100% recommend, one of the best experiences I had as a client. Jensen and Zach were very thorough with our project, not only they met our expectation, but exceeded them. We had an idea in mind about what we wanted to do, they gave some really good and cost effective recommendations that made our project much better. During the construction we mainly worked with Zach and he was simply amazing: great communication, very knowledgeable, extremely polite and respectful. We are looking forward to our next project with Red Agave!

New planters with Red Yucca and Big Muhly. Going to add an outdoor dining area in the new space.

I bought a new build in January 2020 and knew going into it that I was going to have some drainage issues based on the area and flood plain. It wasn't until I was finally moved in that I realized how big the project to correct would be. The builder added some drainage that resolved the issue for the most part, but it looked like a mess and my OCD tendency kicked into overdrive. I used Red Agave to landscape my front yard and was happy with them, but the work in the backyard has been extraordinary. They essentially turned a mud pit into a beautiful outdoor space. As a part of the project they moved all the down spout drainage into underground drains that empty into a nearby creek. Serendipitously we had heavy rain the next day after the project completed and it was a night and day difference. The clean lines make me so happy... it's the attention to detail on this project that are really something. The custom made welded steel planters that match the front yard, the colors, and the drip system all are very high quality workmanship. Red Agave is probably not cheapest in town, but they work they do is incredible. I would highly recommend them. I included some pictures of both the front and back yard. I regret not taking before pictures, but you get the point. Thanks Alex and Clayton for all your work on this. Until the next project, cheers!

After updating our house's exterior features, i.e., siding, windows, paint, etc., we wanted to find a cost-effective approach to continuing those themes throughout the rest of our outdoor environment, which Jensen and team were able to deliver 100% through landscaping and building a backyard deck. I was drawn to Red Agave based on their gallery of work online, as well as the awesome reviews listed here. I bid them up against a larger company, and not only was Jensen's bid much more cost effective (~30% less), I really enjoyed meeting him and discussing his vision for how to meet my needs and stay within a reasonable budget. In fact, his vision is how I scoped the bid for the competitor company, and they still came in so much higher. In speaking with the project manager, Bo (who also does A LOT of the actual work), I was essentially upsold on adding an irrigation system and adjusting the grade of my backyard, which was able to be added-on with some flexible timing, and something I was extremely excited to add to my home's features! Jensen also got me a great deal on plants that are currently being added throughout my steel / deck planters! If you're flexible on timing (these guys are a smaller, and very busy company) and you appreciate having a working relationship with your landscape designer -- you won't find anyone else who cares as much about the quality of their work, while also delivering that work at a reasonable cost. The pictures below really speak for themself. Writing this review is somewhat bitter-sweet, as my projects are all wrapping up now, and I've really enjoyed working with Bo and Jensen!

11 foot (trunk height), ~1,000 pound cabbage palm tree planted in Austin by Red Agave Landscaping
    Rohan X.

Jensen at Red Agave Landscaping provided a cost estimate of a sabal palm (cabbage tree) planting in Austin during June after I sent him a couple of photos. It was the type of fast information that helped with the decision to go with them. He also let us know the type of equipment that his guy, Conner, would bring (mini skid steer, auger, fork lift). Conner at Red Agave arrived on time and helped to unload a ~1,000 pound, 11 foot (height) palm tree. He dug the hole, planted the tree, filled with compost, and cleaned up. Thanks so much for the hard work & service! Would use them again and recommend to my friends!

We had a complete renovation of our entire property that lasted for weeks, and Red Agave made it so easy on us. I can not say enough positive things about the whole crew. They were punctual, communicative, pleasant, respectful of my family (including our dog) and our space. I didn't know exactly what I wanted except I didn't want to water too much, and I wanted a fire pit. Alex came up with an incredibly beautiful plan that I could have never dreamed up. I can't believe the transformation or how easy it has been to work with them. Hire them.

My new patio and walk way!
    Brien S.

Jensen has done an outstanding job for me in building us a new patio and walk way. From the Free design and consultation to working with me on price points to the quality of work, Jensen has earned a customer for life. He is really laid back and works very hard. He welded the entire steel frame of my new patio and walk way by himself working a 10 hour straight day in the TX HEAT! My wife and I are really excited about having an awesome new patio and walk way in our back yard. I also have a crazy bamboo issue which he also has helped with to begin eradicating. He left some dirt marks on my drive way from the ditch witch he used in my back yard. I asked him to come back and power wash it and without any type of hesitation was happy to do so. He completed the clean of my driveway today! Jensen did an outstanding job and I'll be referring him to friends, family and clients! Thank you Jensen for your honest, excellent and hard work!

