So this was my first time to go here and it was a good experience. It was well organized and efficient. A couple of employees seemed a bit aggravated when I had questions about the process but they did answer my questions. I did get fair treatment and I will certainly go back again. They have a lot of cool stuff as you enter the yard that I assume is for sale but not for sure on that. Will check next time I go in. I like it better than other scrap yards in the area so it may be worth your time to come here yourself. read more

Established in 1995.

Tom Fisher, a 30-year veteran of the metals recycling industry, leads Recycle USA, Inc, a division of Fisher Industries, LLC, and truly believes in the mission of recycling. A focused, committed and innovative leader, Tom works on helping customers develop sustainable recycling solutions as they mutually grow into the future. Tom is originally from Cleveland, Ohio relocating in Birmingham in 1989 married to Suzette Fisher of 23 years with young daughters. Tom learned the business from the ground up. Tom received his real education through the United operating “School of Hard Knocks,” working through the various facets of the metal industry back in 1985 as a Non-Ferrous Operations Manager for Southern Metals Company in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tom prides himself with the companies support of the local community, environment, and is dedicated to ensuring legal and safe recycling practices. He is currently the Treasurer of the Alabama Recycling Association.

Tom Fisher and Recycle USA is the definition of the American Dream. Fisher, who has been the owner-operator of Recycle USA in Pinson for more than 20 years, has worked his way from sweeping floors to his position today by hard work and taking chances. Recycle USA has become one of Birmingham metro area's biggest and most productive metal recyclers since opening in 1995. Fisher is the treasurer of the Alabama Recycling Association and member of the ISRI (Institution of Scrap and Recycling Industries). Building his company on hard work and dedication is how he's continued to make Recycle USA a destination for metal recycling.

This is the best Recycling center in the State of Alabama, I would RATHER not recycle anywhere else. They are friendly and knowledgeable, The facility is the cleanest scrap yard I have sold my scrap metals to. They actually pay what they quote over the phone. The owner (Tom Fisher) found out that it was my first time to visit, he was kind and polite, gave me his personal business card and told me to call him anytime if a had any recycling needs. The owner Tom and his employees here are always nice and polite, outstanding customer service, there always busy 5 -1/2 days a week, if you ever have a problem just ask is what I'm told, but I've never had an issue ar all with them and if you find something you cant live without, all you do is ask Tom and he will gladly help you in anyway he can. read more
