We were extremely happy with Ruben's work installing a new range-hood and replacing a few light switches. When I initially called Ruben, he was either on vacation, or just leaving for one, which I didn't realize until I made a follow-up call (at which point his voice-mail message had been updated). He called us as soon as he returned, and came out to do the work the next day. The job proved to be more complicated and time consuming (three hours) than we'd hoped, as the vent-hole had to be enlarged, but Ruben still only charged us $175, which I thought was a fair price. I'm sure we'll use him again! read more

Super diligent and reliable, Ruben and his crew are quick and professional, and the end result is high value for the cost. This is a great company to work with on flipping homes, as well as for my personal residence. I rely on Ruben! He's usually super busy bc of quality of work, so definitely leave a message or just text him. read more

They showed up on time Wore mask and was very neat. Installed new main door and sheet rock for two large holes in my entry way. Damage was result of fire in building. I had water and smoke damage. The damage was caused by the Fire Dept trying to stop the water from entering. I would use them again. read more

Ruben and his crew did a really nice job replacing my bathroom floor and repairing downstairs ceiling after my toilet wax seal leaked. Very pleasant to work with and his work looks good. read more

Ruben and his crew have done several jobs in my home. The bathroom remodel was AWESOME! He is very fast and detail oriented. Also, he is a very nice, honest man I would trust to do any job!! read more

Excellent all around. I had an unusual problem with leaking from a vent in my ceiling and Ruben researched it the same day he looked at it and called me back promptly with advice on what to do before he could start the job. Punctual, efficient and always answers his phone! He even called me and gave me the name of a reputable vent cleaning company - who were also excellent! When the first part of the job was done, Ruben completed the rest of the work and went above and beyond the call of duty! I was having a fridge delivered the same day and he offered to drill through a wall and set up the water pipe for me - at no extra cost. His prices were extremely competitive and he had no problem helping me out with other little things around my house without charging me over the top prices. I would definitely recommend Ruben to anyone needing a repair man. read more

Ruben responded with me immediately and came to my place the same day to see my water leak. He was punctual and professional in helping me assess the repairs. He gave me a very clear assessment and fair quote for repairs. Unfortunately, we were not able to move forward with repairs because of complications with shutting the water off and needing to involve my Condo's Property's management co. and their plumbers. He gave me invaluable advice on how to proceed and helped me patch up the leak for the time being. From our interaction and how professional, prompt, and honest he was the entire time, I felt like I would reach out to Ruben on many future projects on my home as he is also very versatile as a contractor. Thanks so much for your help Ruben. read more

"Found a great handyman" I read the Yelp reviews and decided to call Ruben. I had purchased an RO Water Filter that goes under the sink. Yes it is supposed to be a DIY but I had a tricky plumbing situation. Ruben came and scoped out the project. His rate is reasonable. Other handymen that I called, did not even call me back. Ruben took the time to research my tricky plumbing situation and came back with a solution. He showed up and completed the job without any delay or issue. Overall, I am very satisfied with Ruben's service. I definitely recommend Ruben and would call him again for future projects. read more

Ruben and his crew did a good job remodeling our house. The work include interior paining, vanity lighting fixtures (oh yes, he removed that ugly old fluorescent lighting!), new toilets, crown moldings, new doors, resurfaced our vintage staircase, and some misc works. I'm satisfied with the overall quality of the work. The crews of R&G are capable, nice and honest. Price is fair based on quotes from other companies. At the end, Ruben even helped replace my drier cable for free! The only reason I knocked down one star was that the overall schedule was one week longer than originally planned. Will work with them again! read more

These guys never answer the phone and after leaving a voicemail, never returned my call. I guess they don't want my business nor want a good review from me. read more

Agree with the previous review. Ruben is really responsive, regardless of job small or big. Price is competitive as well. Someone you can trust. read more

Very professional and courteous! Ruben was available the very next day I called and installed my inbuilt microwave unit very well! He was patient and went the extra mile to fix some unrelated loose ducts he found as well. Price is very reasonable; Even though he had agreed to me lower counter offer, I paid him more impressed by his work ethic. I even stepped out to run an errand while he was in my house working! Very impressed and I'll definitely be calling him back for more. read more

I don't understand why everyone else gave such good reviews, maybe this person does do good work but I never got the chance to see it. I called this company yesterday to explain that I wanted two interior door frames built and was told he would call me back. I received a call back tonight with an estimate over 3 times what I have been quoted from others. Not only was the estimate outrageously high but the contractor never came out to visually inspect the work needed before giving me an estimate. Not only will I never hire this company but I will also never again call for an estimate. read more