    Bermuda grass in pathway

After reading Laurens review, I am even more frustrated and disappointed about what happened at my home. She evidently had the opportunity to work with the somewhat professional Crew. I guess my project was not important enough so I got the alcoholic who was drinking on the job and a psychotic homeless person. After interviewing 4 landscape companies, I decide to go with Red Agave based on meeting Jensen, Zach, great reviews and photos. I was truly impressed with them both. I had no experience with landscaping or how it should be handled so it was very Important I work with someone I trust, which I thought I was doing, I had no particular budget. Just wanted it all done right. The project was to install a. 75 x 3 foot rock/paver pathway around my cement patio and swim spa. Zach ,foreman on this project , assured me that the person that was doing my job was great and had been there a long time . I felt confident it would be Ok. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I have had 4 reputable Landsape companies here to look at this mess and they have all given me the same response about the unprofessional and sloppy work that was done here. All addressed the same issues On their own. I always though I just had weeds . It was Bermuda grass and was NEVER mentioned or address in anyway with me on how invasive it is or make any additional effort to offer options available to help reduce the risk of the bermuda spreading into my pathway. The weed barrier that was installed is l/2 inch short of even touching the metal edging.Should go up the steel to help protect the pathway from invasive weeds, roots, etc. There are no pins holding the weed barrier in place. 75 feet of metal edging not installed correctly, majority of it is lying directly on the top of the dirt. should be installed 2 inches or more in the ground. Decomposed granite should only been installed under each paver,it was spread over all the weed barrier so it is now mixed in with the black rock. Since the weed barrier, dg and metal have been installed incorrectly, the Bermuda grass has taken over the pathway and everything needs to be removed , hauled off and reinstalled. the reinstallation would definitely have to be done by another company since I would NEVER rehire them. originally , 24 paver were not set correctly and were about 1/2 inch too short and did not line up with the cement patio and metal edging. They had to be reset. Zach convinced me to let him resurface my patio and pavers convinced me to resurface them and the patio . While he was resurfacing , he admitted he had no experience and never wanted to to do it again. I stopped him immediately but it was too late. Pavers were ruined and patio was very costly to repair. The rock that was delivered by the same employee was supposed to 5/8 inch When I looked at it, it did not look right but he assured me it was only on the top and underneath was fine. I had to leave and when I returned, I was furious. It was not the correct rock, it was tiny pebbles to 3.5 inch rocks. I called Jensen and Zach and told them it was not correct and they need to get it out of here and redo it with the correct product. Thy did take care of it. But I did not appreciate being lied to like that. They brought a homeless person named Tim over here, He had all of his belongings in plastic bags which he stashed behind my outdoor building. I was a bit uncomfortable but he was being supervised About an hour later I noticed that the person with him had left. I was concerned but just stayed indoors. I did notice he was having very animated conversations with himself and thought that was a bit strange but did not make a big deal about it. He kept working and early afternoon he started yell, cursing and pacing up and down my driveway . I I called Jensen and Zach to come and get him. I was both scared and embarrassed. My neighbor heard it all and called me to see what was happening. He showd up back at my house around 7;30pm and was knocking on my door! Jensen admitted to me they discovered he was psychotic. Weed Barrier , Bermuda grass and metal edging issues showed up after they were paid and left. I contacted Zach about the bermuda issues .We discovered the weed barrier issues were the cause . I had agreed to let them fix it but after that I discovered the other issue of the steel edging not being installed correctly and that was the last straw for me. I have no idea why I put up with so many issues with them but I did but . I should have fired them early on. I have told Jensen only option is removal of everything and reimbursement. He has acted like none of this is a big deal and wanted to come "Fix the weed barrier". That was his fix to all of this. Not acceptable and now he is ghosting me. I did file a complaint with BBB and hopefully we can get this resolved so we can all move on.

    Amazing back yard work
    Sam H.

By far the best experience with my new home to date. I had Red Agave put a path in on the side of my house and the entire project from mapping it out to laying the gravel took less then a week. Jensen was super knowledgeable about my current landscaping and answered all my questions. He even gave me tips on what to plant in my front yard! The path looks beautiful and is going to save me a lot of trouble when the rainy season hits. It was also super affordable! I would highly recommend Jensen and Red Agave for all your Zero-Scaping needs! UPDATE!!! : So since I loved the pathway so much I had my back yard done As well! My builder had laid grass that can't grow because of lots of shade and my back yard just looked like crap. I had Jensen come by and fix it up with gravel and decomposed granite and it's a thousand time better! This guys is my go to for anything landscape!

