Rosio had the smiley face and seemed genuinely glad to be at the Villas. She works rapidly, efficiently, and with quality. She constantly checks on her patients and follows up on every patient. She shows genuine concern. Also noted... Gina was still at the med tray and doing an outstanding job as usual. Susan was behind the desk as charge nurse. I will note others and include these names as they continue their outstanding work.

She stayed in an acute care hospital for one week and was transferred to Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center in National City, CA, to get her strength back before she was able to go home and be independent once again. Upon arrival, we marveled at how neat, clean, and beautifully appointed the facility was inside. The two ladies at the front desk, Sandra and Karina, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The various staff members greeted my precious Mama with smiles and compassion and were all so very kind. The Administrator, Aaron Burrup, came in and introduced himself. He shook her hand and made her feel right at home. Amanda, from Admissions, made sure she was comfortable in her room. Her Charge Nurses, Megan, Judy, Edwin, Marisol, and Mila were very helpful and accommodating and worked with us as we shared our concerns. Faye, Karina, and Utzhi, her attentive medication nurses, made certain they continued her regular medicinal regime and if she had a special need, immediately got Doctors orders to help her with whatever arose. Her CNA's were outstanding. Esmer, Cita, Vilma, Cynthia, and Edwina treated my sweet Mom with the same love and compassion they would treat their own Mothers. They would greet her with cheerful smiles and warm hellos many times every day. They sang to her, helped her with her daily personal needs, tenderly helped her shower, neatened her room, and made her laugh. How important these things are when you are yearning to be home to be with your family. They truly become a lifeline. The housekeepers were amazing at keeping everything neat and clean. I never smelled urine or any other unpleasant odors the entire time my Mom was a patient in this facility. Her Physical Therapist, Rayne, was extraordinary. Whereas upon arrival, my Mom was so weak and dreaded therapy, Rayne encouraged her and cheered her on as she worked hard and built up her strength. He gave her the support and fortification she needed and taught her skills she will use the rest of her life. Her Occupational Therapist, Lauren, was so patient and thoughtful as she shared her expertise with my Mom so she could eventually go home and live independently again. These two Therapists infused their strength into my Mom and are the reason she is so much stronger now. With the collaboration of this hard-working, dedicated team, my darling Mama was able to go home today in better shape than before her illness. They provided excellent care for her, both physically and emotionally. Our family is extremely grateful and appreciative to the entire Staff of Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center.

My 91 year old mother has been a resident there for more than 3 years and my experience with a majority of the staff and Esabel Cano in particular has been very positive. I rely on Esabel and the other staff like Rosa, Sol, Randy and the other nurses and CNA's to not only provide compassionate medical care for my mother but to also to ensure that her day to day living is as pleasant as possible. My mother can be a very difficult and demanding person that requires an enormous amount of patience. Without going into the gory details, I will just say that anyone that can deal with her is a saint. They are always sensitive and caring to her and keep me informed on her situation regularly. I must also so that I have been extremely impressed with the precautions that the facility have put in place to ensure the safety of residents during this pandemic. While it is difficult for families not to be able to see their love ones, I for one am very grateful that visitors are no longer permitted in the facility. Their proactive and well-thought out plan for protecting residents should be applauded. It is pretty amazing that not one patient has contracted the virus. In normal situations, these jobs are difficult. The staff are putting their lives at risk every day and I for one, am extremely grateful.

The place looks nothing like it does online. It's dirty, not well maintained and residents are packed in like sardines and it stinks so bad. My classmates and I routinely witnessed the staff performing tasks without gloves or proper procedures. Very few of them washed or sanitized their hands after caring for one patient and moving on to another. We couldn't believe that this is where they assigned us to be taught & mentored. More than half the hand sanitizers in the hallway didn't work The Infection control practices were pretty lax here. The director of nursing, Filipino lady with short hair would regularly berate, reprimand and yell at staff in front residents and us students. The back doors near the patio and back entrances were always open and posed a security risk. Anyone could walk in at any time undetected. It definitely taught us what we don't wanna do once we get in the field and more importantly, where we don't want to work or even send our family members for that matter! I wouldn't send my loved one here.

Since day one my mother and others I've seen for these years are treated so lovingly with dignity, care and much respect. The point of this review is to share why it's such a wonderful facility. Its because of all the employees that work there. I want to take the time to mention all of these beautiful workers. Each of them are focused and have personal high integrity. It's not just a job to them. For instance a CNA name Joanna once told me, "I work from my heart," and she truly does The other CNA's that deserve high mention are: LuzGraciela, CruzKatayna, Maria, April, Tatiana Shevchenko, Steven Legho in the dining room, Jackie (RNA) . Not to forget to mention Mike Adams Kitchen Dietary Supervisor, and everyone who works hard in the kitchen. Caroline (RNA) too! I want to mention Reggie Tamon Activities Director and Myrna Anderson who truly keep smiles on all the residences faces. Denise LVN too, (I don't want to leave anyone out!). Michelle Staggs - Social Services Director. She really brings a quiet calm to things. Chris - Dir. of Rehab and Bob -Sppech Pathologist. Dan Rojas - Infection Prevention. And in Laundery: Amada,Janet and Michelle. Armando - House Keeping Supervisor and Alejandro and Fernanda. Gretchen Ortizo - Head Nurse. Gilda - Treatment Nurse. Receptionists: Kate and Maria. And last but never the least Mike Falco - Administrator. The reason I put the spotlight on all of these employees is to emphasis that all of them bring calm, peace and amazing love and care. There are many more employees I wish I could name of which all together, ALL of them are awesome people and have made huge impacts of care to every resident and temporary rehab people and their families. Thank you for taking the important time to read this and know CBCC is not just another nursing home. It's employees are the very heartbeat of it. Sincerely Joanie Stahl
