and the cold around their a/c - heaters, their t.v.s have digital lines running through them, their coffee is ICE COLD by around 3pm and remains that way all night long, the telephone buttons stick and barely work when you press them like old coffee glue was poured into them, they are short on cleaners and maintenance people and I've witnessed them treating them like garbage and yelling at them, their ice machines are always breaking down, there is no door security into any of the sections, anyone can simply walk in and their fire doors are never closed. They are Slum Lords who smile in your face until they get your money, then I PROMISE YOU you no longer matter. You wanna be a fool paying those jerks? Go ahead, it's your money. Not mine never again....there is PLENTY of competition everywhere around them. Do yourself and your family and friends a favor, stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Over and out... (I wish there was a ZERO but I'm stuck pressing a one star, that's ok....enough said....I'm reporting them tommorrow, why? Because they ASKED for it.

I wish I could leave ZERO stars! It was so bad, I left within 5 minutes of arrival and didn't return. The only reason I stayed that long was to document the horrendous details of the filthy, unsanitary conditions. Look at the pictures! The moment I opened the door to enter the motel (not just my room, but the motel in general), I was overcome by the smell of what can only be described as hot garbage and stale, sweaty cigarette smoke. My room had blood on the wall, food on the floor, holes in the wall, broken doors. But this is where it gets worse. There was literally multiple piles of feces that were dilapidated, moldy and stuck to the floor! We were told we couldn't check in early because the rooms needed to be cleaned. The bed was partially made, but that was the extent of the "cleaning" When I told the guy at the front desk, he acted like he couldn't understand English and I didn't get a refund. Let me be clear, I did not stay here. I paid in advance for a room that, for health reasons, could not be used. Nor should it ever be used by anyone. This place needs to be shut down sooner than possible.

Bug found on one of the beds.

While the extras might be more abundant at other places. We stayed at the Hampton after being trapped in a blizzard in New York. We walked in and we were greeted by a excellent you man behind the counter, Guillermo was his name and he made our stay a great experience. The lobby of the Hampton was clean and inviting and the gathering area and snack room nearby. The room was adequate for our needs, including desk, microwave and refrigerator., the minimum. Little did we know that our stay was about to be extended, courtesy of Hernado which left 2 feet of snow overnight. When we received the notification of our flight being canceled, Guillermo was able to help us get a little larger room and extend our stay. He also was the person that helped with all hotel duties and even was the person who brought up extra towels. Since the Hampton shares the property with the adjoining Hilton, the Hilton pool, gym and restaurants are all available for Hampton guests. This is a budget friendly hotel that still provides a clean, quiet and comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

The water heater didn't work in the evening, the entire stay, so there was no hot water for a shower. There was also no room service done despite of my complaint, and even the bath towels had an unpleasant smell. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a Hilton property. I would not stay here again.

Overall pleasant, but tired hotel. Would we stay again? Yes…read more We stayed here for the: -convenient-ish location (30-min drive to EWR Airport, 30 min drive to family) -nice looking gym - equipped with about 6 treadmills, a few other machines, and some free-weights, as well as complimentary waters and towels -coffee shop in the lobby -convenience shop in the lobby - appreciated the option of grabbing a late-night snack, drink, and wine from the comfort of our PJs (we grabbed some salty/cheesy snacks, a Klondike bar, and a small bottle of sauvignon blanc - yes prices are high, but worth it for the convenience) -attached restaurant - we didn't end up dining there on this visit but appreciated the option in case we needed a meal Our guest room was on the 5th floor, down an old corridor. The nearest elevator was a single elevator (not a bank of elevators), and it went out twice during our 4-day stay! Our room was spacious - felt very tired but it did have a white duvet cover, which is appreciated, and it did feel clean. Staff at the front desk didn't know the status of the elevators or what events were happening at the hotel. Strange that the hotel charges for parking. When we were there, their very large parking lot had tons of open spaces. I get an urban property charging when space is limited, but this seemed odd. Why not add it into the hotel charge? Again overall we liked the Hilton better than the other hotel nearby that we've stayed at. Our search continues for a Northern NJ hotel near to family with a solid gym. But if we stay in Parsippany again, we'll choose this over the other, more tired options.

