It's in a…read moregreat location, just about a 15 minute walk (partially along the forest path near the River Cam) south of the city center, which also makes it more convenient to walk to Grantchester village if you want to visit the Orchard Tea Gardens (which you should do!). If you are arriving at the Cambridge train station a cab is only about £6 as of 2014 if you don't want to drag your luggage through the forest, which we found out the hard way. Jonathan is a very kind and helpful host, and everything is chosen with great care, from the modern yet functional fixtures, to the clean and unusually large beds compared to other beds we encountered in the UK, to the beautifully handpicked furniture. Jonathan also buys groceries early every morning, so the fresh fruit and local sausage and bacon he serves are outstanding. He also makes perfectly cooked eggs, as well as delicious homemade fruit smoothies! I would definitely stay here again.

As all the B&B was full Duncan offered us one of the apartments. At the end was even better because we could have eaten at home, and going out for drinking.. The apartment was totally amazing: super clean, super modern, very well full furnished with latest distinctive fine design furniture. I appreciated the black marble kitchen top, and the table lamps in the bedroom. Duncan and Emma let us find fresh milk and orange juice in fridge, and some other goods for breakfast, rice, pasta ,etc (I have to admit, I brought my italian coffee and coffee machine from London). Emma has been so nice with us, giving us a map and showing us the way to reach the centre, best things to do, etc. The place is around 15 mins on foot far from the centre, but if you're lazy there is a bus. 5 mins far from the house there are a couple of pub on the river, we've been there on friday evening and there was live rock music with good wine and beer. The price is not very cheap but reasonable for a such well kept apartment and the kindness of the owners. There's also a grocery next to the house open 7am-11pm every day, very useful. Defenitely a place I recommend and where I'll be back if we'll go to Cambridge again. It is the second best option, if you have to get to Madingley Hall, but cannot find accommodation there. The rooms are tiny, but comfortable with complementary toiletries and coffee/tea in the room. They only provide breakfast which is an addition 10 or 12 pounds depending on whether you want cooked or continental fare. Cooked breakfast takes a while to appear, so I would not recommend it if you are in a hurry. Don't expect a working farm. They have one horse and 2 sheep. This is more of a B&B and Wedding venue than a farm. Service was pleasant. They were very helpful with directions and ordering taxis. The Madingley Hall / Cambridge Park & Ride is a 10-15 minute walk away from where you can catch buses to the center of town. But this isn't the most convenient option if you are exhausted after a long day.

We had the best experience ever because I booked the master bedroom (or bridal suite!) which for only a few pounds more than the other rooms was magnificent - huge with lots of windows overlooking the garden and furnished as a country house. Really comfortable and quiet. There's a small open air swimming pool and a tennis court free for use by residents and a good continental breakfast for £10. It's a good walk across fields into the centre of Cambridge and a £10 taxi ride back after dinner. During the day there's a Park and Ride a short distance away so you can get the bus in. Definitely recommend though the new charge for parking in the carpark seems a bit mean.

I overslept one morning and so missed breakfast, but the lady was kind enough to offer some cereal and milk. The next morning I made sure to wake up early enough for breakfast and it was one of the most homely and welcoming breakfasts I've ever had the pleasure of dining on. This traditional english breakfast had sausage links, irish bacon, eggs overeasy, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns, tomato slices, toast with butter, and some milk and juice. To say it was wonderful would be an understatement. In regards to the room -- it was small, quaint, and very tidy. I was impressed with it and quickly settled in for my short stay. It had a comfortable bed, a flatscreen television in the corner, a European bathroom with a push-button operated shower, and power outlets to charge my geek devices. The staff was warm and welcoming, and I could not have had a better experience as a lone traveler passing through during my first time in England. I highly recommend Bramble Corner!!

V friendly people run the place. It's a good 30 minute walk to centre of Cambridge but there is a bus every 10min a 5 min walk away. The area is more urban than those towards the centre - so not much nearby for an evening stroll. Recommended though due to care & effort owners put into making your stay comfortable.
