I'd like to start by saying THANK YOU to all the awesome and fabulous staff that work at Windsor…read moreGardens of San Diego. I was recently discharged after 2.5 years of a long healing process of a secondary condition cause by final stage renal failure, I was also the president of the resident council. I'm grateful and blessed to have been at Windsor Gardens where I met and was taken care off by a amazing group of Nurse, LVN's and CNA's who carry empathy, love, and compassion for their calling to serve and care for others who are sick and less fortunate and are in a vulnerable state. For that I was blessed that I had a top tier team of medical professional. They have been a lot of staff changes in the last 8 months, but the new staff is just as amazing or better then the ones they replaced. The admission ladies Mrs. Carmen, Ms. Ruby and Ms. Angelica they were always willing to help, when the residents ask them for any special request. The Social worker Ms Judith she is well informed and knowledgeable in the healthcare industry. She always went the extra mile to help us the residents get the treatment and transportation that we all needed for our healthcare and personal needs when available. Unfortunately most of these amazing people are no longer at Windsor Gardens and they will be missed by everyone. First of all I believe in treating everyone with politeness, kindness, respect and dignity no mater what their job title or education, it called having manners and empathy. With that said. But the ones thar are still there, like Carmen Gomez, Isamar, Maritess are an amazing group of professionals with caring souls for their patients. They always have a smile, always friendly towards everybody. I'd like to thank the both Mrs Silvia and Mrs Christina these 2 wonderful ladies at activities who keep all the residents entertained and busy throughout the day and week as well as hold Sunday Christian services for the residents they go out of their way and beyond to help the residents. Just like everyone else, they always go above and beyond for the residents all trying to make sure everyone is well taken care of and their needs are met. These hard working individuals have the empathy, the love, the caring compassion that defines extraordinary people caring out a calling to help, protect, serve their fellow people. I was a very lucky individual I always had my morning conversations with almost everyone there throughout the day. The housekeeper staff and Mrs. Vanessa the supervisor always made sure are rooms and areas where clean as well as our clothes. They were always willing to clean up after the messy residents that just made a bigger mess (dont really know how but they found a way to be extra messy). Physical and Occupational therapy always gave their best to help everyone get back some of our independence though therapy and hard work some residents had a resistance to the work but without it we would all relay on everyone else and well that not how i want to live so i worked to get some of my independence. I would also love to thank all the amazing and extraordinary group of professionals that work as CNA's, LVN's and RN/BSN... Ms. Valeria Diaz, Ms Evelyn Jimenez, Hazel Navarro, Angel Rivera, Esmeralda Gurrola, Valeria Vazquez, Marilyn Garcia, Johnathon Paul Guerrero, Rosa Ruiz, Jessenia Ibarra, Jennifer Cira, Abby de los Reyes, Anthony Khuu, Alyssa Natividad, Mikel Sison, Loraine Ignacio, Issac Miraflorez, LaArnie, Edralin, Gina, Luz, Estella, Jelicoh, Leiola I was blessed to have these amazing professionals on my medical team throughout my stay at Windsor they were very knowledgeable and explained with great detail and compassion what my medical prognosis was at every stage of either decline or improvement they made life easier and adjustable for me to get better. This facility has the best staff imaginable they all work together to help each other as well as the residents thrive. Yes you have the residents that complain or don't have the understanding that this is not a 1 on 1 hospital and that their sometimes patients/ residents that are much more needy then themselves. Might help if there's a patient, skilled facility advocate to inform the patients that Windsor is not a 1 on 1 patient care so they can understand that there's a 1-10 patient/cna's, 1 to 30 patient/ nurse ratio so maybe that way they realize and understand that its not an easy task to watch over so many patients/ residents. Even the kitchen staff is absolutely great they always friendly with the residents. Overall i really believe that Windsor is one of the best places to receive excellent care, by a group of extraordinary healthcare professionals who believe in going the extra mile for their patients/ residents to thrive.

