We parked on the shoulders / ditches leading up to the location as they only have six parking spots. The line was all the way down the driveway and from the moment I got in line to the moment I left with my food took 50 minutes. When you go inside you stand in a shorter line and order your seafood raw, smoked or fried. I do wish they offered more grilled options as I'm not a huge fan of either smoked or fried fish. We got the Lake Perch, Ocean Perch, Smoked White Fish and Catfish. It was all fresh fish, with a tasting seasoning / batter that wasn't too greasy, though if it was grilled I think I could have enjoyed the flavors in the different fishes better. After you place your order you can take it to go, go across the street to the park or on the left side of the business sit at one of the five picnic tables that are shaded by local trees, minus that one table that's doing its own thing. I will for sure come back like all the rest of the locals and tourists when in the area.

I forgot to ask for the lobster roll Connecticut style (which I usually prefer) when I ordered so the sandwich had cold lobster with a mayo type sauce on it as well as tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce and it was delicious! It tasted fresh and came with a good portion size. The truffle fries were also good and not too salty. The food was served pretty quickly as well. It came out PIPING HOT. The cod was flakey and delicious. Perfectly crispy and perfectly cooked. "Stinky fries" are absolutely covered in garlic. I didn't mind them, but am not much of a fry eater. My partner enjoyed them with the hot sauce offered at the window. He also enjoyed the Whitefish. The coleslaw is creamy with a slight kick (similar to the "kick" of a radish). The cucumber salad was really good. It was dill, cucumber, onion, and then some form of liquid (possibly a brine). Personally, my initial thought was that it's a bit pricey for what you get, but it's downtown Grand Haven so to be expected. My burger was delicious and the coleslaw was genuinely the best I've ever had (a wild claim as someone who's lived in the south half their life!). I also ordered a seasonal coffee from their Valentine's menu that was raspberry and white chocolate flavored. I'm not always a fruit flavored coffee person, but River Stop Cafe does it well! Despite it being quite busy during our visit, service was still relatively quick and the ambiance made for an enjoyable wait.