They handled the full transformation: Texas native plants, fresh sod, irrigation, lighting, a new patio with poured concrete pavers, a pergola, and decking built around our above-ground pool. The result feels intentional, cohesive, and well suited to both the climate and how we use the space. We worked with their designers to develop the plan, and that process was smooth and collaborative. They listened, had good instincts, and were happy to iterate with us until the design felt right. From first contact to breaking ground took about three months, which felt reasonable given the scope. Once construction started, everything moved fast--the entire project was completed around two to three weeks. Most importantly, we're extremely happy with the outcome. The yard is beautiful and dramatically more usable than before. Jason and Nikk were a pleasure to work with throughout: friendly, proactive, communicative, with good taste and a strong sense for design. While all the companies, including Southern Landscaping and Design, were nice and responsive, I feel the need to share our experience regarding their pricing. The quotes we received from the first three companies ranged between $9,000 and $11,000, which seemed reasonable for the scope of work. However, Southern Landscaping and Design came back with a quote of just over $28,000--nearly three times the amount of the other bids. I'm sure they do great work, but this level of pricing feels excessive and difficult to justify. I wanted to share this as a heads-up for anyone considering them. It's always worth getting multiple quotes to ensure you're paying a fair price.

We did a complete backyard overhaul and transformed it from a bare mud pit to a backyard oasis that we now love spending time in now: new sod on half the hard, paver patio and crushed granite on the other half, limestone retaining wall and mulch bed on the back wall, drainage, and irrigation through out. We had an old and non functioning irrigation system that we inherited from the previous owners and rather than just ripping it up and charging us for a new one, Aaron spent hours servicing and getting it to work, and then customized it to work with the new yard layout. We also had some freak of nature downpour of rain pretty soon after the big project was complete, which washed away some of the granite and caused the patio to settle with some dips. Aaron came back and fixed it all and added in additional drainage to keep it from happening again. Aaron is my guy forever now - extremely fair on pricing, honest, full of integrity, thorough, and just an all around nice guy. You won't be disappointed if you choose to work with him.

I did a lot of research on artificial turf companies servicing the Brushy Creek area and after some shopping around, came across Umesh and KG Lawn Care. After receiving some ridiculous quotes from some of the "bigger" artificial turf companies, offering a lower grade of turf for a substantially higher price, I went forward with the project with Umesh and KG Lawn Care. Umesh took on my project of installing approximately 1000 sqft of artificial turf, metal edging, and black star gravel around some cypress trees. Roughly a month before starting, I expressed to Umesh my desire to have the project completed in time for our family's annual crawfish boil, which he assured me he would fulfill. I can't say enough positive things about Umesh, Lucas, and their crew. As we neared the date of my family's party, Umesh assured me that he would push to make the deadline, even with unpredictable central Texas weather. Umesh not only kept to his promise in finishing the project in time for our party, but also knocked it out of the park! The artificial turf looks incredible and instantly became my daughter's favorite place to play. Umesh and his crew put a level of detail into the project in ensuring every aspect was perfect for my family. As pleased as I am with the project itself, the most noteworthy aspect I want to highlight in this review is how Umesh does business. In a world where so many are looking to cut corners, charge more, and provide less, I found that Umesh is a man of immense integrity who keeps to his word. Umesh delivered on his promise to ensure my yard was immaculate for my family's party, but most notably, his promise on pricing. A day before our turf was set to be installed, Umesh was notified by the turf company that the turf we picked out was no longer available (with zero warning). Umesh was forced to upgrade the turf at a difference of nearly $800. I offered to split the difference with Umesh but was told: "Nah man, it's all good. I like to keep my word and pricing. It's not your fault." This really struck me that Umesh was willing to eat $800 in order to keep his word with me on pricing. KG Lawn Care exceeded my expectations and truly helped me complete my dream back yard - The quality of work and character of Umesh will have me recommending him and his company to all my family and friends!

They quickly replied through Yelp once I sent them a message and the estimator was here in a couple of days for an estimate and to provide guidance. He was very helpful in making the decisions we choose. We pretty much revamped our entire landscape. New Sod, removal of old sod and installation of zero scape/natural flat stones/gravel. Replanted all the beds, reworked sprinkler system and a massive trim out of existing shrubs and the sort. Not inexpensive, however they were still less expensive then another service, who suggested such things as a French drain, which really didn't make sense and came in a couple grand higher. The crew were numerous and were on time, courteous and knocked out the project in only a few days. One slight slip was the sod was not available on the last day, so we skipped a day and had the job completed the day after. It still was in the time frame they informed us on to begin with and let us know the day before the sod was to be installed. The result of their hard work will be truly noticed when the new plantings take hold. We have been fortunate with having several days of rain and cool weather. A couple of weeks in the sod has taken hold and none of the plantings have died and are all perking up from the transplanting experience. Super appreciated and can't wait to reach out to PRT in the future to help us with refreshing our flower beds. They do have a bit a wait but you receive quality results it's definitely worth it.