I checked in around 12:30 AM on October 4 with my 7-year-old son and discovered a large wine bottle labeled "Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot" beside the bed with "pee bottle" written all over it. It was clear the room had never been properly cleaned or inspected. Housekeeping somehow missed a huge, disgusting bottle right next to the bed. As a mother, this was disturbing, unsanitary, and unacceptable. When I reported it, all the front desk did was offer to change my room and gave my son a Kit Kat as if that made up for such a nasty and unsafe situation. It honestly felt like an insult. Here's the final kicker, the following day I asked can we have a late check out for 12pm considering what occurred you would have thought they would have yes. Instead she said sorry my manager is very strict on late check out it is a $50 fee. Sonesta needs to seriously improve its cleaning standards and guest care. No parent should have to experience something like this.

When I was looking for a hotel in the area I did a bit of research and learned this homewood was recently renovated. The lobby is very nice and inviting along with the light color furniture selection and window detailing in the rooms. Homewood hotels always have a more spacious layout since they include kitchens and a living room area in either a studio or bedroom format. There is also a basketball court outside, an indoor pool, and 2 pelotons in the gym (per my coworker) for those that want to remain active during their stay. There is also onsite parking which I hear costs money from other reviews and I was not told that so waiting for that bill to come through... Now for the lack of cleanliness... I walked up to my room and there were 2 lady bugs right by my room number. I walked in my room and there was one on the wall. Since ladybugs can be an infestation, I figured switching rooms would not fix this. It was also late and I didn't feel like running around town to find another place to stay. Upon settling into the room I started finding hair in various places of all color... brown, blond, black, curly, wavy, and straight. My coffee table had a sticky spot on it, clearly not wiped throughly. There were brown/black spots on the ceiling and cabinets. I found a random pair of socks in the stairwell on my last morning as I was leaving. Also the cherry on the cake... my shower took FOREVER to heat up, to the point I thought it wasn't working. I made up my mind that I would suck it up and take a cold shower then check out first thing since I was exhausted and didn't feel like getting dressed and packing. Luckily as I was rushing to take my shower it started to get a little warmer and finally on the verge of hot, so I decided to stay another night and letting it run for 10 minutes before getting in (I would be pissed at this water bill if it were my actual home). Didn't remove a star for this but I do wish there were more takeaway options for breakfast like fruit. I grabbed a yogurt which worked but maybe some hotels are not doing fresh fruit anymore to minimize waste? I'll be staying here again soon since for longer trips my coworkers and I tend to need a kitchen to cook fresh meals (I hear the knives suck and my coworker bought her own) so I'll see if I just got a bad room or if the lack of cleanliness and lady bugs is consistent....

However, what really rubbed me the wrong way was being charged $15 PER NIGHT for parking WITHOUT BEING TOLD! We checked in, and were asked if we had a car. Naturally we said yes, and were handed a little tag to hand on our windshield. At no point were we told there was a charge for parking, nor did it state as much on the aforementioned tag. Several of my friends who checked in with us had a similar experience. Even if we were appropriately informed that we would have to pay, it's nonetheless a ridiculous policy. The only time I've ever had to pay for parking at a hotel like this was in the heart of major cities such as Manhattan or Chicago, not rural New Jersey!! Considering the rooms are disproportionately expensive as it is, making guests pay for parking is corporate greed at its worst. Additionally, my wife and I left our room at 9:00am to attend a nearby wedding. We got back to the hotel around midnight, only to find that our room had not been cleaned. It was very disappointing. Lastly, a friend of hours who was also staying in the hotel had called the front desk to request extra linens. The response? "Come down and get them." Like I said, the lobby was very clean and the breakfast was great, but having to pay for parking in an area like this is ludicrous. What made it even worse was the deception.