I have never written a review for anything, but this place is unsafe. The staff, though some are personally nice enough, do not readily respond to call buttons. A one to three hour wait is not uncommon. The assigned facility doctor, who never actually met me, disregarded all my surgeon's discharge instructions and refused to discharge me. The food was scant, bland and not balanced nutrition for anyone, but especially deficient after a surgery with blood loss. The premises is not maintained with unmoving sliding doors, patchwork painted walls, forever running toilets, weedy courtyards and broken window blinds. I will be filing complaints with their corporate office (they are unable to provide a phone number), the state board of licensing, Medicare (as their highest rated county provider) and the county ombudsman for elder abuse. I have already filed a complaint with my insurance carrier. Do NOT go here. I wish I could leave no stars at all

She stayed in an acute care hospital for one week and was transferred to Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center in National City, CA, to get her strength back before she was able to go home and be independent once again. Upon arrival, we marveled at how neat, clean, and beautifully appointed the facility was inside. The two ladies at the front desk, Sandra and Karina, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The various staff members greeted my precious Mama with smiles and compassion and were all so very kind. The Administrator, Aaron Burrup, came in and introduced himself. He shook her hand and made her feel right at home. Amanda, from Admissions, made sure she was comfortable in her room. Her Charge Nurses, Megan, Judy, Edwin, Marisol, and Mila were very helpful and accommodating and worked with us as we shared our concerns. Faye, Karina, and Utzhi, her attentive medication nurses, made certain they continued her regular medicinal regime and if she had a special need, immediately got Doctors orders to help her with whatever arose. Her CNA's were outstanding. Esmer, Cita, Vilma, Cynthia, and Edwina treated my sweet Mom with the same love and compassion they would treat their own Mothers. They would greet her with cheerful smiles and warm hellos many times every day. They sang to her, helped her with her daily personal needs, tenderly helped her shower, neatened her room, and made her laugh. How important these things are when you are yearning to be home to be with your family. They truly become a lifeline. The housekeepers were amazing at keeping everything neat and clean. I never smelled urine or any other unpleasant odors the entire time my Mom was a patient in this facility. Her Physical Therapist, Rayne, was extraordinary. Whereas upon arrival, my Mom was so weak and dreaded therapy, Rayne encouraged her and cheered her on as she worked hard and built up her strength. He gave her the support and fortification she needed and taught her skills she will use the rest of her life. Her Occupational Therapist, Lauren, was so patient and thoughtful as she shared her expertise with my Mom so she could eventually go home and live independently again. These two Therapists infused their strength into my Mom and are the reason she is so much stronger now. With the collaboration of this hard-working, dedicated team, my darling Mama was able to go home today in better shape than before her illness. They provided excellent care for her, both physically and emotionally. Our family is extremely grateful and appreciative to the entire Staff of Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center.

However, as i read your review , I was shocked at what you stated in your review! Covid was a scary illness that we should have took caution when everything was starting to open up again after the pandemic, I would be hellbent if my mother ended up with severe medical problems caused by negligence, however i witness first hand how her drivers would park, turn their van off, and walk to her to test her temperature and hand her a fresh clean mask. I still had my concerns and decided to personally drop my mother off at the program where i saw them test other seniors at the front door. Now we are in 2023, Covid is still around but not as impactful as before since we no longer need to constantly wear our masks. i still have my concerns and will sometimes bring my mother in to see if they are still taking precautions about the illness, and the nursing staff jumps as soon as they hear coughing and will strongly recommend for the person to wear a mask. My opinion about the staff has always been positive, I got to know the Nursing staff well and most of them were really friendly except for one of the nurses she was short and had a mean face, she looked like she was their against her will and her negativity was very vocal. I believe her name was Claudia or Claudette, however i have not seen her for a great while, which fortunatley for the better. Like i said in the begining, my mother has nothing but positive things to say about the program and prays for its staff member and wishes to continue seeing her friends at Open Arms.
