I was stuck in a cramped chalet room that was so small it couldn't comfortably fit two people standing, nor did the suitcase fit anywhere except on the bed itself. It was also incredibly hot because of the poor design of the building and windows. When my husband and I asked to switch rooms, the staff lied to us and told us no other rooms were available (we know from talking to other guests who were offered free upgrades that was false), and we could leave the hotel if we weren't happy. We couldn't switch hotels given that my husband was the best man in a wedding being held there, as the staff well knew. When I asked later if there was a fan because of how hot the room was, I was again told half a dozen times that I could just leave, and that they didn't keep fans because it's just too expensive. When I queried why they were charging 85 gbp for such a tiny room, they told me that I "got what I paid for." When I retorted that the website claims the rooms are luxury rooms, the response was "well it is luxury" despite the obvious implication earlier that if I get the "cheap" room, I deserve something so cramped. I ended up sleeping in the fetal position on the floor because it was at least a bit cooler on the tiles. The management should be embarrassed for charging so much for terrible rooms, for lying to guests, and simply telling them to leave instead of doing something so simple like a) apologizing, b) switching us to a better room or c) at least having fans on hand in the summertime. This isn't the first review to complain about how hot the chalet rooms are, or how terrible the service is - please pay attention this time! read more