Ruben is fabulous. He is always very responsive and on time. He came out to my house and installed my microwave. He is very professional and a pleasure to do business with. I called him a second time for repair on a vent, trimming doors, and hanging a shelf....and again his response time was quick and I got a quote that same day. Ruben is great! read more

Ruben was great !! Not only get the job done on time, but also go for an extra miles for us. Price is reasonable, more like between contractor and handyman. Most important from all the above is HONEST !! Any future fixing or projects will call him again for sure. read more

I contacted Ruben, for a small cabinet work in my Garage, few months ago, he showed up on time, gave some good suggestions, which forced me to re-think about the project and found its not worth to do. Now I'm in search for a contractor/landscaper who can build a roofed exterior grill area with sink and cabinets and build cast iron decorated component wall/fence (comes under landscaping and gardening) . Ruben please let me know if you can take this project. read more

Ruben is the best handyman we ever used, he is so easy to trust and dependable. His prices are quite reasonable and we appreciate how fast he returns the calls. His work is very good, he does such good job. We will call him again and again. read more

I was extremely pleased with the work/repair that was done in my master bathroom. It was done in a couple of days as Ruben stated, even though the damage (wood rot, plus termites around the toilet) was greater than was expected. He was there everyday to check to make sure things were moving along on schedule. I truly appreciated his integrity, honesty and his concern when he felt I was owed money. He called after the job was finished to ensure I was completely satisfied. My husband found him on yelp and I can see now why he is so highly rated in the work he does. I would not hesitate to recommend him to my family and friends. He will also be my first phone call when I have work or repairs that need to be done. read more

I can't believe it took me so long to write this review!! Ruben was amazing! We called him on a Sunday, thinking we would get a quote, he not only gave us an amazing quote (MUCH less than any of the other 4 or 5 that I had received), but he came out that day and fixed our leaky and backed up bathroom sink. He quoted us an hour of work based on what we had told him, he ended up staying 2 hours, and charging us a whopping 20 bucks for the extra time. Turns out our sink problem was a combination of leaky fittings AND a huge blockage in one of our main pipes. That blockage had been causing plumbing problems for us for years, and over a thousand dollars and 4 years later none of the other plumbers were able to find it and remedy the problem. He was under the house, in crawl spaces, snaking out pipes, on top of fixing the leaky sink in the bathroom. He was amazing, clean, efficient, friendly, and the price was amazing!! Reading other reviews I've learned that he is great at construction as well. Will I ever call anyone else to deal with any problems around the house? Never! Ruben is the only person I will call, from now on, and he's the only person YOU should call as well! read more

Ruben did a great job replacing my shower! Very responsive, great communication. Ruben and his team worked hard everyday to get the job done as fast as possible with the best quality work. Highly recommended! read more

I read Ruben's prior review and I decided to give him a call and remodel my entire garage. I think if yelp allows you to give a 10star review I would have given him 10. He is honest, hardworking and cost effective. read more

he did a decent job replacing light fixtures. the only thing is he quoted $150 for the job and I ended up being charged for $250. Asked him to replace some plumbing fixtures in my bath, he hesitated. Said it is best to get a plumber. Not an unusually request, just replace fixtures in the shower and tub. To say he can handle any job big and small is an exaggeration. read more

My husband and I recently hired Ruben to remodel our entertainment system area and fireplace (previous owner screwed both up pretty badly). It was our 1st time remodeling anything, so we were nervous about hiring a reliable and affordable contractor. Luckily, we found Ruben on Yelp. His quote was reasonable, and he was very responsive to our questions from the beginning. He was honest, careful, thoughtful, and hardworking. We are happy with the results and would definitely hire him again for future renovation projects. read more

If I wasn't a perfectionist, I would give Ruben 5 stars. He really deserves 4.5 stars in my book. Ruben built a closet for me to help me convert my den into a room. He built the closet over the existing hardwood floors without ruining my floors. The dry wall and sheet rock that he did was pretty nice. He tried to match my existing home as much as possible. He was early arriving on most days and on the other days he arrived on time. He did everything to my specifications. My only complaint is that my emails wouldn't always get to him because they went to his spam folder, but that was easily solved with a follow up phone call. His pricing is also very competitive. I would definitely use him again. read more

Called Reuben to do sheet rock work. He came on time, took care of the job with great details. I would call him again if I need his help. Seems very reasonable and responsible, honest person. Hard to find those kind of people these days! Great job, Thanks a lot! read more

Ruben was very nice and did a great job redoing our entire bathroom. It's a half bath in which he gutted the bathroom and just left the walls. He help us patch, paint, tile our floors and replace all the items (vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, fan, light fixture, bathroom accessories and toilet) in the bathroom. He did a great job and cleaned up after himself. Best of all, he did this in less than a week and was very reasonably priced. I would definitely use him in the future for other projects. read more
