My mother was on a wait list for a place but she wasn't ready to go when an opening came up and unfortunately there was not an opening now that she was ready. I called Senior Care Authority and Harp answered my call. She was an angel. She quickly gathered a list of potential care-homes for me to look at in the price range I could afford and I was able to do some phone interviews and I toured three of the houses. Harp toured the house I was most interested in with me. It was a new care-home opening up. I was able to pick the room I wanted for my mother and she was able to get a private room. There are only 6 residents so I know my mother isn't lost in a large facility. The house is beautiful and they keep it spotless. Visiting hours are very reasonable. They keep a good schedule for the residents and they have hospice available. The food they serve is very good. Harp came to the post Acute Care facility my mother was in after the hospital released her from their care. She helped me with all of my paperwork and coordinating the release date from Post Acute Care. She came to the house and checked on us the day I moved my mother in which was really sweet. This was a situation I wouldn't wish on anyone. It's scary and emotional and so stressful. Once Medicare says "no more care" you have to take your family member out of the facility or pay out of pocket. You want to do the right thing. If you can't take care of your parents for whatever reason in your own home or their home, you want to find the right situation for them and be able to afford it. There's so many horror stories out there. I can't recommend Harp at Senior Care Authority highly enough for helping me make it through the whole event and getting me through to the other side. Getting help from someone that knows what she's doing was the best decision I made. Thank you Harp!!!!!

From the very beginning, Aurora was compassionate, responsible, patient, and incredibly attentive to every detail of my mother's care and recovery plan. What stood out most was how helpful and proactive she was. She always took the time to explain options clearly, answer our questions, and make sure our family felt informed and supported during a stressful time. She never made us feel rushed and consistently went above and beyond to advocate for what was best for my mother. Her communication was excellent, and it was obvious that she genuinely cared about the well-being of the patients and their families. Having someone so organized, knowledgeable, and kind made a huge difference in our experience. I'm truly grateful for her professionalism, empathy, and dedication. She brought comfort and peace of mind to our family when we needed it most. Thank you for treating my mother with such dignity, care, and respect.

When my husband arrived at The Shores, he had been turned down by 3 skilled nursing facilities…read more(SNF). Although they didn't say it out loud, we became aware that my husband was rejected because he required an extreme amount of time and resources to meet his needs. These SNFs were not willing to provide this level of care. Marionne, the head administrator at the Shores, gave us a chance. Even though we required more help than was available, Marionne made sure we had the resources we needed. I met Connie, the social worker, on the second day of my husband's stay. I had a very long list of things that my husband needed to survive his stay at any facility. As I expressed our needs, I expected Connie to lose interest and turn away. She did just the opposite. She took out a notebook and wrote down all that I needed. It was ALL accomplished the next day! Throughout our stay I would e-mail Connie concerns in the evening...things that my husband had confided to me. Almost always I would see the result the following day!!!!! Besides the administrative staff we encountered an OUTSTANDING nurse named Gigi. If we ever had a question or concern, we knew who to call!!! Last but not least, Elmer our CNA was a master at using the Hoyer lift!!! He would easily lift my husband and reposition him in half the time it took many others. Marionne once told me that they were not perfect . All I can say is if you have people like those mentioned who take pride in their work as these people do, you may not be perfect, but you are well on your way to getting there!

Do not send things to the laundry as I lost a dress before realizing this is par for the course The staff was very kind and pleasant including when dealing with truly abusive and combative patients. This facility is the only one I have ever been to so I have no comparison. PT & OT were great. I greatly underage time I would need to recover from extensive back surgery. I'm currently set to leave in 2 weeks which is 14 weeks after coming here. One of the social workers was very helpful with discharge planning but the one usually here seemed distracted and did not follow up on homecare after several requests. I don't know where to start with my praise for Mission Hospice!…read more I knew about hospice but I thought it was reserved for those who are in the actively dying stage. Boy, was I wrong! If you take anything away from this review, please know that hospice can and should start early so that your loved one is comfortable...not just for the days before their death but for weeks or months. Anyway, my Dad had dementia and was living in a memory care facility. They didn't recommend hospice until Dad was in the actively dying stage (we didn't realize). They referred us to Mission Hospice on a Saturday and Dad passed away on Thursday. From the moment Zachary arrived to do the assessment, until my Dad passed away, our experience with Mission was everything we could have wanted during this stressful time. Within 1 hour of Zachary's assessment, Dad was set up with a hospital bed, oxygen, pain medications, etc. Zachary was very patient and thorough, asking questions and allowing us to share our experience even if it was too much information! We received a visit from the Social Worker, Susan, and I must say that she was a blessing. She really cared about my Dad, my family and our experience. She allowed us to laugh, cry and share our fears and regrets. I felt safe to really express my sorrow and cry for the first time since this final stage began. Next came Pastor Don....he arrived in our life at the perfect moment. In the midst of guilt and remorse he helped me see things from a different perspective. Could we have done things differently with Dad's care? Perhaps. But did we do the absolute best we could with what we knew? Absolutely! We received daily visits from RN's, all of which were concerned, caring and took the time to answer all our questions. As for expenses, Mission handled all the paperwork with Medicare so we didn't have to do anything. If you are thinking about hospice but you're not sure if it's the right time, call Mission to talk it through. Don't rely on the hospital or the doctor or the care staff to bring it up...be proactive. I wish we had started sooner. Thank you Mission, for helping my Dad have a peaceful passing!
